  1. They had a '57 Nomad body sitting there behind some stuff - quasi out of public view - although it's listed in the catalog they were handing out as a pending release. But there was nothing there showing the '56.
  2. Minor correction - the Fall show in Japan is the All Japan Model & Hobby Show held in Tokyo. Shizouka happens once a year in the Spring. Well there hasn't been a second kit from the BMW Supra, Ford GT, or Mustang GT4. So minor revision to any of those are easy possibilities since Tamiya always does two versions of every kit they tool - even if the 2nd version is a clear body, or molded in Yellow like a lot of the Ferraris were over their live spans. They are doing R/Cs of the new BRZ/86 so it would not at all surprise me to see one of those, or the New Z as even though the car was just unveiled last week they're clearly working very closely with Nissan with the new kit of the Fairlady just being released as well. I would not be gobsmacked if Tamiya - maybe in the Spring of 2022 - does the new Toyota Hyper Le Mans car since it won the 24hrs again this year, although that might depend on how two effectively identical TS-050s sold in their releases.
  3. The U.S. boxed kits are the fixed ones, I'm not sure there are any fixed ones in the Euro long boxes yet as places either list it as discontinued or never even got them in the first place. The quality issues didn't effect the Convertible, those are just in short supply due to the shipping issues of getting things in from China.
  4. If you haven't looked that far yet the front instructions are for applying the stickers and assembling it as is, the rear set is for painting it and applying the decals. The stickers and decals aren't numbered the same so make sure you're on the right guide.
  5. Yes both are red. Even with as many import kits as I buy, I still don't get the point of the molded in color stuff on kits clearly aimed at adults (eg the Aoshima LB Huracan being molded in colors as it's a transition to glue kit for younger/beginner modelers makes sense to me). Perhaps it's a Euro/Asia vs. U.S. prerogative and while Revell US will develop US kits these Jags (and upcoming 911s) are being reboxes solely for normality on shelving. Every retail setup in North America be it Hobby Lobby, Michael's or the LHS are designed for our shoe box sized boxes and if they carry Euro Revell products at all they're usually buried in another part of the store by the Asian imports never to be seen again or piled down with the tractor trailers and AMT Art Boxes & Tins that haven't sold.
  6. There were no changes made to the body other than the sink mark issues that were caused by improper mold flow. They are both identical. More broadly the body wasn't corrected for accuracy, and there were never any plans to correct it for accuracy, and to be honest they are aware of this thread and it's rumors implying the roof was being addressed. Since it was never even a topic of conversation much wonder has occurred as to where that set of "facts" came from in the first place.
  7. It is indeed a entirely new tool. The existing '32 had been pushed as far as it could go in terms if usage and "real estate" on the engravable tooling area, so an entirely new one was made patterning it after the first kit as much as possible to save development costs. I don't know how well the Rat Roaster sold, but in any regards being able to tool up the new interior and windshield for it and release it again will help offset the tooling costs of a "one off" kit.
  8. I was eavesdropping on the Atlantis guys today and they have quite a bit of ideas for new subjects and a lot of it would be new tooling. So they are clearly looking beyond the inventory of old stuff they've acquired over the years.
  9. Well China's workings really aren't the problem with Hobbico over extending itself in the R/C market, then proceeding to get itself sued by Traxxas. I am empathetic to Tom not getting paid what he was owed, bankruptcy discharges debts so the new Revell wasn't responsible to pay him. It's a shaft for sure, but he can always make that money back...again compared to the loss suffered by the actual employees.
  10. I think ideally Revell would like to get all the things already announced with boxes out this year at least if they could get product over in any sort of timely fashion...not sure on the other two newer projects (32 & '71). I believe RevellAG has November & December release date on their 911s in Euro boxes, so even in a perfect world I'd expect the reboxes to be 2022 kits. I think there's enough stuff at Atlantis, especially with the Keeler's Kustoms stuff to certainly extend in the first months of 2022 to get everything pictured released. From prior posts here by the Moebius people they ideally wanted to get the Ramp Truck and at least one of the Chevys out before the end of the year. The Ramp Truck is a Model King branded release, and I believe he's the driving financial force behind the Holmes style wrecker and the dump truck, which makes sense given he's footing the bills for all the proper 350 HD chassis pieces, wheels, etc.
  11. No no...it's just the '79 reissued as is, as mentioned in the original post Revell's German site has the year wrong.
  12. I'm guessing why this is a '71 and not a '72 is due to the 1971 being the last true 442, while in 72 it was back to being a set trim packages. I didn't ask, but I would presume this isn't a copy of JoHan or anything like that, but just a new top body insert (along with rear glass and any modified parts to the convertible's interior) for the existing '72 Convertible kit. That would make the most sense (IMHO) and assure the new body fits the internals since the bottom 3/4 of it is the same as all the others. My personal wish would be for a '68, but that would probably need to be on a Lindberg or AMT based modified reissue, so I won't hold my breath.
  13. Ooooooor Tom Daniel could stop being a pouty child about things and agree to new licensing with Revell. I've made my opinion that he's being ridiculous about things pretty clear, but I do appreciate he was not fully paid. But considering how many actual employees of Hobbico weren't paid their salaries in the end, and many more lost thousands of dollars up to their "life savings" when the ESOP collapsed...well pretty sure Tom could write that off as a business loss, and then suck it up and sign a new agreement...but those employees lost their jobs and all their money forever.
  14. Who didn't show which '56 Chevy?
  15. They did have wheel and tires sets on the table, but I have no experience with their product line to know if they're old or new. I'll be sure to ask. The Tri-Fives are indeed the old Revell kits.
  16. Revell - Spent a bunch of time with Ed (Sexton) this morning talking about a bunch of things. Including how some on this forum and else where believe the company is dead, the ongoing cluster yaknow shipping things from Asia continues to be, and of course models. Ed told me that there's little they can do with distribution right now, it's not a cash flow or Germany issue, but completely related to getting containers from China to the U.S., and then to the warehouse here. They have a slew of product on order and ready to shop, but getting them shipped continues to be an expensive headache. To that end the guy at Pegasus was saying it's become so expensive it's directly adding $1 to every model kit to offset the costs. So let's see what there is to discuss...note I'm not going to cover old yet unreleased stuff like the Bronco Half Cab, or '30 Ford. But rather the newly announced...or new products. So first up on the 4 kits just added to the Revell German site. The "1981" Camaro is in fact the venerable Monogram 1979 Camaro 3n1 kit, last released in 2011. 37 Ford P/U as advertised The 66 Malibu was described as a combination of both sides of the tooling (aka the red car and the black car). Ed wasn't directly involved with the project so details as to if it's exactly ALL the parts from both, or just a mix and match is not totally clear. Lasty was the also wrong scale listed '69 Camaro. The correct scale is 1/25. It is the Camaro tooling we all know and love, but this time modified to reflect the SS396 format which has a specific hood that they have not included in any other release. Here are some box art previews for other upcoming kits. Looks like we get U.S. reboxes of BOTH of the new tool Porsche 911s. Couple of remaining items of interest. The 1971 Mustang project described as fake here recently is in fact (to reaffirm Tim Boyd's information) still on going. Its in the design process and they're currently back-checking references to make sure it's as accurate as possible. Then we have the "Rat Roaster Conversion" which are some new parts being tooled up to "de-copyright" the Rat Roaster kit. Revell is no longer carrying that license and needed to create parts that weren't specific to Stacey Davids. Then the cut the grass as far as I'm concerned is the test shot for the upcoming 1971 Oldsmobile 4-4-2...
  17. Atlantis - Got to talk with Jim Keeler for a little bit he is (as one might expect), very excited about the upcoming projects. Jim told me that all of the Parts Pack "Keeler's Kustoms" based kits will come with two COMPLETE engines, as well as a foot spool (see in the first picture) of wiring for said engine detailing. The following pictures are how the releases are more or less going to occur with the first three being locked in, in that order. Jim also did a very humorous humble brag about lathing the parts for the window tray seen in the photo below.
  18. Moebius - These guys were busy so what I have here are photos of the test shots. New Offroad Tires New Snowplow Chevy Nova SS/Chevy II Gasser New Ford F-Series Test Shots & CAD Previews *note* the placard for the Ramp Truck officially lists is as a 1967. But as the F-Series are modular, you can clearly put whatever year cab on it you wish.
  19. Alright after 14hrs of travel, what seems like 10 miles of walking, plus the time to talk to everyone I'm not trying to figure out which ones of the dozens of threads this stuff all sorts into, and I'm creating a new catch all thread here for the new/continuing kit news being announced here in Vegas. On site are Pegasus/Moebius, Revell, Atlantis, and Salvinos JR. I have no photos or anything from the latter as Salivinos is set up to vend their products and chat, but doesn't have any new stuff on display. If anyone has any questions (consider what information these guys can actually put out there in the public realm about future products) leave them here and I will try to get back around tomorrow or Saturday and glean what answers I can.
  20. The "Bad Company" van was out 6, nearly 7 years ago, and the last full releases of the '64 Ford was in 1999. There was a Model King boxing in 2007, but that's before Round2 was involved, so other than the 3 kit set they just released they've never made money from it. Your requests aren't bad ones, but companies need to keep things on the shelves of Hobby Lobby and brick and mortar Hobby Shops, it doesn't matter how many of them are floating around on eBay or at shows, they're not making any money when those change hands for the (17th) time. The Caprice seems due for a reissue, but it might have sold like a hot fart in church and doesn't justify it. We (the public) only ever know what the kits are planned for about 4-6 months in advance, there's no telling what is planned for 2022 and beyond.
  21. Well unless someone else wants to take what might have ultimately been an unsuccessfully flyer at it the way Chip did - paying into the kit development to take a large share of profits out the back end - none of this other stuff is a viable enough product to be developed. Chip was also left holding a mighty big bag of unpaid licensing fees when Hobbico flushed themselves to oblivion, and don't think other people didn't see that happen. It's the entire reason Tom Daniel won't speak to them, he's still under the impression the "new" Revell owes him the Hobbico money he never got. Kits have to be 3-5 variants deep from the jump or they just don't make sense from a risk standpoint, and one off TV show custom cars - unless the Martin Brothers want to pay the freight up front - are a great way to bankrupt a model company in 90 days or less.
  22. This came in a few days ago from the folks over at Fugu Garage. It all looks nicely done and well cast for the most part - the only nit I've found to pick so far is the two different wheel face options are just slightly large in diameter than the included wheel sleeves they're supposed to slot into, and a few of them might not technically be considered round. Some P/E would have been nice for the grilles, but being a curbside that would unnecessarily complicate things by opening voids into nothing. But otherwise all in all a nice job, the glass isn't as clear as a polished styrene piece, but it's still nice, stout, and not optically distorted. The big part of this will be how well the one piece resin front clip actually mates to the rest of the GT4 Mustang, and that requires cutting a $45 Tamiya kit in twain...
  23. Most recent box from HLJ. Also had a couple of sheets for the Tamiya/Hasegawa R32 GT-R JTTC cars, two years of Reeboks, and a JECs one not pictured.
  24. Those aren't real, you can't get them in the U.S., and several of them don't have actual release dates...HLJ has the bus T2s in stock, I just ordered one this morning. But don't tell the people who can't see it on a shelf, they might think I'm hallucinating.
  25. I gotta admit I'm sick and tired of this same BLAH_BLAH_BLAH about "believe it when I see it on the shelf", which seems to track around Revell more than anybody else. Has any company offered to make a new tool, and then subsequently cancelled the project since the days of Wal*Mart being blamed for killing off the Donk G-Body and Studebaker and '50 Olds from AMT? Does the Moebius/MK Ford Ramp Truck not exist because it hasn't been officially announced? Is the Salvinos J R modified a deep fake since it's only been mentioned on FB? Show me on this doll where The Hobby touched you in the 1990s...
