  1. Agree. The package of 6 for $5.00 is a huge ripoff. I get them by the hundreds from ebay for the same price.
  2. Where section are they located in?
  3. Getting closer to finishing the decals. I've applied 61 decals and have approximately 30 more to go.
  4. Since the interior is ruined/scrapped, I've decided to just smoke the windows. This once fully detailed car I had planned is now an extreme Curbside: No engine detail and no interior detail. That left me with the exterior. I'm using Scale Motorsport Flying Lizard decals. There are at almost 60 decals to complete the livery. Decals are applied in numerical order per the instructions. There is a application guide, but I recommend using pictures from the internet as backup, as the directions are extremely complex. So far I've applied 27 decals, and it's taken around 6 hours of work. Once I'm done, the entire body minus windows will be cleared.
  5. One doesn't need to spend a lot on a camera if you have a modern day cell phone. Here's pics I've taken with my cell. Proper lighting in key.
  6. And then, the CA glue tip snapped off causing the whole dash to be covered in CA. This looks like it will turn out to be a tinted window porsche.
  7. If you tape up the windows, tires, etc...you could use Rustoleum Crystal Clear from the can...home depot has it....just spray a light mist coat, 15 min flash, another mist, 15 min flash, medium coat, flash, gloss coat, etc....wetsand and polish.
  8. I'm finally able to start with the build. I used a sharp hobby knife to remove the buttons and switches to the center console and dashbord, sanded, and drilled very very small holes using a pin vise. Doing so will allow me to add aftermarket switches, buttons, etc. I also cut the hole in the passenger center air vent. A small hose/vent will go there. I'm using reference pictures from the internet for guidance.
  9. Not yet. How much is it for 1/2 ounce?
  10. I really like the weathered effect. Super build!
  11. Thank you sir. But I still have a lot more room for improvement.
  12. Back when Hiroboy shipped internationally, I checked out their prices, and was floored how much they charged for a couple ounces of paint. For paint and clear for 1 car shipped it came out to something like $29.99. There are better options here for the money, but rarely in model car sized amounts.
  13. Here's my entry: Fujimi Porsche 911 GT3R. It's a really nice curbside kit. The plan is to take my time and really add a lot of extra detail to the interior and body. I need to fine tune this for a F2001 build down the road. Here's some of the goodies from my stash I'll be adding: -Scale Motorsport Flying Lizard Decals -Hobby Design Porsche 911 GT3 Photo Etch Kit -Hobby Design wires and plumbing -Hobby Design and T2M fittings -Model Factory Hiro Tubing -Hobby Design Antennae Kit -Hobby Design 5 Point Seat Belt -Brake Caliper decals -Carbon Fiber decals where applicable -And various scratchbuilt pieces where needed I hope to start it this week! All the cars look great so far guys!
  14. Ordered this and a Gulf 917 from HLJ few weeks ago...can't wait!
  15. I somehow missed this thread....can I still join???
  16. Jonathon, you churn out some nice cars at an amazing rate!
  17. Here's a ton: http://www.google.com/search?q=shelby+gt500+engine&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ei=UGKaUarHIsqAygGlhIHABQ&ved=0CAgQ_AUoAQ&biw=360&bih=567#biv=i%7C5%3Bd%7CQbR9urQerQYkFM%3A
  18. Using a drill press to mill will not end well. Dangerous my friend.
  19. Raildogg, I think she's referring to a new mill they came out with about a year ago. Its not the Seig version of the past. This is a small sherline sized mill. This is the one I think he's referring to: http://www.micromark.com/microlux-micro-milling-machine,9683.html
  20. Based on the low price it will probably be curbside.
  21. I'm assuming your looking at the Micro Mark mill they compare to Sherline's mill. If you're using it for model car needs, it will be fine. I have a Sherline lathe and the milling attachment and its flawless. I don't think you can go wrong with this new version fron Micro Mark.
  22. Exactly Jonathon. Some places will charge $50 for a $20 kit. I buy all my Japanese kits through HLJ. Their prices are so low I wonder how he makes a profit. And the Personal Warehouse option is genius.
  23. Some Aoshimas are full engine. Almost all tamiyas are full engine. Fujimi makes mostly curbside but there are aftermarket engines for a lot of them. Hasegawa are also curbside a large majority. Plus side - huge variety of cars Negative side - no engines Plus side - superior quality on most of the newer kits makes up for lack of engine. Fit and finish is incredible.
