  1. If you click the "roll" tab you can scroll thru this album real easy.
  2. Beautiful build! Pretty much my favorite racer (or maybe a tie with a Mclaren M8B).
  3. I agree, very nice and that ceiling came out great.
  4. I also hadn't heard or yout trouble Ed, but I certainly hope you get better soon!
  5. This is epic, Danny! Just superb.
  6. I have heard that baking soda is a bad choice. It absorbs moisture and can tune into goo over time. Go to some model RR forums and search for snow materials. I think the Woodland Scenic material mentioned would be a better choice.
  7. Scratchbuilding at its best. A pure pleasure to watch you build!
  8. I am finding that I enjoy taking pictures of my models almost as much as building them. Here are two pics taken of my current 1/24th scale diorama. The second one has been washed thru Photoshop elements using the Drybrush filter. Interesting that a 24 times too big sun can look ok!
  9. I have heard some horror stories regarding baking soda snow in model RR circles. I don't have personal experience, but approach with caution. Baking soda is very moisture absorbent and can do some unexpected things especially after some time. Peruse some model RR forums and look for scenery ideas. Snow and swamps are common on layouts and there should be some good ideas available for materials and techniques.
  10. Mcmaster-Carr industrial supply has brass and stainless screen. I think I used 320 mesh Stainless for this screen door in 1/2" scale.
  11. There are some flickering campfire circuits out there too. I can't think of a specific one, but they can be found in the model RR and maybe the dollhouse miniature worlds.
  12. That is a great concept and time period! Look forward to seeing how it comes out.
  13. You might look at the T-800 wheels from Modelhaus. I think they might be correct, but that site still does not have photos of the products.
  14. Nice little detail. I like the finish too. Thanks for the reference pics Tom! I've always liked these types of engines.
  15. I did a makeover of a Danbury mint Fordson for my Dad. Took about a years’ worth of modeling time to do. More here: http://public.fotki.com/ChuckDoan/model_projects/tractor_for_the/ Before and after:
  16. I like that! Nice.
  17. I vote model, but if so it is nice as is the pic.
  18. Looks beautiful out in the sun! REally nice!
  19. Thanks! Yeah Mike you are right; I later found some handwritten fonts online, and then realized I could just write it out myself and scan it in...Doh!
  20. Thanks for the great info Harry! Lot's to digest. PS is a daunting program, I'll see what bits and pieces I can try.
  21. That is a neat rig. You did a really good job on the frame and trailer, well built. Nice paint scheme too!
  22. Overall, I like it! A nice, well built subject. As you said, I have also seen a lot of rat rods with new running gear. Makes a nice contrast. Some good points have been made regarding the weathering. A really good source for weathering reference is the Flickr site. This is a favorite of mine: http://www.flickr.com/groups/rusty_old_cars/ I have found that site to be an invaluable source of pictures of weathered anythings. I like weathered cars, are you going to do another?
  23. I like that pump, and the your junked cars too! It will be interesting to see the scene come together.
  24. Looking forward to it!
  25. Thanks guys! Ben, Ive been messing around with Photoshop on some older model pics (instead of building). For a long time I've done model RR stuff, but lately I have tried larger scales. I really like working in 1/24, 1/25 scale(s). I'm sort of returning to my early days when I built a lot of cars (and then played with 'em!). This looks like a great place to re-acquainted with the model car hobby! There's a lot of amazing builds out there. Thanks again, Chuck
