I once built a peaked roofed shop that was a complete building, but one wall was missing and a rectangle was cut out of the roof. I don't have a picture featuring that side, but all the framing and trusses were there, just not on the missing wall and roof hole. So it looked like a complete building on one side and the interior was fully viewable on the other including the roof underside detail. Hope that makes sense.

Car styling has to be one of the hardest jobs especially the high end cars. Though if I worked in that field I would rather style a Ferrari than a Smart car. Like the thong comment!

My one and only figure can just be seen to the right. He can barely be seen thru the door of a garage in 1/4" scale. There have been some excellent points made here regarding figures. I haven't gotten interested in figure painting-it is a real art.

My Dad and I built a Manx knock-off in the early 70's. One job I well remember is being under the donor bug removing all those body bolts...

A guy at Pegasus Hobbies told me to use Windex for airbrusing 50/50. I haven't tried it yet.

Harry, thank you very much! Virgil your'e right its 1/2" scale. That is a nice kind of backdrop to have Virgil. I know I shouldn't care but I am still reluctant to do something like that in public with my models. It really works though. Mike, being able to fold up that dio makes it even better.

Tthanks for posting that Virgil! Mike, that is a great backdrop! The multi-sided one Ken Hamilton did is also a favorite of mine-very clever. Storage is always the biggest issue with these.

Thanks for the nice words! Skip, those were done using the Drybrush filter in Photoshop elements. I like it better than the Watercolor filter. After it is applied I sharpen the photo just a bit. The sun shot is the real thing, somehow my camera didn't freak out.

I usually use my Fordom drill press as a lathe and it's attached to a variable speed control. I used my Dremel pistol tool as a replacement when my speed control died. The Dremel tool is pretty fast even at its lowest speed setting so I used wet/dry sandpaper and kept it damp when sanding the final finish to prevent melting the styrene. I DO actually turn other things than light bulbs! Great info here, good topic Virgil.

My cars are long gone, but I well remember being a fan of Al Unser and Joe Leonard when they ran J-L sponsored cars in the USAC Indy series (early 70’s).

Very nice! My first car was a '50 Dodge with wide whitewalls-I don't know what they were thinkin-I had to constantly scrub those things to keep em clean.
