Okay I decided to show only the best parts of the car for this topic, but here's the picture of the damage. Well you can barely see from the picture, but the Windshield is scratched up from trying to sand off the cement glue, and the Drivers side back window you can see were the glue and paint came up from. well alittle anyway. Other than that I thought I did really good spray painting it, and some of the other details that I have done, and you all were right about the Black Chrome, I was lucky enought to get this stuff to stick on this model but barely. Two of the Decals were not sticking and ended up ruining one, but glued another on. Thank you Sixties Sam, george 53, Foxer and Shawn Tillotson for you comments and encouragment, This one has definitely taught me to work alittle more slowly and more patiently.

HI Brett thanks for the comment and info, Yes I will keep the " getting paid for it" in mind maybe that'll do the trick, also since I finished, I started on the 68 Charger R/T, and this time I am taking it slow. I would also like to thank everyone else, Jantrix, Slant 6, midnightprowler, and Mild for their comments and encouragement, yes I think that I was being to hard on myself, and well at least the car was not a total disaster, not like the Testarossa, but I am still in the learning process, and perhaps I may have had a bad day when completing this model, I guess I will just have to learn to step away if that happens. Thanks guys much appreciated .

I went to the Hobby Lobby today, and found out that yes the Plastic and Die-cast models are on sale 30% off, Aerosol Cans were 25% off, and other hobby items that I bought were not on sale. I hope this helps some.

I don't know who the Driver was, but to me if that was a professional stunt drvier behind the wheel, they need to get back on the track and learn to maneuver a vehicle, and some may argue this point, but I think the accident could have been avoided even with the speed the driver was going. Cause it seems to me that the police SUV was visible enough to make the correct deterimination that something with the scene was amiss, especially if the scene called for a clear roads. And yes they sure were quick to cover up that car after the wreck. Lots of people standing around and they think they can cover up the accident in hurry . I was also reading another movie scene accident with the new Green Hornet movie, when the Black beauty smashed into a wall. Speculation on that is that it was deliberate.

Allright I will kind of side track this arugment abit, When I went to You Tube as suggested, and inputed the users name, I noticed a few things, one the user is Russian, I read the language up front so you see something like this Масштабные модели автомобилей. If you hit the Translate button next to the words all it says is "Scale Model Cars", and yes that is what this on the top does translate too in Russian. And of course a few others. Most of these photo's/Video's here are three to four days old which means they are recently posted. So what's the deal you say.... Here's what I know about Both Russia and the Ukraine, That allot of scheme's, and illegal activity go on out there, and they are not Policing it like they should. now set this argument aside. As the qoute above states, this guy has two posts already from user's who seemingly believe that he is the Builder of such great looking models, and does not seem to want to retract the idea that they are someone else's creation. now looking at his profile you see this. Name:MINI wheelS MODEL CAR CLUBChannel Views:11,005Total Upload Views:162,971Joined:September 26, 2008Subscribers:136PLASTICS MODEL CAR CLUB About Me: sorry NO English . Hometown:CCCPCountry:Moldova I could not get a copy, but it also states under Interests: Model Cars. I also find his Country interesting, Moldova, which is to the south west of the Ukraine and if its anything like the Ukraine or Russia, then you can bet some illegal activity is going there. And even as one is a Moldovian, or Ukrainian, they still speak Russian, and a majority of the population is Russian by decent. This guy also claims to be apart of a Modeling club in Moldova. What it boils down to: I know how bad I have made these countries look in the way of their illegal activity, but not all are bad, I just want to point this out, I have to especially if I want to marry the Ukrainian woman that I am in chat with . My only conclusion is that this guy does know where he is getting the photo's and then posting them as video, and assumes the credit for these models shown as being his builds and not others. As mentioned many times here on this topic by many others, the example, if you go to a show and take a picture of someone else's model, then post it on a website. Well in my way of thinking that if you do that, at least give the people view Pictures/Article the credit to the modeler by at least typing in their name, again common Courtesy. To me the creation of the model is the art, and belong's to the artist, and if a picture is taken by someone else freely because it is their right too, what are you as the modeler going to tell them, Hey this is a copyrighted model pictures taken are going to cost you $$$$, I don't think so. So what it really boils down to is Common Courtesy, and cannot say for sure if this guy is just posting the works of fellow members, or that of others, still I think that he should have the common courtesy to state that these are just models that he is showing for someone else or that which has seen on another site. In other words since he does not have such common courtesy, he should be reported to You Tube and removed. After this post I will login to You Tube and then I will report the fact that his is showing others works and not giving credit where it is due. -
Future project...1969 Nova
davyou5 replied to Darin Bastedo's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
The body mold looks exactly like Revell's Body from the 2 n 1 kit i just built. Still I like were your going with this, I just hope that AMT's kit does not give you the minor Frustrations that I have had with Revell's kit. -
Thanks for the info, So this means that Elmers white glues would fix scratches? Am I comprehending that right?
-
Hello, I have just finished the Revell 2 n 1 '69 Nova SS kit, and I have to admit a failure , and perhaps it is just my high expectations in myself, it did not turn out as I really wanted it too, I did use Black Chrome for the first time on this kit, and actually its was my first time with BMF period. This model will not be making it to any shows, but it will serve as a reminder of how much patience and time it takes to really build one almost perfect. It is also something that I have had to learn. Explainations of the visual mistakes on this model will be Explained with the photo's. Model: Revell 2 n 1 '69 Nova SS Paint/Color: Exterior: Model Master's Dark Cherry Red Pearl - Interior: Testor's Gloss and Flat Black Status: As complete as I feel I can make it. The Best Shot of the Interior that I could get. Passenger Side View. Front View. Rear View. Engine Shot. Drivers side view. and some of were the mistakes are. So what were the mistakes I made, 1. I decided to wear a glove that was abit dirty, I got some glue spots on the Windshield and tried getting them off, which resulted in it being scratched up. 2. on the drivers side windows, I did not place the glue on after I put them in, even with as little glue that I have used it still spread beyond the seems and onto the window. And took some paint with it. 3. I have to keep reminding myself to clean the work area, which resulted in spots on the paint job, which at this point I can not cover up. 4. I had one hell of a time getting the Decals to stick, that may have been due to the Car polish/wax, I don't know for sure, bt maybe someone does. If I am going to be the modeler that I want to be, I have to do better, I hope that some here have learned a thing or two more, if not then maybe some of you here can post up what could have been done better. Thanks

Hey Thanks Jairus, for the lenghty explaination, I see that I may be jumping the gun a bit on this subject, but I am here to learn, thanks . -

For your first car you have done an Excellent job! So I assume that you have modeling experience building other things? Like Planes, or ships for example? I hope to see more from you here.
-
Awesome Build! Hey did those Wheels come with that kit? or did you buy them else where?
-

Yes it is the Merc from "Cobra" behind the Engine, I am using the '49 Mercury kit for that build, I still have much to do on it, The Hood Scoop is custom made by me but is not exactly how I want it, and I am also wating for parts to come in. Essentually I am just customizing the Merc to a '50 like on that movie. And though the topic is not for the Merc here is a picture of what I have so far. And thanks for the comment. More on the Nova ss, I got the engine and Chassis put together, I am working on the interior with Funky Foam for the Carpet, and Gloss Black for the Seats. Pic's. Okay originally I bought my first BMF, in the form of Black chrome, and I bought it for the Mercury originally, but it would not stick to the Window seals, So I ended up using some on the Nova, This is my first attempt to use the foil and it did stick, so I ended up using it and gaining experience from my first BMF Car, Though I realize it is not perfect, I think I did pretty good on it. I took some shots here I hope that you can see it. Ahh two of the Shots are Lousy, okay when I can get better ligthing I will post more here. Thanks for looking.

Yeah I agree that the green really suits the car .
