  1. Yes straight from the can, funny I have more airbrush supplies than I care to admit, but from the can was good enough for me this time. Thanks again everyone
  2. Thanks for all the feedback everyone
  3. Yeah I realized I started this in october 2010! It was well overdue finishing...
  4. I have a couple of these AMT kits laying around, parts missing from both, and one the windshield frame is broken on, but it looks like I have enough to knock out a simple build on. Thinking a mild patina on this, lowered in the weeds, on wide whites. Kind of a drivers car not a show car. while the other body is drying from its first coat of primer I figured Id use the one with the broken frame to mock up the suspension, just flipped the knuckles up front and slammed the back to the tires. tires are Modelhause 430 (repop of the front tires in the revel 29 rat rod) with kit steel wheels
  5. Have had this one sitting almost done for a while now, decided to get her finished up today. Inspired by a build in a mag from late 09, one of the reasons I picked back up modeling after a long hiatus. -Revell 32 -Caddy motor out of the revell 49 merc -rear axle from revell 40 ford -front tires/wheels from lindberg 53 ford / rear tires from AMT riviera with the 53 whitewall inserts and wheels. -duplicolor automotive spray for paint.
  6. made a bit more progress, still have a bit of work to do on the firewall.
  7. Thanks guys, I'll be finishing this one soon
  8. thanks guys, I'm still working things out as I go here, but I think its past the point of "idea" now.. I
  9. Going for a little more modern rod than what I have been doing lately. I started with; * 34 Ford snaptite kit * 97 corvette kit * 32 ford frame Started by shaving down the chassis from the vette, I attached the 32 frame rails, and then reattached the front upper a arms from the vette. then I separated the main body from the hood/grill on the 34 ford, and got its main placement laid out. the goal is to use as much of the corvette chassis as possible, including the drive train. this is loosely based upon the Factory five hotrod kit car. http://www.factoryfi...hotrodhome.html
  10. thanks, that isnt a half bad idea, a real light blue could look good.. I may have to play with that
  11. Finally picked this one back up, after two failed attempts at the paint, I walked away from it for a while. Picked up another kit to steal the body from. For some reason this thing did not want to get painted. but after a small fight with the roof on body number two, we now have paint!
  12. Started a new project today, not really a rod, not really a rat, just kinda my own spin. Started with the Revell 29 Ford Rat rod pickup. So far I have Z'd the rear of the frame Channeled the body on the frame and moved it back made new motor mounts and trans cross member for the 2.3l turbo 4cyl from the Monagram 85 SVO mustang combined the kit rear suspension with a parts-box quick change rear and 1/8th inch aluminum rod. that's all for now.
  13. this may be one of the coolest build threads ever.. awesome info and build work going on here
  14. Progress stalled on this one because I had a bit of a fit with the paint, so I sanded it all down, reprimed and smoothed out the roof while I was at it. Second try at the paint is drying now, should have picture updates soon.
  15. tires from revell 29 rat rod kit? what about the wheels? really nice build..
