Thanks for the replies guys. I just don't have that much of confidence in my scratch building skills. If it's so easy to scratch build, why doesn't someone make a resin body? I think they would break the bank & not be able to keep up with sales. They would have to have a ton of back stock before announcing they had them in my opinion.

I'm looking for a company that might make an early '20's Dodge sedan body. Does anyone make such a thing?

So Real Drag Wheels
hotrodblder replied to hotrodblder's topic in Car Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
I found someone who makes what I'm looking for. Thepartsbox.com out of Australia makes and sells them as a whole wheel and tire set. I think I'll just get them from them. The wait with shipping will be worth it in the end. -
So Real Drag Wheels

I'm gonna guess it's a no. No problem. I'll figure something out. Thanks for reading everyone. -
Does anyone make a resin wheel like the So Real? I'm having a hard time finding the real thing and when I do, they're ridiculously expensive for my budget. can anyone point me in the right direction? Thanks for the help.

great way to think outside the box. it's just me, but I'm not to cracked on the paint, but the rest is outstanding. you did an excellent job with this project otherwise. keep up the great work.

I'm not sure why i have it, but I have the book on how to build the real deal (the modern version) with the '68 Dart or this exact car on the front. If I can find the book I'll post a pic. I think you did an outstanding job.

I think it looks really slick. It's something you don't see everyday. I like it.

70.5 Z28 10.5 Outlaw (WIP....Update 7.9.13)

Where did you get the wheels and tires for this build? I think they are really slick, no pun intended. -
Just so you know before someone else dings you, it's a Charger, not a Challenger. Just trying to be nice is all. Also, it's a great looking build. I like the street racer look you gave it with the stock style wheels and big n little tires. It looks really tough.

Not to sound bad, but I think the stripe on the hood might look better if it went all the way down to the stripe on the fender. For some reason it doesn't look right to me with the blue gap in there. Just an opinion is all.

Paint Strippers - What to Use?
hotrodblder replied to pbj59's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
I had to go to Menards today and buy a dog collar. So while I was there I looked for lye crystals. After walking right past them 4 times I asked someone and they took me right to them. Long story short. I got home, mixed 3 tbs of crystals in warm tap water so they dissolved and then set my parts to soak. I had already stripped the 'chrome' off, just had the clear left. After about 15 min or so I scrubbed with a tooth brush and what was left came right off. A wash with soap and water and they're set to air dry. I think this is one of the better solutions to stripping chrome that I've learned yet, even if it's caustic. It'll defiantly make my painted parts look better now. Thanks Mr. Anderson. -
Paint Strippers - What to Use?
hotrodblder replied to pbj59's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers

Paint Strippers - What to Use?
hotrodblder replied to pbj59's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
Thanks Mr. A. I will look for it when I go to the store tomorrow. I have some pesky parts that I want to get down to the bare plastic for this particular project so they look better painted. Would virtually any type of crystal lye work then I'm assuming? -

I have used both Super Clean AND Purple Power and the under coating is still on my parts. I usually let them sit for about 12 to 24 hrs just for general principal even if it's not needed. I've just not had much luck with this in general I guess. -
Just looks like they ran the headers backwards for some reason.

I will never be a fan of green. BUT, there is a positive message in this post. I love, love, love how this kit turned out. I have yet to do anything with mine since I bought it back in April of this year. But I see so many different people's version's of this kit and it keeps giving me hope that mine will turn out really well, too. Keep up the Great work, Dan!!! I do have one question and it may just be my eyes, but are those slicks on the front? Is it meant to be a exhibition style car? Or was it just a flaw that that I'm pointing out? Sorry if I'm seeing things.
