Hi Adam, The quality of this kit is one of the best I've seen for this 911 body style. I have Fujimi's, Hasegawa and Revell kits, and I have to say that this Tamiya kit is the best for a early and late 80's Porsche 911. It goes together very well and it even gives you photo-etch for the Turbo Logo that goes on the back of the Porsche. I like it so much that I'm going to buy another one.

As Tamiya kits go, this one was a fun build. As always, I try to make my models look like the real thing. I was tired of the typical red or black color that many builders paint the Porsche 911 in. So I decided to paint this 911 in Tamiya Champagne Gold. And May I say, I love the how good the color looks on this kit. This kit went so well together that I'm thinking of buying another one to build. But I'm going to correct some of my earlier techniques. There's a couple minor things that I was not too happy with on this kit and would like to correct. I've learned so much since this kit was built back on 2006. I didn't want to correct this one. I wanted to keep this one as I built it back then, so I can see how much I've learned & advanced since then. Like an artist. They never go back and correct their earlier masterpieces. Thank you for looking and hope you enjoy my little masterpiece. Model: Tamiya 24279 Model built year: 10-15-2006 Note: I hand painted all the black trimming, and the gloss black on the wheels.

That's one beautiful plane. -
This Trumpeter 1/35 scale model was nicely detailed. And it went well together. Built for my cousin (Marine that served in Desert Storm), it has USMC markings. Didn't do much weathering as he (my cousin) wanted it clean. SEMPER FI!!!! Model: Trumpeter 00349 Scale: 1/35 Paint: Tamiya's - Nato Green, Nato Black and Nato Brown.

Here's the Giant Praying Mantis that I painted and detailed it for my brother. My brother found and rescued this model from the garbage. Then he gave it to me to do my magic and restore it. He wanted it to look as realistic as possible. So, I found a picture of a Pray Mantis my brother liked and used it as my guide. I scratched built the antennas as this kit lost them when it was rescued. Not sure what kit this model came from. I'm thinking maybe the old AMT kit?? It came out looking ok. I think I could of done better. I built this back in 2007.

David, That's not a bad idea. I may just do that. Do a How to Tip on scratch building an Antenna.

Really cool build. You did an awesome job on it. I have that kit myself and it's on my to build list.

Really cool build. Love the damage weathering. -
Really nice work Will. Love the color. I know the feeling. That also happened to me as well. To correct it, I just touched it up a little with future. It's not that noticeable, but it's still there. Like you I didn't want to make it worse.

This 66 GTO was built to look like one I've seen online and loved the color. So, someone in New York owns this beautiful work of art. The owner of this GTO didn't post any engine detail, so I just did the stock version. This kit went together very well. I also added the spark plug wiring. Revell Kit 2873 Kit built on 2008

Here's my 68 Charger from the Movie Bullitt. I did allot of research and watched the movie a couple of times to get it as close to the movies Charger. The only thing that is not accurate to the films Charger is the wheels. In the movie it had wheel caps, but everything else is spot on. I even scratched built the current license plates (with the correct numbers) and antenna. I even hand painted the white walls on the tires. That was a pain to do I won Third place on a local contest, the theme was "Paint it Black". Some of the Judges had to take a double look to make sure that it was not the diecast kit. Really nice work. I love the color combo you did. Especially the interior.

Wow, David... I can see what you mean. You have a REALLY BIG project in your hands with this one. Now that thing under the chassis. Here's what I found out about it: "When they were designing the CORD, Buehrig came up with a novelty right off the bat: a "hermetically sealed" engine compartment with dual external radiators." I believe that thing in the bottom is a second radiator.

LOL... nope, this is not the 2n1 kit, actually this is Revell's #7457 '69 Z-28 Camaro RS.

Really nice looking Challenger. The 70-71 Challenger's were my favorite Dodge Cars. I love the detail you did to the engine. REALLY COOL!!

Here's another one of my Armor Models that I build back on 2006. Model kit is from Tamiya. This kit went together very good. No problems. Here's a little History Info: The 3.7cm FlaK auf Fahrgestell Panzerkampfwagen IV (sf) (Sd.Kfz. 161/3), nicknamed Möbelwagen ("Furniture Van") because of its boxy turret (when closed), was a self-propelled anti-aircraft gun built from the chassis of the Panzer IV tank. It was used by the German Wehrmacht in the European Theater of World War II. I gave it minor battle damage on the front. This was my first test on weathering some damage.
