  1. From what I could tell by the drawings, and looking at the toy that came out about 20 years ago, he actually would've been a Freightliner cabover.
  2. Thanks for including my pix Tim. I was starting to think no one was ever going to send pix. Nice job on the website this time.
  3. In your situation, I would probably stock up just as much.
  4. It wasn't a bad kit. I love the white scroll and pinstripe decals it has. It has an inaccuracy or two, but otherwise, not a bad kit. It's the same as the 359 that AMT released 5 years ago, just with cool decals.
  5. I know what you mean. I love building my models, but I've noticed I've had too much time for it. Things have been so slow out here, but I hope that maybe things pick up as they usually do in the summer months. I guess we'll see.
  6. This is a good, convincing scene.
  7. Thanks for the info pepper. When you fix the time machine, let me know, I have a list for you, lol!!
  8. TOO COOL DUDE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I love the originality! I would love to try something like that.
  9. I had 2 or 3 kits stolen years ago. I never thought anyone would steal models, but I see now there is at least one other person out there would do this. And then to take it from a CONTEST!!!!!! Sick! I feel for the guy that put his work into it.
  10. This is going to be sharp. I like it so far. Then again, green kw's were always my favorite.
  11. Now this is looking good. I wish I knew how to do the rivet details like that. Well done.
  12. LOL. It's good to be noticed. I took a breather from the Freightliner for a few days to relax and find more info. The basic cab structure is just about complete. I should have it primered this weekend. There have been a few moments of frustration and a few "do-overs", but I have a fairly convincing replica, not perfect, but it should pass. The frame is about complete. As some of you know, I have been off work since April 18. Thanks to shortcuts taken in January by the warranty on my engine. The work authorized was nothing more than a bandaid. This time, Kenworth wasn't taking no for an answer, and they fought to have the properly performed work covered. It isn't a Kenworth or Cummins warranty, hence the problem. Thankfully, I don't have a lot of bills, mortgages, etc, or this would really hurt financially. Even though, losing the time hasn't helped any, either. The truck is back together, and I return to work next week. The only thing left is to sort through the mountain of paperwork so I can pay the bill, and go. Well, that's all for now. Other than that, not much is new.
  13. Great color choice. This will be a nice looking truck.
  14. WOW. $500 buy it now for a Bill Sign's Peterbilt!. Not to mention the the others. Crazy. I've paid more for a rare kit, but I have my limits.
  15. For me, any trucking memoribilia I can get my hands on. Pix, prints, hood ornaments, old truck lcense plates, keys, you name it. I try to collect as much from trucking's past as I can. If it so much as shows a pic of a truck, or has a truck related name on it, I snatch it up. I also collect shot glasses, dream catchers, and some airline related memoribilia as well. I have some unopened, small liquor bottles(I think they amount to about 2 shots) that were served to Eastern Airlines passengers from years ago. As a child, I collected postcards. I don't know what happened to those.
  16. I'm still trying to find out certain things. I wonder if this cab tilted, it pobably did, but I'm not sure. With the engine under the drom, I wonder if it was needed. I would guess the shfter stood still like other cabovers, but I don't know.
  17. Here is a daycab version of this drom tractor. I found it while cruising Hank's.
  18. From what I can see, you are off to a good start.
  19. I saw this 379 and flatbed at Wildwood, FL. It has suicide doors, custom made long running boards, air cleaners under the hood with the cap through the top of the hood. Anyone who travels through Phoenix, AZ and stops at Danny's Big Rig Oasis will find this truck there. The all aluminum trailer had black and green accessories to match the truck. This truck is definately different. the headlights have been installed in the bumper.
  20. I hope for the best for AMT. Most of the truck builds I have done, are from AMT. I hope they find a buyer. I would hate to see them go.
  21. He sounds like my father. My father built a model of the mid 70's camaro he owned in the mid 80's when I was about 4 or 5. It sat in the rear windsheild of the car, and as he drove the real thing, I "drove" the model, and he always smiled about that. He would've been about 24 at the time. It wasn't an exact replica. The real thing was a brown, stripped down, grocery getter Camaro, while the model was bright orange, and was more of a performance version. He said it was to be an inspiration for what he wanted the real car to turn out to be. Of course, those dreams never came to be, but those were good memories.
