  1. I am looking for any and all information on Dyno Don Nicholsons 1962 Bel Air. Preferably the one with red lettering and flags on the side door. Pics, reading material, decals, wich kit is best to use. Anything. Any and all help is greatly Appreciated. I am including a picture of the version I am most interested in building. Thank you. Jody
  2. That is absolutly beautiful. I have a different boat I had replaced some of the fake wood. But stalled on it because I just can not decide on a color. Nothing is better on a boat then wood!! LOL. I admire yours and the work. Question, what is that white stuff on it that you used to fill in the gaps? Thanks. Jody
  3. For scratchbuilding, I pressume with styrene, you would more then likely want a xacto miter box and razor saw. Also some good emory boards(finger nail filers) and or a set of small hobby files. Will also want a good stock of liquid glue. Tenax 7R is good, but Pro weld is just as good and usually cheaper for a bigger bottle, depending on the hobby store. You will also want either a metal piece with magnets, or something else with maybe padded clips to hold your pieces together while they cure if making such things as frames. Commen sizes I find are 1", 2" and 2"x3" stock. Also sheet plastic and flat strips. Depending on what you want to build, will depend on what ya will want for styrene. Check out JimsDollhousepages hobby scale calculator to determine what sizes you want bot standerd and metric. I hope this helps some. If you can afford it, a small hobby "chop saw" would be great for doing different angles!Jody
  4. Very cool! I have a 69 I have already started getting ready for this style of treatment and just got a clunker 68 fastback I was thinking about. Tossed between pro street, 70's pro stock, oe juat a mean n nasty street machine? Jody

  9. WOW!! You just gave me a idea on a filter. Dont like using them. However now I need to try it out! I have plenty of the medical tape, resin filters, so I can cut the top off and paint it, scratch a bottom out of plastic and I have a nice piece of mesh from the craft department!! Your build is doing wonderfull as well. Thanks. Jody

  20. Nice tip there. I have a old roll of veneer from a old workplace that I want to be using on one soon! quick tip, a nice sharp pair of scissors or good razor saw will help get the "boards" nice and smooth on the ends. You are on a great start into the hobby! Jody

  24. He knows that already. He is the person who told me that as well. I believe in his posting, that is why he mentioned to hold onto the old/bad molds? Jody
  25. Well, I have not personally done a hood yet. But I am working on a baldwin motion hood for thier "super vega" that I want to build. I will be molding and casting that. Anyways, some time ago, a good resin caster, Chris Buck shared this with me and told me at that time I could share it with others. Its a tutorial sharing his process for molding bodies. I have done something simular to this with small 2 part molds and it worked well. I am sure you could do the same thing for your hood. As for the box, you can make it out of other things as well. Just make sure whatever you use, it is sealed by one means or another. I hope it helps you. Thanks. Jody http://kustomcarz.proboards.com/index.cgi?...&thread=124
