  1. Alright. Well today I tried luke warm water and placed the body in first. Misted the paint on and not very much at all. Enough to give it a speckled look.Drew the body up and the paint acted just like a Turkey skin again and it was a no go! ISo I will certainly need to hunt copies of these articles down! Thanks. Jody
  2. I got a old MPC dune buggy kit (t bucket dune buggy) Anyways, the cragars were all damaged but one. So in order to attempt to restore it, I had to cast the good one. These rims I understand were used in some of the other show rod kits as well? I am sure these would work in other 1/20 scale tires as well for other models. To try to recover the cost of the molding, I am making a short available run on these. Mold is clean and ready. I am asking $5.00 for a set of 4. it is just the outer rim half and dust cap. Turn around time will be 3-5 weeks max once I have confirmed all of the orders. If anyone is interested, PM me. Here is a pic of it by its self, one in the original kit tire and one in the front tire of a Hard hat hauler. Thanks. Jody
  3. Do you have photobucket or fotki account? As for the kodack pictures, when you go to upload them, should be able to browse under documents, then under kodack, then in the folder they were saved. That is if I remember correctly. Its been a little over a year since I replaced my kodack camera with a HP photosmart. Also, you can change your picture settings in kodack easyshare to save them under my pictures as well. Hope this helps. Jody
  4. LOl. Yes like I said if it was for me for my dio, I would have just added a tubular rod to it. But you know I do hav strips about the right size. Could do one horizontal and two verticle. The vertice ones I could do a slight curve on the bottom of them.Once glued together mock up the frame to chassis to make sure spring sits right in the fenders, then glue to the frame. LOL. DOH!!! LOL. Thanks. Jody
  5. Very nice and clean. Love the added etail of the ruber. LOL. Jody
  6. Thank you crazyJim that is what I was told, but apparently I sprayed too much red and blue down as there was no white showing! LOl. Triel and error. If at first we dont succeed, try try again! Thats what the Kernel did with Kuntucky fried chicken! LOl. Jody
  7. Yes, the dropped axle and shocks came in my wifes kit as well, but no cross member. I could use just sca;e 2"x3" styrene and call it good if it was going into my diorama, but it is the wifes build so I want to make sure I do something a little nicer then that! LOl. Thanks. Jody
  8. Thank you crazyjim, that makes a lot of sense to me!I had asked someone who used to be a body man and has done many tye dyed models. But it just didnt add all up and the way I did it totally sucked.LOL. You way would eliminate the issue I had. Yes, I had heard not to stir it. Also was advised strongly against double dipping. Wich is a process of dipping for each color. Now someone had mention maybe blowing on the paint with a straw to help swirl it? Any one have any thing to add to that? Thanks. JOdy
  9. Well, thatss along the lines of how I did it. But the body did not fit in far enough to pull the paint onto the bottom of it(I dunked head first) so when I pulled it out, the paint folded over and wrinkled up. Big mess! Also, was advised that if I painted the body white, it would show through in spots after spraying the red and blue onot the water. Well where the apint layed, no white showed through. Dont know if I had the water too hot, or if I sprayed too much paint onto the water or what? Thanks. Jody
  10. Someone had given me some advice on how to do a tye dyed body. I just attempted it and failed miserably. Does anyone here know how that might be able to help me? I am trying to do a red/white and blue tye dye job on a grave digger body! Thanks. Jody
  11. My wife has the 37 convertable that she wants to back date. I have the front suspension and maybe a rear end. Still noeed more to go with that though. I am interested in seeing the front end of yours better to see how you handled it! Jody
  12. Sounds really great. What time period are you doing this in again? if any of thast stuff is going to be 50's-60's I might be of interest to it as well. Maybe make some resin copies for you ect.? Jody
  13. Alright, for the front you can just remove everything off of the frame and use a mustang II front crossmember and suspension. I think theres a good one in the 37 ford kit? Cant rmember correctly. On the rear, you will need to frabricate a new sub frame section. Ill PM you my mailing addy to send ya the pics I have, wich honestly is few, but should be help enopugh to get ya started. Thanks. Jody
  14. Hello. I have a 1/16 scale GMC I am converting over, and have a couple pics ect. As well as a designe I did for it. I have to go into town now, but I will get back to you. Thanks. Jody
  15. Well, after doing a quick and fun build on my last Paddy Wagon, I was very surprised at the response from it.! Someone even approached me about buying it! Well I ended up swapping for some various things instead! Now its time for me to do a Paddy Wagon in a real 70's style show rod style! Now someone had asked me about a mock up to see what it might look like. So here is a crude one! You will notice that I have removed the floor pan from the frame so that I could clean up and smooth both out. The floor will receive veneer treatment and the interior will be flocked! I will be doing a blue and white paint scheme like in this other build that someone did and is featured on Daves Show Rod gallery. Everything else I think will either be chromed or brass? Have not decided that yet? Hope you all enjoy! Jody
  16. Great start! I know I have been working on mine today! Cleaning the caulk and glue off of it and scuffing it for paint and glueing it all together. Took a lot longer then I had hoped today! But now I can move forward! Jody
  17. Very cool! I have a lil tanker coming to me very soon. next is this one and the lil yeller! I too love these kits! Jody
  18. I have used Wesleys bleech, purple power, 90% alcohal, windex ( my favorite) and oven cleaner to strip chrome. The alcy and the windex is prolly the best. If you want to bend styrene, the best way is to soak it in hot water until it is plyable. However you wont get a 90 out of it! Best way to acheive a 90 is to cut it and butt them up together! Thanks. Jody
  19. Man I must be tired, I am seeing doubles. Good thing its of a pretty one. HEHEHEHE. Jody
  20. I look forward to seeing you build that Olds!! Jody
  21. Still looks very cool! My build will require a altered intake for the blower on it! LOL. Thanks. Jody
  22. That makes sense, now I know where it came from, my boat kit. LOL. So its not a flatty then?. Darn it all. LOL. Jody
  23. Very interesting! The rear of my engine lookes like its not set up for a tranny? But, I can solve that. I was wondering about the front and you may have confirmed it. I am just unsure where the heck I got the ingine otherwise I might know better. LOL. Jody
  24. I found this in my parts box and I am unsure what it is. Is it a speed style flatty or is it a boat anchor ow what. LOL. Any help is appreciated, esp. if anyone has pics of a completed ione to help me out. Thanks. Jody
  25. Very cool. I will certailny keep them in mind. I will have to figure something out for a scot blower set up on one thats for sure! Jody
