  1. Hello there. Knew I would find ya in more places then one. HEHEHEHE. Still love this paint job! Terrific job! I am most eager to talk to you about how you mask your bodies. Thanks. Jody
  2. Well, when I get done detailing the top, bottom and adding a crank and the front and adding detail to the bottom of the heads and the Borg Warner tranny from a vette engine, I will cast them all and use it in all three as well as the block and tranny in buildable stage for my garage! LOL. Thanks. Lots of work still to be done including the crank and the cylinder heads and jugs! LOLThanks. Jody
  3. Well, I have the Baldwin Motion Camaro motor and absolutely love it! Great detail. However I always want better! Also more! Sorry, just the truth. LOL. Anyways I was hoping to use this motor in my pro-street Version of the Baldwin Motion Camaro. However decided I really needed it for my "That 70's Show Rod (Paddy Wagon) build! Fits great. However after starting my Fire Iron today, decided I needed some better motorvation for it. I wanted to use this motor. Now its awful hard to use one motor for two builds, let alone three! ROFLMBO! So I had to figure out what to do since I cant afford to buy more kits! Well decided to redefine motion and add more detail and a better tranny to it! So heres the beginning to a long project. When finished I will cast it so I can use it in many builds and esp. in my garage diorama!
  4. gregbbear, yes I did used to be in Sevierville. As you stated, that is a area for tourism and vacationers. I had worked in a pizza joint and in a custom cabinet shop. The cabinet shop was going downhill because no one was buying new homes or spending the money to redo old kitches. That boss was my landlord. Also the pizza guy was starting to have some problems. So that help motivate us to move back to NY and help her family with her Grandfather who unfortunatly did not last long.I got news in the last couple of weeks that the cabinet shop is barely hanging on and it is down to two part time shop helpers! So I would have been out a couple of months ago! The guy with the 2 Hungry Howies, Ponderosa, Waffle House and a Pizza stand in a Arcade and closed all doors and is trying to sell them and find a job before he loses his house and goes into bankrupty again! So I would have lost that one as well. At least here we have family and we were able to make it through Christmas for the kids! Believe us though, we sure miss TN greatly!! Cant wait for the right time this time to go back down! May be in 2 years, may not be for 20 years, but we sure cant wait!! Thanks. Jody
  5. Does anyone have any kind of possible contact info for them? Thanks. Jody
  6. Hello. I love those valve covers. Where in the world did you find them, or are they scratch built? Those would certainly be nice to see! Jody
  7. Yes times are getting harder. See, what I didnt get is one guy was there less then 6 months and he only runs a edge bander. I ran every operation in several cells and was the only back up for a couple of CNC's. so I though I was more secure then others. The edgbander guy kept his job? He also had used all of his time and is on what we call short time, meaning one more call in and he is fired? They had let guys go that have ben ther 4 years, 10 years, 16 years and even 20 years. I see no ryme or reason to what they did. But it is not for me to question I guess as it is no longer important. LOL. Whats important is getting ready for the day and start putting in applications and go to a local food pantry. Tomorrow we apply for helpful services. Also today I call our phone company and see what I can do about lowering the bill! Jody
  8. Hello. Thank you all for your kind words. Yes, we did see a lay off coming, but not quite so big, and there were several on disciplinary action, or on short time that were kept and others like me, that had only taken 2 hours of vacation off in the last 6 months. There were some who knew how to do only one job, I knew how to do everything in four different cells. I was also a cnc (morbidelli) operator and I was the only back up operator for two of them. There was only one other person who knew how to run mine and he was also layed off. So I was not expecting the layoff until they came and told me I had to go to a important meating at the time I was supposed to go home today! Because of this, I am rather upset over it yes. However I know that I will get over it. I will get another job. I have many times in my life! I am a little worried due to the fragile economy right now. But I know that the Lord will provide us our neccesities! Thank you all for your kind words. They mean alot to me! Jody
  9. JHDrew that is one terrific tip!! Thanks a bunch. I have a roll of that left over and a pencil like that! I will have to try it since I just removed the detail on the back of my 29 pick up after chopping it and have to redo it all! Thanks. Jody
  10. Just got the bad news, I was 1 of over 100 poeple that just got layed off from my company, Gunlockes. I had been here for only 6 months since moving up to NY from TN. So if I dont do much replying, or communicating ect, I will apologize now as I may be not in the mood, or I may be out applying for benefits like unemployment, or out beating the streets. Wish me luck guys! I will need it in this current economy so I can keep my three kids fed! Thanks. Jody
  11. Nice job on that! I like thestyle! Jody
  12. Al, this thing is looking supurb! You are outdoing yourself with this one! JOdy
  13. Looks absolutly terrific. The white drive shaft is a bonus. JK. Now you are making me want to do one! I assume you used parts from the 70 baldwin camaro kit? Thanks. Jody
  14. Hm. Isnt it fun to build and tear apart again?? LOL. Heck even some of us "better" modelers do that still!! A bad paint job here or bad decals there or something fit in dry fit, but just wont when we have it all painted, or that darn finger print at last second when you try so hard to finish one the last minute for a show and you scramble for a decal to cover it up!! LOL. My first question to you is, did you have fun! That is the most important thing to it! All else falls in line one at a time after that! Everyone has thier opinions on what works for paint. I never could do a good paint job. Heck even a month ago I was not that happy, though happy enough with a paint job. Then I hit the right process for me! I use Duplicolor automotive paint in the can. Here is a pic of my car I hit the process right on before the decals. If ya want to get tips on how I do it, PM me with your email addy and Ill be more then happy to help ya along through my steps. Thanks. Jody
  15. So If I use clear , then how Do I use that for the wrap? I assume spray it on the wrap, then when its tacky9?0 apply it? I use duplicolor automotive clear. I have never been able to use foil. But perhaps if you guys can shed some light on this using clear as a adhesive for the wrap I can try it? Thanks. Jody
  16. I can testify that dipping into the water and not being able to take it deep enough to fully cover( if you try it this way youll understand) then pulling it back out with the paiont still in there is a serious mess!Jody
  17. Those are decals from the good guys kit, placed on the monogram old iron body(slight size difference??) LOL. Jody
  18. Alright, having a rat rod/ primo rod build off in my yahoo group. So to fill in the void on my shelf and fit in, heres my project. A 29 ford convertible truck. Sectioned interior tub wich will remain tan, just be weatherd some, and a modified chassis. Will be going with a 4 banger and roll bar. Yes, a lil hot dogger so to speak. LOL. Hope you enjoy so far. JOdy
  19. Hey there Dave, PMD you about your resin stuff. No reply back yet. Dont know if you received it or not, so drop me a PM or email and let me know. Thanks. Jody
  20. Looks like a very cool start! I can never seam to find a surf/boogie board. If I ever get my hands on one I am going to have to cast it! LOL. Jody
  21. Ed, it mayt or may not. It probably will though. As for color RJ. I have not decided yet. That is a ways down the road. I am only chopping the top now and will fiddle with it. If I get happy with the resilts, then I will probable cast it. Who knows. Just something fun to do right now amungs everything else I have!! LOL. Jody
  22. Thats alright, I figured Id do a wild chop like that to be original and just got a funny email from a friend. He just got the same kit in today and chopped his 8" as well. I guess great minds really do think alike!! LOLJody
  23. I got a nice 29 goodguys ford truck kit intoday from someone here and had to bust right into it. HEHEHEHEHE. I chopped the top a scale 8", thats 5/16 of a inch. Heres the pics before spot putty and clean up. Thanks. I will make this a canvas top primo rod. Hope to cast the body when I am done I think?Jody
