  3. I thought I rmembered seeing a 1970 Chevelle l88 hood before, wich I had wanted to eventually get for a baldwin project? Jody
  4. Very interesting concept there. Just dont show my kids that! LOL. Jody
  5. I have passed this thread by before as they really are not my style of car, the skylines. But decided to ponder it this morning. I must say, one of the better looking models I have sean on here! You have donea beautiful and over the top build here. You really have done the car justice! Thanks. Jody
  6. awbcrazy, I have not gotten anything from another caster to copy if that is what you are asking. However, I had started out building 1/8 scale models. I had became a member of a group and was a member for some time there. I turned from 1/8 to 1/16 models. Eventually I had a wim to try to do a 1/16 scale boat, wich is still slowly on the works. Anyways I had been ridiculed about my process of that and I had been tempered into a hot discussion on it. Due to this, the person who owned the other site, decided to ban me as we had started to not get along anyways. I had been threatened that if I tried to make a fuss over it, I would pay. Well I certainly had no intentions of fussing over it as I had no use of the site. LOL. However I still hear rumors and get emeils forwarded to me where poeple talk about me and try to spread rumors of me trying to copy others resin mostly in large scale. Wich is all fine and dandy, because I read others issues as well and know that it is a dog eat dog world in the world of resin and either you argue it and get a bad name, or you do what you do and let your work speak the truth. That is what I intend to do and have done for the year. I dont try to make alot of money and I certainly dont sell much or produce much. I dont do 1/8 so they can acuse me of copying 1/8 and others will merly shrug it off since I dont do that scale. Also, as for 1/16, I have gotten out of it too and I am into 1/25 scale. So anyways, I hope I answered your question? Thanks. Jody
  7. Heres the rear wheel. Wide white walled pie crusts, 15" tread.Almost ready for casting. What do you think? Thanks. Jody
  8. Ist is sad news! I have recently become unemployed and I am fighting to try to do some casting just to get some cash. Its not easy. If I could help I would. though many frown upon a resin caster buying another resin casters stuff. Theres always talk and rumor wether its true or false. Anyways. I certainly hopes if he can not continue on as a full time caster that he at least can decide to stay at it part time for extra cash here and there and to keep the product available to us. Jody
  9. Sometimes that is the case. I have learned that somethings can be too difficult for me to cast, or that is with multiple part molds like 3 and 4 part molds. I just cant do them! Also someone had approached me regarding casting a piece for them, a more regular piece that you can find in any $10 kit. I had told them without charging for time, that it would be around $15 to cast the part for them. Wich I really had no interest in casting the part because it was a comen part, so perhaps should have quoted more? But I figured just charging raw cost and shipping. So as I told them, would honestly be better off buying the kit and having that much more to have around for the parts bin. Now, if it is a very rare and hard to find part, I can see doing it both for the customer and for myself. As for those wheels you are looking for, maybe put a wanted add up. Perhaps youll find more that way too? Jody
  10. Well, as everyone before me stated, the decision is yours. I feel as though perhaps you already made the decision for the camaro, and just want to be backed up for it and you are slightly hesitant on letting go of the quad. Here are my thought processes 1: you state you live somewheres, where the quad can not be ridden. The Quad is a over priced toy and a desire not some form of possible neccesity. In todays economy, it will only get harder and harder to sell or trade off the quad 2: The camaro looks not well taken care of on the inside, wich would leed one to only assume that someone has not taken the best of care witht hte mechanicals of it. However it does have nice road side appeal to it and a good detailing could make it worth a few hundred more. A car is good to have as a back up if your other vehicle happens to die or need repairs. In this time of recession, poeple may still need to buy a car so it would be easier to sell if you had to! So, personally my first thought would be to sellt he quad for cash and put it into a savings account to rely on. Never know if you may end up jobless now and need it! Or, the second choice would be to trade it for the camaro if anything then at least as a asset. Thanks. Jody
  11. Parts to me are of benefit for many things! First, the sprue is good to use by rubber cementing or gluing with elmers glue to the inside of bodies, or tacking onto other misc parts for painting. You can cut it up and "melt" it down in a half a used bottle of liquid styrene glue to make a plastic filler. You can heat it up and stretch it to make atennas or other kinds of wires, brake lines or whatever you need. You can use the piece where it starte to flare out for plugs and such. You can also use it for roll cages ect. As for the boxes, I use them for storing projects, or keeping my spare parts better organized by breaking them down into interior junk, exterior junk, chassis junk, engine junk, or bodies or chassis ect. I can also use them for making mold boxes out of for my resin casting. As for the left over parts themselves. I have hogged out rims and made new ones to fit other tires by combining htem, used bumpers on other projects. I am always looking for good glue bombs and never know when you will need say a rear end or a front axle and spring, or a different style of seats. I am continually scratchbuilding chassis to use on my parts box builds ect. I am also building a dio, so misc stuff will also be used in it for "clutter" on the benches or up against the walls, or on the shelves. I can take a bad bumper and tarnish at and heat it up and bend it and make it look like a junk bumbper the boys at the shop took off a car. Now for the unwanted items that are too new for me or I have no interest in, they always make good trade fodder eventually! Waist not, want not as I was always told! I hope this was of help. Thanks. Jody
  12. I am not sure about the heat instead of the baking? Otherwise I have heard of poeple using sculpty ect with epoxy. Only makes a few I was told. Now as for the subjecting it to enough heat to melt the plastic, I must ask why first? If you can not remove the original, then how will you remove the copies? Secondly, to melt the kit plastic, it might subject the clay to too march heat and crack it I would think? However I dont know as I never tried it that way! Jody
  13. Hey, those tops I would not even attempt yet! I am trying to slaughter a 40 ford panel right now and just dont know. Even if your tops not perfect, I can say 2 things, you saved the B pillars and it is looking good in paint! Cant wait to see all of the fancy stuff come together under the hood now! Jody
  14. Very nice ride there! I likes them older style, but the body work is spot on! You know, I knew of having to z the frame, making a hump in the floor pan with channeling it, body work and the whole nine yards. But I forgot one single item, the grill shell! LOL. Jody
  15. Very cool! Two quick questions, what kind of liquid masking do you use? Second, what do you make your shields out of? I have seen some different ways of doing these true flames done! Eventually I want to be able to! Of course, right now I am still trying to learn how to even use the airbrush! LOL. I am getting decent with alclad, but nothing else so far. Jody
  16. Would like to know who if anyone makes a resin 40 Ford Panel Van, preferably chopped and or sectioned. Thanks. Jody
  17. Rual, he actually does! I saw one of them he sold a few weeks ago. Went for a pretty Penny and a few nickels, a dozed dimes and a baggy full of guarters. But it sure was nice!!. Jody
  18. Another awesome paint job! I would like to know what you use for masking! Jody
  19. Right now I have a repop mold of the stang steelies, but not for the tires. Sorry
