  1. Very nice! I like them thaqt way. Jody
  2. I heard a rumor of a new show to be held in April, on the 25th(?) in Rochester NY. Does anyone have info? Id love to go if so as its not far for me. Thanks. Jody
  3. I think I will email them. They say its for use with models so to speak. As Art stated, it should work as these same applications from other companies has worked. SO I will try to get some details. Thanks. Jody
  4. i too am inspired by the windshield. Where did you get it, or how did you make it? Thanks. Jody
  5. I kinda know what you mean! My tastes for types of models and scales have changed over the last couple of years. I am currently liking the 70's style and some of the old shor rods. Though I can never settle on a box build, I always need to change something or add something. LOL. I look forward to seeing what you come up with. Jody
  6. That is very clean and colorful! Well done. Nice job. Jody
  7. from the looks of it, I think it was the remains of the revell 34 ford street rod kit #RMX851943. Yes, I dont have any red left. Once I get some red, I will fill in the tail lights. LOL. Thanks. Also, sorry for the fuzz on the pics. I had the shakes that I could not control. Thanks. Jody
  8. It most certainly will be different for sure! Jody
  9. Well, I had this old bomb here. I took many parts from the parts box. Painted it Testors one Coat Fiery Orange and painted the interior orange. Glued the body parts together before painting. Yes, thats right. No engine. Built this one as a static model/curbside I built this in one day. I also have a trailer to go with it. Pics of that too when its dry. I do still need to black in the body lines. Thanks. Jody
  10. Drop the fenders, use a street rod front axle. Put a lincoln flat head v-12 in it with blower, drop the hood parts and weather it gently. Jody
  11. Have been a member of the jelopy journal/HAMB for a while. Tons of great pics and ideas! Ill be nice about TRAK and not say anything there! Jody
  12. Davezinn, There was a kit available to add tracks to the rear wheels and skis to the front of old model a's. My friend Monty Lowens had done this conversion on a model himself as well. Now for the omni wheels. Interesting there. Time to do more googling. LOL. Thanks. Jody
  13. Art, yes the chinese do seem to hold the market on such things. With cheap labor, they are making and selling these lasers very cheap, then turning product around cheaper then we can because of the relaxed import costs and the higher labor rate we have. But theres always room for someone to find a niche in! Just be different and there will be a niche. Its like with this hobby, Several poeple cast parts. No one would be able to make it period if everyone made the same stuff. Its doing the different that counts! Thanks. Jody
  14. Yes, I am impressed with that 3d prnting thing myself!! Oh the possabilities with it. Mastering new models that can be molded and produced!! That would have to be much easier for the model manufacturers. May be a initial exspens, but there are so many good engineres graduating from college, they could use the programs to draw new parts and bodies, "print" them out, then they could make the molds for them! Even good for retooling old models!! I totally agree that in 10 years this hobby will be quite different in deed. Now R.I.P. Augie!! He was one modeler I used to look up to!! Well, still do. I yearn for the day I can be as good as some of those guys. I may never get there, but it will be fun trying and be nice to improve my modeling at any rate!! I am starting to lean towards the cutter/engraver. But if there is room, the Sherline or Unimat looks to be my choice of machinery for sure!Jody
  15. All very interesting points indeed! I have minimally used a wood lathe. I know what it feels like to angle a chisle the wrong direction!! No farther comments needed on that one! As for metal work, not very much in that. Its like with the laser cutter. It can do wonders. However I would need CoralDraw or a top grade photoshop. Now I used to use autocad many years ago, but I am scared of the idea of learning new sophisticated programs! There are other things like other tools, stock ect. It may just be out of my reach still. However I am content on the idea of starting a home based business that I would like to entwine with my hobbies! So I will continue to search and research!! Jody
  16. This is my alternative business idea. I have been looking at small table top laser engravers/cutters to make building kits and small diorama parts and dollhouse furnature and train building kits. Does anyone own one that would be willing to chat with me? Thanks. Jody
  17. Thank you all for the responses. Yes, I have a built PC here that just needs a new hard drive(went bad durring our 800 mile treck north) So getting the base package deal plus software I am sure would be the better way of going. My alternative that I am looking at is a laser cutter. I am weighing those options as well since I can cut and engrave it appears and for about half the price I am looking at for these? But I can say I have been wanting a lather/mill for a few years now!! LOL. Jody
  18. This is what I was eyeing as a possability? It is very pricey indeed! However if I get what I should for taxes, I could afford it. Since I am layed off indefinetly, I keep thinking about ways of getting a home based business that could make money. Mnay ideas. With this, there is a vast array of possabilities. Thanks. 21. Thank you!! I figured as much on the "templates" Thanks. Jody
  22. I actually have that kit, tried to section and chop. Thought it would be simple, but it got buggered up and I dont know now if I can fix it or not? LOl. Jody
