This time I was looking for a car that was build two times so not a 100% One-Off. Never mind the car is a 1972 Fiat 132 Zagato Aster. This prototype from 1972 is based on the 4.5 meter long Fiat 132, equipped with a 2.0L 4 cylinder engine. Two examples were built at Zagato in Milano - a green car for the Turin Auto Salon 1972, complete with a box of 8-track tapes on the passenger floor. And for the Geneva Motor Show 1973, an orange vehicle - . Both cars are different in many details. I was looking of the 1973 car, but as the cars look same except the color 1972 is also ok for me The correct answer were sent in from: thatz4u matthijsgrit Ace-Garageguy Pete J. otherunicorn Congratulation's

Autoquiz 548 - Finished
carsntrucks4you replied to carsntrucks4you's topic in Real or Model? / Auto ID Quiz
First of all an apology. I'm sorry for changing the subject of this quiz and for my absence in the last weeks. I was involved in setting up and being part of the staff of the Ford Club booth at the Techno Classica 2022 in Essen/Germany. Back to the quiz and the solution. The car is a Auto Union 1000 SP it is also called the Poor-Man's Thunderbird. The SP stands for Special . The SP was based on the Auto Union 1000 Sedan. Which has a completly different body style. The coupe was build from 1958 - 1965. In 1961 a roadster joined the coupe. The 1000 SP is powered by a 3 cylinder 2 stroke engine.. There was one guy who said it is a Auto Union 1000 which is wrong, because the 1000 was a sedan. This car was designed for the US market. It was designed by Jan Wilsgaard who also had designed the Volvo Amazon. The Volvo Philip was designed with a thought to the future, and included many new features such as automatic transmission, power assisted steering and servo-brakes. This six-seater car was powered by a 120 h.p. V8-engine which gave it a very good performance. The problem with Philip was that it was too modern. The Swedish market, which then dominated Volvo sales, was not ripe for large and comfortable cars during the 1950's. The average car buyer was not interested in an automatic transmission or a powerful V8-engine. It is reported that The Philip was constructed from early fifties Henry J and Kaiser Manhattan parts, right down to the Henry J "V" in the hood and trunk, to the tail lights, the "widow's peak" in the windshield and backlight, the bumpers, doors (The dip in the rear door is a dead giveaway), Even the color is classic Kaiser. According to Hemmings The Philip was a 1953 model and was presented to the public on May 22, 1953. Other sources like Secret Classics say it is a 1952 model. So both year are ok for me.
