  2. This time I was looking for a Saurer D290 from Switzerland. Saurer hat build these trucks until 1983 when they closed their civil truck branch. Nowadays Saurer manufactures textile machines. Spome said it is a Berna D290. Berna was also a swiss truck manufacturer that was bought by Saurer in 1929. You could order the Berna name and logo as an option instead of the Saurer name plate. Those truck were 100% identical so it isn't easy to tell if it is a Berna or Saurer. The correct answer were sent in by: DRIPTROIT 71 VW93 thatz4u Congratulations. Do to the very low response on the truck quiz in general I'll do this quiz no longer alternating with the Auto quiz. It will be done in a randomly sequence. Sorry for that

Everything had been liquidated by 1955 and the company closed. The very last Corbitt truck was build in 1958 out of service part. 23. The picture shows the first ever built Leader Challenger B-Series parked outside of Rosenthal Enterprise at Rocklea/QLD, Australia where the B-Series fibreglass-cabs were build. Leader was a truck manufacturer established in 1971 in Toowoomba/QLD. The first truck that Leader produced was a COE the 8x4 Leader LF. For the LF-Series Leader had used fibreglass Mack F-Series cab. With the termination of the Mack F- Series cab delivery by Mack in 1975, Leader start building there own fibreglass-cab for the A-Series COE. In 1979 Leader brought ther first conventional model to market. This time the used Nissan UD firberglass-cabs with a there for own bonnet/hood. The B-Series was available 4x2 or 6x4 configuration. They were powered by Caterpillar 3306, Caterpillar 3406 GM&V92 and GM8V92 engines. Transmissions options are etan-Fuller Roadrangers with 9,13 and 15 speeds or 14 speed Spicer spoiler. Sales started early 1980 but the sales figures were low, although the truck had received good reports in the national truck industry magazines. It seems that only 25 -30 Challengers mostly as prime movers were build. The main reason for these low figures as that the competion to contend with was higher that on the A-Series. In March 1984 Leader built the last ruck a A6X6-208. If you are interested in the history of Leader Trucks I can highly recommend Rob Laurent book Leader Trucks - The Australian Challenger The correct answer were sent in by: Brizio plastic trucker thatz4u DRIPTROIT71 otherunicorn Congratulations
