  5. I think that the first truck quiz was a success. From 1972 to 1980 Scot trucks built 1155 trucks at their plant in Debert, Nova Scotia, near Truro. Parent company Irving (which included Irving Oil, J.D.Irving Ltd and a host of subsidiaries) needed trucks and found that assembling components allowed them to avoid the high duties on complete vehicles. It also allowed them to deal directly with suppliers for engines, transmissions, etc., The trucks were quite modern and even revolutionary for their time, with several innovations. However by today's standards they were pretty basic. For the Scot A1S Ford Louisville cabs together with their own hood. 12. This car is a 1952 Studebaker Z-87 or Porsche Type 542. Sudebake had asked Porsche to designe a 4 Door car for them. The first concept was in principle a 4 door Porsche 356, But Studebaker rejected it. They wanted a bigger front engined car. Porsche presented the Type 542 or Z-87 to Studebaker but the rejected this proposal as well. 18. I saw this car at the Deezer Collection in Miami in 2013. It is a 1948 Frazer Manhattan. Some said it is a 1947 but the '47 had only 2 bumper guards and not 4 like the '48 model. In principal those members had failed but I said thats ok because there are no other visible differences between a 1947 and 1948 model. 19. After the hunchback Taunus from last week here the new challenge for this week. Again here the rules for the Autoquiz and One-Off Build Quiz because some people don't know the rules No answers allow in the ongoing Auto quiz thread No comments in the ongoing Auto quiz thread that give any clues or suggestion to the car in question A PM must be sent to the one who has started the ongoing thread The PM must contain Year of production, Manufacturer and Type In case of violating the rules the quiz will closed immediately and no winners will be announced So please stick with the rules and don't ignore them.
  20. The solution for this quiz is a 1939-42 Ford Taunus G93A / 1948-52 Ford Taunus G73A. It is called Buckeltaunus in German or Hunchback-Taunus. I principal the pre and post war version were the same car. The in the picture is a 1950 G73A. Interesting to know is the fact that the first prewar Taunus bodies were assembled at VW in Wolfsburg and Karmann in Osnabrueck due to the lack of capacity and space at the Cologne plant. Ambi-Budd in Berlin was the original manufacturer of the body during pre war times. After long negotiations with the soviet military authorisations the tooling was sent to western Germany. After the war only Ford trucks wer manufactured in Cologne The correct answer were sent in by otherunicorn dw1603 Bucky Matt Bacon Richard Bartrop matthijsgrit Blunc DonW gbtr6 VW93 Congratulations
  21. It is a bit quite on this quiz. Here a hint. The car had replaced a car that was named after a german low mountain range and it was build before and after the war nearly unchanged.
  22. And here the new car for our quiz. Sent PM with Year, Make and Type Here again the rules for the Autoquiz and One-Off Build Quiz because some people don't know the rules No answers allow in the ongoing Auto quiz thread No comments in the ongoing Auto quiz thread that give any clues or suggestion to the car in question A PM must be sent to the one who has started the ongoing thread The PM must contain Year of production, Manufacturer and Type In case of violating the rules the quiz will closed immediately and no winners will be announced So please stick with the rules and don't ignore them.
  23. This time I was looking for a car that was only build three times. It was the attempt to revive an old British car manufacture named Allard Motor Company. Allrad was known in the '40 and '50 for the J2 and J2X. In 1992 they want to create a new road going car based on the Lexus LS400. The car was presented to Toyota in the hope that they would agreed to manufacture a small series of the Allrad P4. It didn't work out. I think it is impossible to modify a boring car into something different than a more boring car. The correct answer were sent in by: Bucky Brizio dw1603 otherunicorn DonW Congratulation
