  1. Looks great and very convincing details!!!!
  2. Sorry for being a "nit-picker" but the Roth custom recently found in Mexico was the Orbitron, not the Mysterion. //Darryl
  3. Very sorry to disappoint You Ed, but the stock roof is already long gone!!!! I'm a big fan of Darryl Starbird and his bubbletop-customs, so I'll stick to that theme. BTW I'm doing a '62 Chrysler 300 that way as well.....
  4. I've finally decided on making this one into a "starbird-inspired" Bubbletop-custom. I've also extended the fins a little.
  5. I needed a break from my longtime-project, Mercedes Benz Wrecker, so I looked into my pile of kits and found this old Fury. It needed a little TLC as you can see.... (sorry about that big first picture) So, with a new #11 and some dremeling along with a major parts inventory here's what it looks like right now..... Now... Q is, should I let the roof remain stock or should I chop it? Or, should I go all the way and make it a Starbird-inspired Bubble-top Custom??? I still haven't decided on the grille-treatment, but I guess a pretty simple ribbed grille would look decent, right? And...maybe repeat that theme for the rear? Any input welcome!
  6. Awesome looking machine!!!!
  7. Well, the bottom isn't really very much to see. About the pedals and pedal-arms.... I simply copied the real thing! Found excellent ref.pics on the net. Here's a pic to show it's size compared to an AMT Manx in 1/25.
  8. Built as a pedal-car with working steering/pedals.
  9. My only built-up van at the moment. A 1953 VW Barndoor bus, created from a Revell 1967 issue VW-bus.
  10. Amazing craftsmanship in that build! Well done!
  11. Awesome Machine! Me likes a lot!
  12. Sounds great! This time You'll get the opportuinty to catch a swedish member on photo! Just keep Your eyes open for a short, fat and baldy guy wearing a T-shirt with Chromecop printed all over the chest...
  13. These trucks (actually vans...) seem to be pretty rare. So far I've spotted, and bought, 3 on Ebay in 8 years. Here's a picture I had saved on a CD.
  14. Well, I'm not sure but I might have a pic of the original van. I check it out once I get back home from work tomorrow!
  15. Well, You've all probably noticed by now that I'm a VERY slow builder... But, here are some new pic's of this build.
  16. Finally some new pic’s.
  17. First mock-up took part in the hobby-room this evening.
  18. Well over here (Sweden) the people usually have to get a taxi or something.....
  19. Finally, the engine for my Mercedes crew-cab is finished.
  20. Finally some progress....Engine almost done!
  21. Today I started the engine-build using lotsa different engine-parts from the scrap-box.
  22. That was no kit at all, it was a friction driven toy! Everything else will be scratchbuilt.
  23. Well, if you by base mean the cab, it was pirated from a friction driven toy. If you mean the frame, it's being scratchbuilt in evergreen styrene using the blueprints for a real 1:1 scale Mercedes Van.
  24. Well, actually this one's supposed to be a "phantom" tow truck. It's a rare sight in europe as well, seeing a crew-cab tow-truck. But, taking a frame from a MB 613 van and put on a crew cab wouldn't be that hard to do in real life! This one will be a race-car hauler when finished but It'll have the look of a former tow-truck.
  25. The frame is almost complete!
