  1. So far I've only built a model of one of the 20 cars I've had in full scale. This has been my daily driver since oct 2004. Last oct (2013) I bought a newer one, a 2006 model so I will shortly sell the old one. As You can see, I didn't only make a model of the car, but also of me and my lovely wife! I plan to switch the wheels as I have 18" wheels on the car these days (picture was taken in 2006)
  2. Great work!! the Kübel chassie is actually quite good already as is, but Your detailing is just awesome!
  3. Very nice save!
  4. Very cool! Me likes alot!
  5. Cool build, me likes!
  6. OK, so...how many of You knew about these two kits Before today? Made by Company Scalecraft and the estimated scale (according to the figure driver) is 1/29 or thereabout. DKW Munga by Company Leyla. Scale is given on the box 1/26. And yes...they´re both in my stash!
  7. Some patience and a bit of luck is actually all that you need. I've finally managed to get all 7 Renwal Revival cars, most of them builtups, at very fair prices on the 'bay. Only took me about 15 years and about 150-200 bucks TOTAL!
  8. I guess some people would say I ONLY have weird kits in my stash...but that's not true! However, IMHO the most weird kit I have is the Aurora/Polar Lights Guillotine. The scale is (I think) 1/12 and I bought it for nostalgic reasons (I built one as a kid) and because I'd like to copy it in 1/25 scale, which will be easier to do when I can check out all the measures of the large kit!
  9. And, speaking of rare kits....here's one You don't see to often: Box says scale 1/24 but I'd say about 1/28 or so would be more accurate! The body is totally out of proportions and the multipiece-type. from a few yards distance and using A LOT OF IMAGINATION it looks like a Mercedes...LOL!
  10. 1. I'd like to build a replica of my -97 S10 4x4 p/u 2. I'd also like to build a VERY VERY early type Land Rover, maybe even a prototype if I could find enough material while doing research on that subject! 3. I'd like to build a replica of the very first AMT Blazer I built in the mid 70's.
  11. Yep, wrong scale on the box. I've had at least two of the MK Modelle "texan" and it's a 1/32 scale kit. Tires are molded in black plastic, not rubber. I still have a built one that is fully chromed!!!
  12. Of all the car model-kits mentioned in this thread...to me, the most rare must be the Premiere Studebaker Champ pickup as I'd never even heard about it until this very day!!!!! I'd love to see a picture of it! The Chevy 1911 is truly a rare one, but I do have one of them and have seen about a handful for sale on the 'bay over the past 15 years. The Uncertain T, one of the coolest showrods to my knowledge, is also quite rare, but I have three gluebombs in my basement and they are poppin' up on the bay several times a year! The 1956, or so, Lincoln Premiere by Ideal is also quite rare but I've bought one and seen at least two more for sale since 1998 on the 'bay so they're rare, but not THAT rare IMHO. The 1924-26 Hanomag Kommisbrot may be rare in the US, but not in Europe. I have 2-3 of them and they can often be found on the German Ebay at fair prices. I believe the most rare kit in my collection is a military DKW Munga. The scale is "about 1/25" and it was produced by some eastern europe manufactor, can't recall the name right now. It's MIB but will most likely be built one of these days. I've NEVER seen another one of that DKW Kit !!!!!!
  13. This one was supposed to be built exactly like the custom version on the side of the old AMT box. However, I thought it'd look better with a minor chop to the roof and some lowering in the back along with White-line tires. So, I redid the boxart in the PC and printed a new copy which I glued to the box and THEN built a copy in 1/25 scale!!!!
  14. Yep ! Jo-Han Caddy Hearse and Monogram Uncertain T , but only when I can get them for "pocket-money". I'd never spend big bucks on a kit as I want to BUILD them, not collect them....
  15. I'd love to see more old European cars like: 1st gen Volvo 444 (1947-52 with split windows front and rear) Volvo Amazon/121 Saab 92 (Saabs very first car) Jaguar XJ6 or 12 1960's Mercedes Benz 600 Pullman Limousine
  16. Awesome looking Ghia, well done! However, to me...with those taillights, it looks more lika a pre 1970 Ghia. I'm really not an expert though.....
  17. This is a really interesting build to follow!!!! Looking forward to the finished result. Below are pic's of the 3 split's I've built from the Gunze Oval. The grey one and the fenderless rod are beckdated to 1938 KdF-specs while the copper/pink one is supposed to be a 1949/51 mix:
  18. WOW!!! This is about the coolest looking bug I've seen in scale!
  19. 1938 VW Prototype all scratchbuilt 1940/41 VW Kübelwagen all scratchbuilt 1953 VW 23 window van all scratchbuilt
  20. It's hard to pick just ONE favourite....and I really do like the AMT 1949/-50 Fords...but the kit I've built most and also have most of is the Gunze 1956 VW. UI've built 4 different versions so far and have 6 or 7 kits on the shelf just waiting!
  21. This Century body style was built (with only minor changes) between 1967 and 1996/1997. In 1997 a totally new Century body was released.
  22. This li'l "monster" has been upgraded with some more weaponry !
  23. This started as a 1956 Gunze oval. Bodywise I backdated it to 1938 prototype specs and then rodded it in the classic, fenderless way:
