How to get better decals printed...?

Alps is what I was thinking of, not nearly cost effective for me... I will check out Kinko's, and ask around here. Thanks Allen -
I am looking at getting some decals made, my dinky deskjet just will not suffice. Who would I contact to have them printed so they look somewhat professional? I know there is a certain printer a lot of guys use but for the life of me, can't remember what it is called. Is there anyone here on the forum who would be interested in printing them for me? I would gladly do some trading or pay for them. Below is the set I had in mind. Let me know if any of you know who could do this for me! I want Two of ^these^ at 7/8" wide x 1 1/8" long And two of ^these^ at 1/2" wide (length to be determined by width)

Dude, super cool build, I love the detail and that resin body looks VERY nice, I might have to find one for myself! Congratulations on an awesome build, and way to put those Nascar kits to GOOD use!

Thanks guys, I too have a dislike for the massive flake, but in this case, it looks much better in person. Just experimenting with new colors... -
Monogram 1940 Ford pickup
Sam Cates replied to Sam Cates's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
Got a few shots in the sun today, I think it looks much better in natural light! -
Well I dug up a couple old Monogram '40 Ford pickups from a box junk stash a friend gave me, one was the old Lemon Crate and the other a re-release in red. Both were in ruins but I had enough parts to get one together. (mostly from the red kit) I used a Revell 5.0 HO Ford engine from the parts box, painted it Dark Bronze Metallic. Two tone tan/brown interior, lowered the rear and added bigger tires. The tonneau cover is also from the parts bin. I will try to get it out in the sun tomorrow for some better photos. Hope everyone likes it!

VERY nice, excellent details!

It is a shame they couldn't keep that car in production longer, a few years ago I read that they were being put back into production. I sure would LOVE to have one!

Just sprayed it straight from the can then cleared it.

Got the resin stuff from here... http://www.policecarmodels.com/1pocarlisiol.html I added red lenses from my parts box.

This is a Revell '64 Impala lowrider kit, put some detail into the engine, plumbed the hydraulic pumps, added Chevrolet rally wheels. Paint is Rust-Oleum Colorshift over black base. Hope you like it!

I finally got away from life long enough to get back to the bench for a bit, started back up with a couple simple builds I had going before. This is the RM 1937 Ford Panel Delivery kit with the new Revell '38 front end. Engine is almost fully detailed, roof lights and siren are resin parts. Hope everyone likes it, feel free to comment!

DENCON - No longer taking website orders
Sam Cates replied to Drake69's topic in Car Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
Pretty freakin brutal, I am waiting on some stuff I ordered in February from Dencon too. I'll wait it out a little while, Paypal has my back if I have any problems. I will give him to the end of the year, I have plenty of other projects to work on for now. Thanks for shedding some light on the subject though! -

Sweet, looks like if I can push the engine back far enough I can squeeze it under the hood! -
One suggestion would be to hit the LHS and check out the Evergreen/Plastruct section, take the old part with you (if you can) and find some sheet plastic about the same thickness, take it home and start cutting, good start at scratch building. Another option would be...I saw an old AMT Ford Probe kit at one of my LHS and I think it is running $10 or so, plus my discount, if you want, I could snag it if it is still there and send it to you. IF I can get it, all I ask is that you pay shipping (around $10) and it is yours...again that is, IF I can still find it. If that sounds like something you are interested in, shoot me a PM and I will head to the store Saturday and try to find it, if not, I know quite a few friends close by who would be willing to give one up. Let me know! Sam

Stand to hold car while airbrushing
Sam Cates replied to rctori's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I bought this convenient little set up a couple years ago, nifty little things with carousel bases, I use the hell out of it. I think I paid around $18 at Hobby Town. Made by Tamiya. -

Hey Rob, if you have a Revell 37 Ford pickup, would you mind test fitting the hood over that Ardun mill? I am going to buy the F-1 kit this week but I wanted to know if I can use the OHV heads on my 37 without slicing up the hood. Either way, thanks in advance! -

Looks like that's going to be one mean flat bed Ford man! Where did you get the Ardun parts? -

"...and all the Jag could see were my six tail lights..." Okay, one of the three entries is finished, I hope tomorrow I can pick up some BMF and some wire to get going on the other two. This kit was pretty bad as far as quality of the parts, tons of flash to remove, I was tempted to throw it out. I did a little wiring and plumbing on the engine as well as a (not great looking) throttle assembly. I also wanted to put the shield on the distributor but it didn't pan out, I might build one to fit later. The kit did not come with a throttle body, radiator hoses or a side mirror so I snagged the stuff from my parts bins. I am still waiting on new printer ink to make my license plates. I also took these photos before I put the side mirror on, but it does have one now. -
