  1. Thanks for the info Chuck. Looking forward to getting some of those decals.
  2. Got a few models over the years at Christmas. The one I remember most was a Jo Han 1960 Plymouth.
  3. When this kit does come out it will be interesting to see how many faults with it the nitpickers on here will find.
  4. AMT 1960 Ranchero, AMT 1965 Galaxie, Revell Glidden T-bird, Monogram Slingster Dragster, Revell Mongoose Duster and MPC Kalitta Mustang. Merry Christmas to me!
  5. The picture in gtx6070's post was taken at Detroit Dragway. Jay Howell was driving. At that time it was not a wheel stander. It was intended to race A/FX cars. It was running in the mid 10s at 135 MPH.. As testing went on adjustments were made and they just couldn't keep it on the ground. Later it was turned over to Bill Golden and as they say The rest is History!
  6. The kits should be molded in gray or white. I was quite disappointed to find that the MPC Hot Rod Mustang funny car was molded in white and black.
  7. Thanks for the info. I would much rather dear with the one piece chassis.
  8. Does the current issue Revell Jungle Jim Vega have the old 2 piece chassis or the new one piece chassis like the Mongoose Duster?
  9. Really a shame that Revell never came out with that Mustang.
  10. Rembember guys back then the cars looked like real cars.
  11. Just wondering if anyone makes Gratiot Auto Supply decals.
  12. Don't you hate it when you have a 50% off coupon from Michaels and they don't have even one kit you want.
  13. Ed had two slightly different stock roof Willys bodies. Both of them are very nice.
  14. Southern Motorsports Hobbies has an interior tub. Looks like it was mastered from an old MPC Duster kit. I think I paid $12. I also have their Demon pro stock kit but that was different than the one for the Duster.
  15. Correct color for the Bob Ford T Bolt would be Champaign Gold which I think is available from Model Master.
  16. T Bolt you have your Bob Ford colors backwards. Gold and black was first in '64. It was yellow when driven by Kenny Vogt in '65. In '66 it was metallic blue and orange and raced by Expressway Gulf. As delivered the Bob Ford car was burgundy.
  17. I built quite a few of those for my son. I had some extra 1/25 decals and did some cutting and used them on the 1/32 cars. I did Ramchargers, Jungle Jim, Mongoose, Gene Snow and several others that I can't remember. I had a lot of fun doing them. In fact if they were available now I'd build some more.
  18. MPC Pinto Pro Stocks either Dyno Don or Gapp & Roush. I have four and I think the parts to build another. Also have several stock Pinto kits for parts use.
  19. I've got three of those along with aftermarket decals and I'm not looking forward to building them. One thing wrong with the kit is that the wheelbase is too long for the Mustang and the chassis needs to be shortened. I think I'll put these kits at the bottom of the pile. Has anyone tried using that body with a Revell or MPC chassis?
  20. I did some more research on the Leal car and Walt is correct, the car was not black. The Cady decals are wrong .Bob Ford sponsored several T-Bolts. The Len Richter 4 speed car was gold with a black top. In 65 it was painted yellow and driven by Kenny Vogt. It ran mostly in A/MP.They also had a gold & black automatic car. It did not have Thunderbolt on the rear quarter panel. A third car was T Bolt Too. Whole car was same color with a dark hood bubble. Most likely gold/black. They also sponsored a car for Emmett Rattlesnake Austin who ran it down south. It was white. He converted it to an altered wheelbase car and painted it black.
  21. The Butch Leal Thunderbolt with the 427 logo on the door was Burgundy. The California Flash car was in fact black. Try Krylon Brushed Metallic Champagne Nouveau for the interior. It is a satin finish and looks pretty close to the T Bolt interior color.
  22. Most of the factory '64 wedge cars were hardtops. All of the factory hemi cars were 2 door sedans. Many of the hardtops were updated with the hemi. The Larry Davis Super stock book had lots of errors. One of them was the color of the Lawman. It was not candy red. As a person who saw the car in person in 1964 I can say for sure that it was bronze and not red. The Aed car has a slight red look to it which is due to the lighting when the photo was taken. Turbine Bronze Metalic was used on Plymouth engines in 1958 but I'm guessing that the car might have painted by the Alexander Brothers so it could have been some custom mix. Looks like the same color was used on the Golden Commandos cars in 1965.
  23. I'm from Detroit. I go to the EAA Convention every year in Oshkosh. I make it a point to stop both at Model Empire and Greenfield Hobbies. I do think that Model Empire's prices are a bit better but I enjoy spending time in each one.
