  1. Turned out great. I wasn't sold on the ride height on your mockup, but you had a better vision of it than I, because it looks good. Nice work.
  2. I revived a topic HERE that may not answer your specific question but you might find it very helpful to glimpse what other folks have done.
  3. It's been a year and a half. This thread is worth keeping alive. Here's my contribution... Corvette Engine Audi R8 V-10
  4. Some fun fresh stuff there. No slouches in that bunch.
  5. Duuude. You are totally underselling yourself. That's a lot of work and everything came out right.
  6. For almost the entire daypart, CNBC is news and finance driven. Even in primetime their anchor shows are business oriented like Shark Tank and The Profit. Hopefully they'll reassess the format, not try to skew quite so young with the video game pace and superficial info and listen to what loyal (serious) viewers want to see. I think they could do that and still keep it engaging to the kind of young viewers who would put CNBC on their viewing radar.
  7. I only caught the episode with the race-off with Tim Allen. WAY too contrived and phony to bear watching any more. Jay, stick to what you know and leave the acting to professionals and other reality shows. I think I should probably reassess my opinion by watching a different episode because everyone else seems to like the show. I want it to be good because I'm a fan of Jay and show's concept.
  8. The more projects I start the fewer I finish so these last few years I've stayed focused on most projects from start to finish and not indulge my urge to start something else. However there's always time to lay plans for another project, just don't actually start it. That also goes for not indulging my urge to add to my stash.
  9. If that's a quick build you did a great job Doc. Looks like a lot of fun. Every minuscule detail looks great. I'd really, REALLY like to see that Danny.
  10. Yeah, that engine really sits back there. Excellent ambitious work so far. Is that an exhaust dump under the door?
  11. As troublesome as these kits are, I think they're worth building because they look so good complete and yours is no exception. Looks really good.
  12. There are two technics that can serve you well, depending on the need. Sometimes it just easier to cut the long thin strips on the sheet, then carefully lay and adjust as you go, no involved trimming needed once it's down. Each model I do I use both technics.
  13. I'd take your disappointing builds all day long. Everything looks great to me. Beautiful work.
  14. I'm a big fan of art from found objects so naturally I really really like this. I think it takes a certain talent to make the objects flow harmoniously and look like they have purpose. People like you make it look easy. It's not as easy as it looks.
  15. Excellent. These always build up into something interesting. Looking forward to it. Depending on how long ago you got it, that could be one of mine. I cast and sold a few in the early 2000s. Straight casting so bodies were a little thin.
  16. My thinking was that the off road idea would attract some of the post apoc folks, but without the taint of violence and evil. I would also back a box build idea. It could help retire from my stash one of any number of kits that I have no particular plans for.
  17. I hate to tell you this Steve, but that's one of those colors that is heavily effected by the color of your light. As a graphic designer it was demonstrated to us in a seminar when we were asked to identify a color very similar to this under room light, then look at it again outside and see the color difference. What you've done looks pretty good, but if you really want to count rivets, mix it under the kind of light you expect it to be viewed under the most.
  18. I'm ready for a back roads race. Cannonball Grey Roads. Any vehicle with 4WD or AWD. Could be rally car, truck, conversion, mash-up.
  19. I've been returning to the PT Cruiser lately and this week I finished up the R8 V-10 engine. I must say, hats off to Revell, it's an amazing piece. All the parts fit seemingly seamlessly with crisp decals to help detail it. Though I'm not a super car fan, it's hard not to love the fit and finish of the Audi. I agree with a couple reviews I've read that it's a shame some of that well engineered detail goes unseen once it's assembled. A quick look at the chassis. The 5-piece suspension on all four corners had to be raised to get the car "out of the weeds" and to stock height. Still under construction, but this is where I'm at.
  20. Geez Drew, Excellent. Now I have to go see what the drama was about.
  21. Nice to see you back again Krishna. Your stuff is always worth taking close look at, as these are. Nice work
  22. Fun car. Good job. All the little details make this stand out.
  23. If respectable build means a really snappy looking racer, then yes, it's respectable.
  24. Thanks for the pics Tim. Certainly gets the brain gears grinding away. Lots of inspiration.
