  1. I promise that all three of these will be completed and pics will be put up!
  2. At least I have incentive for the Merc' - my better half asked me to build it, picked out the color, the grille, hood, side skirts, tire, wheel, and bumper options, and now asks me regularly how it's coming along. I do love it when she takes an interest, it's a great motivator.
  3. I need to focus!! I'm delaying completion of the Gremlin because I hate foiling. Once I do the trim, the rest will fall in place in an afternoon. I found a Lindberg '32 Ford (the one that builds 3 ways) at Hobby Lobby for $10 yesterday and now I'm eyeballing that!!
  4. Right now I have a near completed AMC Gremlin with a chassis and engine from a '49 Merc and the filled body of the '48 Ford Coupe... Why is it so hard to stay on one subject at a time sometimes???
  5. This guy is my new hero - the work here is incredible! http://www.miniwerks.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=890&whichpage=1
  6. Great pics, Tommy. You got a large amount of kits that I missed. I ended up falling behind on time and didn't even get to see many of these, nevermind photograph them.
  7. Thanks Tommy, I pulled a muscle on Monday. I was happy that it bounced back enough that I was able to stay on my feet all day yesterday. The first couple of days were rough until I worked the kinks out. Between that and the leaky pipe discovered in my garage at 12:30AM on Saturday, I was sure that someone - or something - was trying to keep me from going!
  8. Doug - I moved here in 2001. I wish I knew you when you were here - I could use some hands-on advice, particularly when it comes to paint.
  9. Yep. It was packed! I'm off to shower and get some food. I am beat. Enjoy the pics. I apologize for the quality on some. I was using a new camera and I was having trouble finding the right settings.
  10. I don't think I saw that one... I'm not sure. I have to be honest, it was packed at times and it was hard to get pics of everything. Add to that that I had to carefully maneuver over other models to take pics and it added to the challenge. I did get the Hudson diorama and some so-so pics of a huge diorama of rusted cars.
  11. No problem, Dr. Cranky!
  12. And for anyone interested, I purchased the AMT Gremlin reissue, the Moebius Chrysler 300, the Model King 1969 Camaro Funny Car, The Chevelle Superwagon, and a Hobby Heaven reissue of Ohio George Montgomery's Multi Maverick. I'd never seen this one before. I pretty much bought everything at Model King's table - his prices were phenomenal - the kits, in order, were $17, $18, $20, $17, and $20. That's $92 for kits I would have paid about $125 for elsewhere. Not too shabby!
  13. Here's a link to some 400+ pics I took today. Believe it or not, I ran out of time (and energy because of some lingering back pain) and didn't even cover every table. http://s6.photobucket.com/albums/y235/Danr67/NNL%20East%202012/ I was able to meet some great people - Dave Burkitt from Model King, Gene Sisemore, Donn Yost, Doug Whyte, Ed Sexton, and Tony Hipp from Alclad. I also bought 5 kits mostly new stuff), a sheet of Slixx decals, Yost's DVD, three bottles of Alclad candy pearls, and few other odds and ends. It was a great time - I just wish the room wasn't so ###### hot!!!
  14. Just a few basics. The body is Testors One Shot Electric Pink. The gloss black is actually the Wal-Mart Color Place Gloss Black that comes in the big can for about $1. I covered the black parts of the body with Future floor wax. The only thing not right out of the box is the roof. I ran a couple of strips of styrene across it vertically, laying them down with super glue and then sanding the where the glue overflowed. My original intent was either to do a two tone color with one on the outer parts and maybe a white on the inside (similar to the interior). In the end, I just decided to go all black and leave it as is.
  15. I had fun with this kit but I didn't love it. I don't see myself ever building another one. But I hope you enjoy my not very unconventional take on it.
  16. Scott, The decals arrived yesterday and they look great! Thanks so much for hooking me up with these. If you ever find yourself needing something, let me know. If I have it, and have no use for it, it's yours! - Dan
  17. Are you kidding? You're doing me the favor! As long as the sheet is complete, I'm cool with whatever method you use to send it. Thanks again, Scott. Now I can build this car without paying collector prices!
  18. That would be great. I can send you a few bucks for them if you'd like! My address is: Dan Ricchezza 46 Portland Ave Redding, CT 06896 Thanks!!
  19. Ed, that was their intent - they wanted to transform it into a Speed Racer-type cartoon car.
  20. You guys are good, it started out as a 240Z. I love Car Warriors. The All Stars are pretty much All A$$holes, but I love watching the finished result!
  21. If you've watched Car Warriors, you already know the answer. This was (in my opinion) a very cool transformation!
  22. Scott, No luck on those Carpenter decals so far, but thanks for asking!
