  1. Used a Miss Deal chassis for the project. Funny how I’ve used this chassis at least 4 other times, yet I’ve never built one with the Studebaker body. Injected small block is perfect. Hood scoop choice is to be determined.
  2. How's this for inspiration? I thought that this car was absolutely insane! So, of course, I have to build it! Starting with a heavily damaged promo body, I'm underway!I have to cut out the hood. I moved the rear wheel openings forward to mimic the photos
  3. This was the MPC Kenz and Leslie kit from I don't know when. I started building it MANY years ago and got frustrated with a few things. Mainly the body and parts fit. I tripped across it a while back and decided to finally finish it. I'm glad that I did. It came out ok . I didn't go all out with the detailing but enough to get her done to my current level of satisfaction (low!) I made the decals using a new Canon (cheapo) printer and some old decal paper. They came out really well. I used BMF on the aluminum floor. Looks ok Big pictures show that I forgot do install the valve cover breathers. I'll get to that immediately!? THE END!
  4. Top notch replica!
  5. Well done!
  6. Yep, that’s exactly what happened! It was spectacular!
  7. I don’t think that I will ever come close to your ability but you have inspired me to keep trying!?
  8. THAT is a top tier build! Fantastic photos too! WF
  9. Thanks to everyone that replied! Very much appreciated ?
  10. That was the first race that I ever attended at E-Town. I remember that wheelstand vividly!
  11. Great job! One of my favorites, Here's a suggestion. Pose it like this , and the stance won't matter!?
  12. Another photo from NYNS opening season on
  13. I did not have a printer or decent computer until a few days ago. I made the decals for the ramp truck finding similar fonts to what Speedwin used for their logo. Only cost me about $1500! I’ll probably find other users for the computer and printer that might bring the cost per decal down.?
  14. The decals were made for me by STS CustomizedByDesign@yahoo.com They did a good job!
  15. Other things you notice, like '' Where's the upper radiator hose? It was still on the painting stick!
  16. A friend and I decided that we would build some cars that we had seen at what was once our local track ( New York National Speedway - born 1965 - died 1980 ) I found a couple of photos of the Speedwin Automotive 1965 Plymouth that were taken sometime during 1965. Using parts from a Moebius Belvedere kit and their AWB kit I was able to put this modified A-990 car together. Paint is Duplicator basic white with decals created by STS. Although I've put quite a few of these Moebius '65s together without a hitch, this one fought me in certain fitment areas. The interior tub had an interference issue with the body by the rear quarter window so I had to trim the top of the interior panel. The rear glass would not fit the window frame. It was too small! That was solved with a piece of acetate (which looks better , anyway) Aside from those few issues, I think that it turned out ok. I noticed a couple of things in the photos. Funny how you don't see them until AFTER you post. Yep, the door to the shop was installed upside down. I ll get the contractor back to fix that ( he doesn't speak English too well). The other was my thumb in one picture . I just can't unsee it!?
  17. I've had those kind of long term projects. Yours has evolved extremely well! Super detail work!
  18. Cool ! The car most memorable for it's giant wheelstand at Englishtown.
  19. They evolved very quickly in ‘65!
  20. Wanting to build this version of the early Paper Tiger , I could only find warped resin bodies so I decided to make my own. Two Moebius bodies were used for this project. I grafted the awb hard top lower section on to the sedan. It was more difficult than expected. Next time , I'll cut and move the wheel openings. Paint is automotive that I had put in cans for me. The red and the blue are the correct Ford paint codes used by S&M up until 1970. The decals are from Slixx .
  21. Plagiarism! I hate when people copy my masterpieces!
  22. Great job! Paint is perfect. WF
  23. That’s what I’m talking about! Lol
