Used a Miss Deal chassis for the project. Funny how I’ve used this chassis at least 4 other times, yet I’ve never built one with the Studebaker body. Injected small block is perfect. Hood scoop choice is to be determined.

How's this for inspiration? I thought that this car was absolutely insane! So, of course, I have to build it! Starting with a heavily damaged promo body, I'm underway!I have to cut out the hood. I moved the rear wheel openings forward to mimic the photos

This was the MPC Kenz and Leslie kit from I don't know when. I started building it MANY years ago and got frustrated with a few things. Mainly the body and parts fit. I tripped across it a while back and decided to finally finish it. I'm glad that I did. It came out ok . I didn't go all out with the detailing but enough to get her done to my current level of satisfaction (low!) I made the decals using a new Canon (cheapo) printer and some old decal paper. They came out really well. I used BMF on the aluminum floor. Looks ok Big pictures show that I forgot do install the valve cover breathers. I'll get to that immediately!? THE END!

I don’t think that I will ever come close to your ability but you have inspired me to keep trying!?

Thanks to everyone that replied! Very much appreciated ?

That was the first race that I ever attended at E-Town. I remember that wheelstand vividly!

Great job! One of my favorites, Here's a suggestion. Pose it like this , and the stance won't matter!?

I did not have a printer or decent computer until a few days ago. I made the decals for the ramp truck finding similar fonts to what Speedwin used for their logo. Only cost me about $1500! I’ll probably find other users for the computer and printer that might bring the cost per decal down.?

The decals were made for me by STS CustomizedByDesign@yahoo.com They did a good job!

Other things you notice, like '' Where's the upper radiator hose? It was still on the painting stick!

A friend and I decided that we would build some cars that we had seen at what was once our local track ( New York National Speedway - born 1965 - died 1980 ) I found a couple of photos of the Speedwin Automotive 1965 Plymouth that were taken sometime during 1965. Using parts from a Moebius Belvedere kit and their AWB kit I was able to put this modified A-990 car together. Paint is Duplicator basic white with decals created by STS. Although I've put quite a few of these Moebius '65s together without a hitch, this one fought me in certain fitment areas. The interior tub had an interference issue with the body by the rear quarter window so I had to trim the top of the interior panel. The rear glass would not fit the window frame. It was too small! That was solved with a piece of acetate (which looks better , anyway) Aside from those few issues, I think that it turned out ok. I noticed a couple of things in the photos. Funny how you don't see them until AFTER you post. Yep, the door to the shop was installed upside down. I ll get the contractor back to fix that ( he doesn't speak English too well). The other was my thumb in one picture . I just can't unsee it!?

I've had those kind of long term projects. Yours has evolved extremely well! Super detail work!

Cool ! The car most memorable for it's giant wheelstand at Englishtown.

They evolved very quickly in ‘65!

Good job on the decals! -
Wanting to build this version of the early Paper Tiger , I could only find warped resin bodies so I decided to make my own. Two Moebius bodies were used for this project. I grafted the awb hard top lower section on to the sedan. It was more difficult than expected. Next time , I'll cut and move the wheel openings. Paint is automotive that I had put in cans for me. The red and the blue are the correct Ford paint codes used by S&M up until 1970. The decals are from Slixx .
