Thanks. No, I recently finished a total restoration on the car and sold it (my retirement money). It turned out to be a pretty good long term investment

Black is my least favorite color to paint. Always gives me fits. Your Coronet looks terrific! WF

Well, if they don't, I'm gonna have to graft a roof onto that sucker!

You did a good job on this one. I wasn't a fan of the kit when first issued but would really love to build one now.

“ BUILDING THE COVERS “ Vol # 63 THE HURST HAIRY OLDS

One of my favorite kits as a kid. Probably the first one that I painted two colors. -

Not sure if I ever posted this car here. Lost the photos for a long time do to the hosting site shutting down. I recently found that I had the pics on an old phone and I recovered them.? I always loved this car. It was the only road runner Funny Car that I know of. It was certainly not very aerodynamic but it did hold the NHRA speed record for a time in 1969. I tried to use a resin body at first but it just didn't look quite right. The johan body was perfect. Tin and chassis are from the parts box. I was ecstatic to get the photos back but I just realized that I don't know where the actual model is. Gotta be packed away somewhere. Too many moves in a short period of time. WF

Thanks for all the comments. I thought that it might be fun to bring this one back from the dead . When I look at the prices of new kits, I cringe. It's probably because I grew up in a time when these kits could be had for a dollar!

This was my first car (1971) I bought it with the money I saved from my paper route ($750). Can you imagine a kid being able to do that today? The model is how it would have appeared when brand new. I had a vinyl top put on because it was often mistaken for a NY city taxi! ?

Those are great! I love the wood GP!

I wish that I could see your photos but whatever photo format that you are using is not being recognized by my mac.

That '74 was my all time favorite personal car. I think it might be a tie with my current '13 Challenger. It did everything well. As a bracket racer at NY National Speedway, I won so many times that they literally kicked me out! Lots of great memories with that RR. I sold that '74 in 1976 to make way for a '69 A12 road runner that I recently sold. Gonna show my model version of that one too.

Fantastic job! About realistic as it gets!

I bought this 1974 road runner GTX second hand in 1974. The original owner didn't realize how much gas the 440 used !☺️

Looks like a perfect copy! You even found the correct wheels!

Ooops, meant to say "Thank you!" This is the 2013. I'd like to build a copy of this one but I need to find a shaker hood for it. Don't know if there is a 1/25 scale hood for this car.

Than you! I traded the 2009 for a 2013 R/T that I still have. The '13 is a keeper. It's got 160,000 miles on it.

I've been able to replicate a few of my full size cars over the years. This was my 2009 Challenger R/T and the replica that I built.

Well done! Simple and clean.

Thanks! Good tip on checking clearance. What bugged me about this build was that I had the body on and off the chassis a number of times ( without the radiator support piece). All I would have had to do was trim a little off both sides. I started driving in 1971. There was NO WAY I would be able to afford insurance on a new muscle car back then. Pretty sure that I was on my Dad's insurance policy back then so my '68 road runner didn't cost all that much.

All around good job! Interior color contrasts well with the body color. -
I wish that I had more hands so that I could give you more than two thumbs up! Wait a second........ ??????????

Good tip on the alcohol. That would ensure that my finger prints are removed. Thanks!

IF I could somehow go back to September of 1967 and order a brand new car, this would be it! A simple yet powerful musclecar. I've built a few of these Revell Chargers over the years and they always seemed to go together well. This one tried my patience at times but was still a very nice kit. Upon final assembly, I found that the radiator support was too wide and caused problems with the lower valence, grille and hood fitment. It did not seem to be a problem until I Installed the chassis pan for the final time. I dealt with it the best that I could. Google photos were very helpful with interior detailing. IMG_E9186.m4v I took this photo just before I went to NAPA to pick up the - battery cable. IMG_E9187.m4v IMG_E9180.m4v IMG_E9181.m4v You can see that the hood and grille don't fit particularly well. That was most likely due to the radiator support being too wide. I don't know if anyone else is having problems with BMF lately but I found that it did not stick very well and that even with a brand new blade, it was hard to cut as easily as I remember. Maybe the X-Acto blades are not as sharp as the used to be?
