  1. I purchased an assortment pack at the electrical supply store , the ones I use have hollow round shaft instead of the tapered and split crimp type shaft in the photo I first posted, I use epoxy with them. they go from very tiny to quite large with different shapes look for "wire ferrules"
  2. thanks BD , it's probably the same or very close
  3. some years down the road.. you will look back and this will all seem trivial... trust me. the world is full of "it's not fair" situations no matter what your age as you said , you can still get paint elsewhere anyway. no harm in venting
  4. nice truck !,, is that a potato cannon ?
  5. I don't see how you guys are drilling those small holes ,,, I have tried and it ends up looking like a decayed wisdom tooth by the time I finish.
  6. I've done a couple dizzys with the crimp on wire terminal ends.. I got a pack of them cheap.. it looks pretty convincing compared to a screw. you have to cut them down to size, but you can crimp the wires in .no glue.
  7. I would like to try it , but isn't it $45 a qt ? that's a lot of models to paint the same color
  8. for the first time ? your a natural Thor !
  9. big daddy , 273 cfm for $90 whats the model # on that ? grainger is 5 minutes away from me
  10. in my area you have to be 18 to buy spray paint , Markers, shoe polish ... anything that can be used for graffitti or to make graffitti mops even,.... suck it up... life is not going to get any easier.. if your so upset over it .. you have a lot to be pissed off about down the road my friend. also , if you had to put up with the people that kmart clerks have to put up with every day ...all day.. you might be a little more sympathetic... it's not the greatest job.and not the best place to work either. don't let it get to you so much to change where you shop. He's probably just trying to make it thru another day working at kmart
  11. I agree with chillib also ,,, don't worry about letting the black enamel dry for a long period ,,, the chrome seems to work best over that dry but grabby enamel finish... an hour is just about right and the chrome will still dry and handle with no issues.
  12. thanks , I probably could have made it shorter tho ... I mean... how many times could I say" spray it light "...[facepalm] .. I'm terrible at narrating video.
  13. take it easy.... it's just my way,, hope it helps ...works for me .
  14. Doc , great job ! question, where did you get those plug wire boots ? or are they scratchy ?
  15. ..My idea is going to require a specific kit for the core model. but it will be epic if I can pull it off... lots of scratchy bits If that's ok I'm in !
  16. ... why are you randomly yelling ?....
  17. been buying from them for years ..it helps to check the sales and buy enough to offset shipping of course
  18. I notice a lot of builders open the box and paint/detail the body(and post a pic of it propped on some wheels...lol) before ever starting on the model. when I try this I always end up messing something up during the build .. so I have normally been building the model , than doing all the body paint and trim last after I'm sure everything will fit. am I missing something by not jumping right to painting the body first?.. I know some paints take a bit to dry but I'm not that fast of a builder. and it forces me to get the model done so I can relax and enjoy the final paint and assembly more. It seems like I see a ton of photos of a painted body right off the bat here.. I feel like I'm doing it different than a lot of builders and might be missing the need to do that. or is it something that changes with more experience and confidence in my skill level ? opinions please
  19. most snakes eat bad stuff , but a coral snake is probably the most poisonous snake in north america ,, they are not aggressive but not to be messed with ..
  20. I would be happy with the lunch "hour" part !
