  2. big difference between from a full blown modern lunch truck with grills and deep fryers(as cranky posted) .. and a roach coach selling pre-prepared gut busters and cold drinks purchased weeks before.operated by shady people or illegals
  3. If your mixing in the color cup , get some of the plastic pipettes. than you can kinda rough count drops of thinner. if your using a siphon feed ,it's hard to beat the little plastic bottles for mixing and you can store the extra in case you need it for touch up
  4. not a car builder but when I was 12 I met my Idol... Evel Knievel a few weeks before the snake river canyon jump. He was a larger than life Hero to me ..I'll never forget it. sadly no photos Living In Nashville I've met quite a few celebs and country stars, one of the best was meeting Billy Cox from the Jimi Hendrix Band of Gypsies. I talked with him for about 1/2 hr discussing the hendrix days.
  5. it's hard to replace hardened tool steel , not without going to exotic metals and that would be out of the question. soapstone, corian, ceramic would crumble to dust . no matter how well you cnc machine molds they have to finished by hand. than several days of testing-tweaking-testing-tweaking.polishing than you deal with the quality of the bulk plastic,, and tweaking operating temperatures... than you go thru QC and changes are requested and made ,, than more tweaking-testing,polishing,ect... than the customer wants more changes,,, more tweaking , followed by more polishing and retesting. eventually you get to production btw ... aluminum can be about 7X more expensive than steel when buying it in large chunks like that
  6. I'm really fond of this Pat Covert Book,It covers The important bases very well It can be found for a good price, just have to search around a bit
  7. I look at it as devoid of errors, and signs of glue ,with well fitting components , free of fingerprints and blemishes.strait and square assembly as in " I strive to build cleanly as possible"..by mastering the basics. I think it applies to all models shiny, rusty...,models that are low or high in detail, and diorama components
  8. harbor freight has paint masks with replaceable cartridges,,, and latex/vinyl/nitrile gloves. I prefer the blue nitrile gloves, urethanes ,epoxys, and certain thinners will penetrate the latex ones
  9. how do the front wheels steer ?
  10. lol... ok thanks Donn,, If I need to, I'll mention "That young whipper-snapper" but the Badger part# should do it
  11. I agree with scale-master if you do a google image search for " tamiya ts22 light green" you will see 5-6 variations on the first page
  12. wait a minute , I thought the numbers you see on the window sticker are determined by the EPA ? EPA changed the way it estimates fuel economy starting with the 2008 model year. This "new" way of estimating fuel economy supplements the previous method by incorporating the effects of Faster speeds and acceleration Air conditioner use Colder outside temperatures
  13. no problem Donn , I'll give him a call monday. do you happen to know what I should ask for? a part # or brand? or should I just ask for "the ones that Donn uses?"
  14. nice job! , the front wheels could be easily swapped with the 19" versions, I've found the larger 23's can be a bit big for the front on certain models. (I'm working on one right now with the same wheels)
  15. a quick question on the yost technique I am still having trouble finding the 2oz glass bottles for the passche H.
