  1. put as much into a compressor as you can ,the noise is going to determine what route to go tho. A hobby type compressor is quiet , but a larger compressor with a nice big tank is usually cheaper and will spray higher pressures without turning on as much.
  2. nice axe spk ! .. I cracked up ..usually people will say ," my hair is a lot shorter now".. or in my case "I used to have hair" ..
  3. the decal would be easy , once it's reduced you can print it on white inkjet decal paper. If you still need it , I can reduce it tomorrow when I'm on my other computer, and post it here. It would take a page to explain how I do it. In a nut shell I would print it and measure the diameter , than come up with a scale factor. go into the photo program and reduce the photo it by the scale factor. than cut out the disc in illustrator or photoshop.
  4. It's a Hamer standard flametop with seymour duncans, I did change the knobs out to look more 70's vintage, the originals are black
  5. lol thanks ..that's my #1 , I've had it since 1985-new
  6. yep , pretty much whatever size the cutting mat is.
  7. very nice , experimenting and finding what works for your setup is the best way.
  8. one of our local shops , sells on the internet ...He probably makes more from that , but at least he can keep his shop open as well. by selling online he has far more business than if he just sold from the shop to locals
  9. I agree and why is he spraying into an open fan? , there is no filter and it's just going back into the room, or maybe it's another room? overall it's not a good representation of spraying in the garage or outside.. I have some spraying coming up, I'll try to film me doing it ... maybe I've been doing it wrong. the model did look very glossy after all
  10. nothing wrong with building and testing a prototype from cardboard beforehand , I think it's a great idea now's the time to make changes and improvements.
  11. not very fluid motion there.....It's almost like he's stabbing the paint on due to the wind turbine. Is that typical ?
  12. I used to have one way back ,I don't recall threads on mine , It had a plastic hose that attached to plastic barb fittings on each end. (that broke easy )
  13. it's almost a case of watching someone do it once would really show what's a little hard to describe well
  14. wish I had known this trick sooner , I got a model from ebay that looked good in the photos but the builder actually poured glue over the parts rather than between the joints, took the phrase"glue bomb" to a whole new dimension ! I wonder if the freezer trick would have actually worked to pop the glue puddles loose
  15. If the Forum allows PDF than you can post it as an editable file. some of the forums I go to allow PDF...not sure here
  16. I'm very very close to doing just that.....they really are nice !
  17. lol .. it's brand new ,give it time, you should have seen what I moved from ! I couldn't find anything,I couldn't complete a model without losing something.
  18. I will try to mask areas with thin strips of tape that would require a lot of tedious scraping, and scrape the rest.
  19. Thanks Jim , Now If I can figure out an airbrush booth situation I'll be set !
  20. In Europe,I believe the thinner is labeled as "cellulose" , not 100% sure
  21. Top Main work drawer, stays open most of the time Bottle paints in the second drawer now off to get some coffee, hope everyone has a great weekend!
  22. model room central work area right side left Side, lots of space to spread out
  23. progress slows on the Henry J, but still going, not far to go. A Dodge 330 has crept onto the Work bench
  24. seems like any blushing would buff out . I know black is tuff to perfect tho
  25. I think plastruct calls it "coated wire" , it's butrylate rod but I'm not sure if it's brass or something else , I can't find mine right now
