  1. Thank you Chris. The front end is finished. Just have to do the windshield wiper. Doing the rear now. There is still so much to put on. Chris I know how you like detail , well the headlamps are a assembly. With headlamp bulbs! Hope you like.
  2. front lights finished. Starting to look like a P4. Hope you like
  3. This is soo cool!!!’ Sold my GT 350 a few years ago. With that money I’m still looking for a super clean AMX to buy. Not many at car shows, but my quest for the holy grail continues. Your build just gives me such a great feeling of what I am looking for. GREAT BUILD!!!!! COOL CAR!!!’
  4. Stunning!!!!!!!
  5. Love them all!!!! The best thing I like about hot rods is the freedom to build what you want or you can build a real car. Soooo cool!
  6. P.S. if you need red for you car I just recurved more from my distributor. So I have enough for a lifetime. Let me know and I will send you some.
  7. Thank you Chris, and oh boy about the cost! I can hide the 1/25 kits from the wife but at the MFH price it is impossible. You can hide $40 bucks but when it is $650 or higher man it’s tough! I have the Dan Gurney F1 MFH car and my buddy Mark just bought me the MFH 917/30 can am car. He is holding on to it for me till I come up with the money. He buys at discount prices but even at that it is still very expensive.
  8. I am a sucker for darts! Love the whole thing. Dodge fever !!GREAT build!!!!!!
  9. Thank you jasoncamaro and Belugawrx!
  10. Thank you Chris for the encouraging words. MFH makes a beautiful model. How they do it is really amazing. For me it is a hard model to do because of the detail. I’m on the straight away for the finish. Only about 150 more parts to put on. The glass was hard for me because it was vacuum formed. Cut to fit. Rear glass is cut and I am polishing this out. Head lamp covers are cut and fit also. Really comming together. Not as good as the guys on the MFH site but I am very happy with it. Here are a few more pics. Hope you like
  11. P.S.P.S. Thank all of you for the great comments.
  12. The First contest for the Toyota. Took first place for factory stock, best automotive subject, and Best of Show at the Reno High Rollers IPMS contest. I would like to thank my friend Mark for the Toyota and his support. If anyone has entered a IPMS event, autos are mostly overlooked ,as the armor, navel vessels and aircraft builds are so impressive. I just lucked out. Thank you Reno High Rollers for the great awards. P.S. thank you peteski for the correction on the backup light as the judges would have caught that.
  13. P.S. thank you peteski for the correction on the tailamp. That would have been seen by the judges.
  14. The Toyota took first place factory stock, best automotive subject and Best of Show at the Reno IPMS show. Thank you Mark for the great gift and support on the Toyota. It is very hard to receive Best of Show for a car at a IPMS event. The aircraft , armor and navel subjects were out standing. I guess luck was with me this time. Here she is and thank you Reno for the awards.
  15. Starting to fit the rear window. Fitting photo etched moulding. The moulding will be painted red. Have about 12 more pieces to paint red.
  16. Forgot the rivits in the window.
  17. Hello and did one side window. The thing I learned from this is not do it. Unfortunately I have one more to go. Did my best. The fit is ok. About 70 percent happy with it. The moulding around the window is a pretty good fit.
  18. Hello DrZero, no future but I was going to do it. Just polished till my fingertips were raw. Was scared of the future yellowing over time. I did put tamiya tape on the windshield to protect it as I was cutting and shaping it. Used 3m auto extra fine rubbing compound on the windshield and hoped for the best. The windshield is a vacuum formed and you cut to fit. A lot of handling so the tamiya tape. Thank you for the great comments.
  19. Thank you NYLIBUD. The model is very well engineered. The parts are individually wrapped. The chrome is the best I have ever seen. Parts are so good that you do not need glue on many of the parts. Windshield was the coolest install , it snaps in place, no glue. They try to take out the mistakes with great engineering. The instructions are the best ever. Like a shake and bake. Until you get to the suspension and have to tap the holes for the screws. Only modification I made wa to enlarge the door hindge holes to float the door for alignment. Car comes with a very nice paint in solar white but I could not leave it alone. I painted it twilight turquoise. Added a little blue pearl for a richer look. The model is very expensive. I know the deagostini rep and received the model for free. When it was done I promised a interview and pictures of the build for advertisement. I might be getting the 1/8 scale of the Porsche Carrera. It is painted white but I will change the color. They said at a discount but at have price it is still $1200. The Toyota is 1/10 scale and runs approx $1100. They are expensive but I lucked out with Mark and he was very generous. A great guy. Best model I have ever built. It is very exciting because it’s a rare subject. Have it under lights every night and stare at it before I go to bed.
  20. Hello guys. Pretty much everyone is right , with their experience of certain air brushes etc. I do not use a air brush for painting car bodies. I use a sata mini jet, with a .8 tip and needle. I use the air brush for interior and other stuff and use tamiya acrylics. I also use automotive paints. It works the best for me. It really comes down to experience, and what you are used to. Don Yost has the best for model cat painting. His results are great and will not break the bank. I’m in the auto industry so I get my products from the paint distributor. The amount I need it’s free and he loves models even though he does not build. ( we spend $15 thou a month on materials, so he can spare a little)If you want to know about car paints , I can tell you all about it. But the other guys will be better at model paints. Here are some examples of automotive paints;
  21. Thank you Chris. Keeping calm because the parts count is finally becoming sane. I can actually see the straight away. Here is the side window cut out. Still needs slider and the mounts with rivets. Lost the gas cap. Had to make a new one from aluminum.
  22. Thank you Codi, just poking along. Doing a little at a time. Installed the brake cooling ducts. I never thought a build could take so long. This build keeps you on your toes! Please build the hippy car. Your builds are great! I would like to do the 917/30 can am car. But financially I cannot at this time. Plus This is the longest build I have ever done. I guess if anything you learn patience. A lot of patience. Thanks again and build the car. I would love to see your talents go into that car. It would be a work of art.
  23. I have to correct myself. The race cars did use glass , the ford GT used glass for the windshield. In 1967 the Mark 4 would break the windshields. Ford did not bring any more windshields and ford had several flown into France for the 24 hours of lemans.
