Hello Chris! Yes working on the big stuff. Mark and I are taking a trip to Shelby American in March to meet up with Liam White of Agora models. Here is a pic of the hood scoop. Color sanding and polishing the whole car tomorrow. Had to see what the finish might look like and could not wait. So I polished the scoop and am pleased.

WOW!!! That is soooo cool!!!! Thank you for the great story. I have to put the Ferrari away for a little bit. Agora has a 427 cobra for me to start. I’m changing the paint and some other things. But I will be back on this build after the cobra.,

Cool Bill!!! DeAgostini is a little disorganized sometimes.

P.S. This cobra is pretty cool and really very simple to put together. Bill has it down for the big scale kits. I use his build forum for mine. So far no issues on the kit, but it helps when you read Bills cobra build. I was amazed on the frame of the cobra. As your building it seams like a lot of assembly but it works out beautifully. One thing I do when I assemble the kit, is I use a machine oil for the screws. Really makes it a lot easier to assemble.

Hello Ray, A lot. I have modeled for 10 years now and still have putty. I get some supplies really cheap. Some for free. Been in the business for over 30 years so the suppliers will give me a break or be free if it sits too long. I worked for BMW and they turn over paints every 2 years. I have a lot of toners for free as they throw them out. I do have to pay for the urethane clears. Been using a acme brand and it’s been working out. It’s very thin and inexpensive. Going to use a red toner from bmw and a acme clear on the body of the cobra. I’ve noticed that the cheaper clears will take longer to dry. This is a problem for dust to settle in. So I have a heat gun I use to dry the clear. Or at least glaze it over so dust will not settle in the clear. I have to strip the body today and make a jig to hold the heavy body for painting. I will sand the primer with 600 wet and dry then spray a sealer over the primer. Paint base coat then clear.

The total for the materials, primer, sealer, paint , clear and putty ( filler) is going to be about $250 ( not cheap by any means)

Hello Bill, Mark thinks it might be the Daytona but no one knows for sure. He is being very hush-hush on it. Boy a 1/8 would be sooooo cool.

Making a 1/8 agora 427 cobra. Have to put down the 935/78 and the Ferrari 166 for now. Liam and Mark sent me the cobra. Going to change it up a bit. Instead of blue , going to repaint the cobra red. The paint job on the cobra is very beautiful. So repainting it, hurts a little. White side pipes with a black rollbar. Repainted the wheels also. Mr Obsessive (Bill) has finished a beautiful cobra and has a fantastic and detailed build. So I will not bore you guys with that stuff. He is par- excellent on big scale builds. I will post the progress of the build and not bore you guys with the small stuff. I will be meeting Liam White from Agora at Shelby American in March. I think he may be comming out with something new from Shelby American. In 1/8. We will see. The red cobra is kind of what I’m shooting for.

Hello Bill, cool your up to date. Mine was a little behind. Hope to see packs 20 and 21 soon. Doing the 427 cobra now. Changing it up a little. Just painted the wheels. Here is a pic of what I am kind of shooting for.

Hello Bill, I have received packs 12-19. Have you received anything lately? If not contact Mark and he can get the ball rolling again for you.

Hello all , it’s been awhile for a update. Just received a few packs from model space on the ford GT. I’ll going to have to locate all of my ford GT stuff. I’ll have to change the seat belts to the black ones. The kit has seatbelts that are not even made in 1968 or 69. I told Mark that a few months ago that the seat belts were a later seat belt, maybe after a restoration but not period correct. So he dropped off these for the build. Have to redo the belts. Well here we go.
