  1. Patient with my own stuff, not other's.
  2. OK Joe, its afternoon. How's your progress progressing? Inquiring minds want to know.
  3. Oh man, thanks Chris. I'm envious you got to go. Bet it was awesome. I have something for you too.
  4. Tim - thanks for follow this build. I appreciate your input. Gene - glad you're aboard. Michael - us altered guys gotta stick together. Thanks. Chris - so where were you for the weekend? Possibly Bakerfield? Danno - thanks for your continued interest. This has been my most detailed front axle assembly and I'm really happy with it. Dave - I really appreciate you following along on this build. We have to meet up one of these days.
  5. Well, maybe that's Joe excuse. LOL
  6. Loving this James. You're killing it.
  7. I'm not worried Niko. You'll get these all to work to your satisfaction. Glad you're back. I miss your posts.
  8. Hey joe. Here's my diagram for how I build my aluminum straight axles. The steering arms engineering has changed since I drew this but you'll get the idea on the axle. Hope I'm not too late brother. Let me know if you have any questions.
  9. That progressing but did you ever see my diagram for how I make my straight axles? If not, its in my Fiat and Walt's Puffer threads. If you need explanations of anything, just let me know. Be thrilled to see you make one of these. Its really not that tough, just has many working parts and time consuming. Let me know if you want me to post it here. Also, I don't use flat aluminum to make my knuckles, I use rectangular tubing cut to shape. Much stronger and a bit thicker.
  10. Complete mind boggle Tim. That must be a big pencil.
  11. Ah come on Joe (you can always change your name). I've always wanted to say that. Make sure your Z-A-G is fresh. Old stuff just doesn't hold nearly as well. And you're right, pictures will help better explain what you're trying to use words for. Mailman won't probably be delivering your stuff until tomorrow at the earliest.
  12. Thanks for your kind words Niko. Glad you're along for the ride. Getting closer every bench session. What can i say brother John? Appreciate you following along and your interest. I put those dang hairpins off and after such contemplation, they went together without a hitch. With the last two radius rod pictures from the side, I thought another pic from the bottom would show them a little better. The frame still needs some touch up after all of the handling and I'll do that after the tins are in place. Still working out the details on those. Thanks fellas.
  13. Man, what a busy day with house things to do so i was delayed on getting the hairpin radius rods mounted and completed. Here's a couple of pictures. Glad these are done. Now onto the tins. Thanks for following along. Comments welcome.
  14. Thanks for your comments fellas. John - I'd be happy to share with you how I do this although it seems each time I build one, its slightly different and improved on. I had a setback on re-attaching both of the steering arms. If you recall from a much earlier post, when I originally mounted the tie rod with the steering arms, I found they were in the way of the hairpin radius rods. I had to rethink this for a better solution. I've got it all worked out but had to take the steering arms off and develop a new way of mounting them and change their angle to clear the tie rod. It's all worked out and I've the last hairpin to finish up. Pictures soon.
  15. Well, Joe. Did that fourth design work out for you? Dying to see what you come up with. That package went out yesterday.
  16. Thanks brother Joe. I know you were wondering about Zap-A-Gap and if it'll hold up. This axle is all held together with Z-A-G and Scale Hardware nuts and bolts, so yes, it'll hold up.
  17. That is incredible Johnny. Looks like it just the right size for your minions too. I'd lock that up or they'll be out joy riding. LOL
  18. Ungodly creativeness going on here.
  19. Zap-A-Gap IS everything its cracked up to be.
  20. Supplies came in yesterday that I needed to continue so a bit more done on the hairpins. In these pics, the axle is upside down as the glue dries. This whole assembly is getting so fiddly and I still have the rear connections to do. More work planned tomorrow.
  21. Well get your parts fixed 'cause I'm dying to see your new bench mill.
  22. Looking good Niko. Glad to see you're at the bench again and that you haven't lost your touch.
  23. That pedal assembly is a piece of art all in itself. Beautifully mastered.
  24. You funny Art. LOL
  25. Great progress Art. You'll have this masterpiece done in no time. Then you can get back to your brass chassis sprint car.
