  1. Nice show! It's good to see the VW alive and well in the UK. I was surprised by the amount of dune buggies. Also to see the passion you have and the amount of custom work on some of the cars. Thanks for sharing your photos.
  2. Bob, I like to use Dupli-Color primer sealer or sandable primer if I am useing automotive lacquers or acrylics. Never had a problem with these.
  3. The new stuff is what is driving me crazy along with the prices. Sometimes the answer is in your own closet. Open an old one up that's still in the wrap. Sometimes I forget what came in some of these kits with all the kit bashing I do. The answer might just be in the box. When I have limited sources I try to save what I do have for paint, glue and other supplys so I can finish what I have.
  4. Is this going to look like a 49 plymouth when you are done? Thanks Mike for pointing that out. I was wondering the same thing. I am enjoying all the comments on this thread I will say. Very interesting.
  5. It looks killer for the street for sure. I love these Novas. In the beginning you mentioned you were getting rid of the SBC as in small block Chevy, did your kit come with it or is it really a big block? I am unaware of it coming with a SBC and would really like to have one.
  6. I've been in and out of the hobby for over 50 years but, always managed to hang on to a few models (not always my best ones). I always gave it up when it seemed to me no one cared about my models, so why waste my time? Once I found a support group at the local hobby store I was back to point of no return. We get together monthly with our common interest. A month is too long so this forum seems to fill my need. If I get tired of building or just want to take a break I get on here and see what others are doing. Don't give up, it will pass, hang in there. This is my life blood.
  7. That's a Lot of junk Ben. Now everyone knows your name. We are all friends here, welcome to the forum. That's a nice collection you have going there. How many do you think you have? Great job on the weathering and thanks for sharing.
  8. Nice! I like the bed side rails, did they come with the kit?
  9. I love the wheels, hope you don't change them out. Can't wait to see what you do next. I think the 427 is a good choice too.
  10. This is just plain cool, love it!
  11. I love the "Old School" look of it. Nice paint.
  12. Nice truck! I like all the work you did on the frame. The color combo is great also.
  13. I like it. Nice use of colors to make it pop.
  14. Beautiful! Nice detail, I love these type of builds. Thanks for sharing.
  15. All you need is a disco ball in the back. lol..Looks good so far. Are you going to finish the interior?
  16. I forgot about this one untill it just poped up again. Wow, crazy nice! What a thread man, you just wrote a book. You have the talent a lot of us wish we had. Good stuff!
  17. I like the way it's going. After building three of these, which always come out the same for me, I wish I had the guts to do what you are doing. This is a wonderful kit in stock form but, I love what you are doing to it. I always thought it looked like it would be an easy chop. Keep it going and I might copy this one.
  18. It's looking great! I love your attention to detail. Every time you make a change it becomes so much more real. I love the cable brakes. Your colors are really coming together for you also. Keep it going, you are going to have one cool hot rod.
  19. You've still got my attention. I like the colors and engine choice.
  20. Way to go! I like the shine of Testors enamels also. As soon as I run out of Model Masters enamel thinner I am going to switch to lacquer thinner. I keep reading about it on this forum. Hope it works for me as good as it has for you.
  21. It looks good in gold, a color not often seen. I'm also a fan of early Vettes. Just wondering, what kind of paint did you use on it?
