  1. Looks like it's coming along. I did one a couple of years ago, and this is what the American-LaFrance experts told me: Frame - black or red (I used semi-gloss black, but that's me) Engine - it's a Detroit Diesel 8V71 so it coule be either Detroit Diesel Alpine Green or red Transmission - red oxide or (you guessed it) red Pump - frame color (or red!) Wheels - chrome or body color (more common) Interior - body color Seats - flat red Dash, steering wheel - semi-gloss black Interior floor, engine doghouse - silver (to simulate the diamond tread plating) Tailboard & running boards - dulcoat to tone down the chrome Ladders - either flat aluminum or wood brown with white tops Do yourself a favor, and replace the hard suction hoses with 1/4" tubing. It will save you a lot of headaches. Also, you can replace the booster lines with #18 red electrical wire. It's more to scale. These pics might help. Interior: Frame: Over all: Hope this helps!
  2. I thought the Revell of Germany Kenworth was 1/25? That's what the box says.
  3. LoneStar is a 2011, and the ProStar is either a 2012 or 2013. Yes, all of the AMT kits are from the 1970s and the Revell/Italeri kits are from the 1980s & 1990s. But if you want soe really old stof (1940s, 50s, or 60s); you have to go resin or scratch-build. Frontier Resin Designs has some cabs from the 1950s: http://www.ebay.com/sch/frontier_resin_design/m.html (never used them, so I cannot attest to their quality).
  4. Nice looking Big Horn. That's one tough Dodge. Funny though, he says it's a 1980, but I thought Dodge was out of heavy trucks by 1977. http://www.ebay.com/itm/1980-dodge-big-horn-CAB-1-25-/330924064884?pt=Model_Kit_US&hash=item4d0c9c8074
  5. That kit from SourKraut is the cab from Tim Sherman (All Seasons Collectable Toys) that Porky bought out. I'm telling you, contact Porky.
  6. P&P Resins offers a White 3000. It's not listed on his site yet, but he has it. How do I know this? Because I bought one from him.
  7. Check with Illini Replica Conversions (illinireplicaconv@ameritech.net). They have the KW Bullnose & the Peterbilt Bubblenose, and various other older truck cabs. http://apps.aitruckmodels.com/Gallery/
  8. Nice clead build. I like it. Want to add some quick & simple details? Add some strips of BMF around the windshield frame, to the door handles, & sleeper vents.
  9. This is the one I purchased: http://www.pioneerplastics.com/display-cases/diecast-cases/576c/ Pioneer Plastics does make a smaller one for 1/18 scale as well: http://www.pioneerplastics.com/display-cases/diecast-cases/355c/ but this one might be a little short.
  10. They interior domensions of the case are 15-1/2" long x 7" wide x 6" tall. Hobby Lobby has them for $19.99. The one I used was the one for the 1/18 scale cars, same interior dimensions but $14.99 and it doesn't have a "fancy" wood base.
  11. Interesting. I know P.I.E. & Matlack (and many other Western US carriers) used set-ups like this.
  12. Great job all around. That 1941 is fantastic. Where did you get the 1/32 firefighter?
  13. Pretty cool. I've actually thought of doing something similar; but I've cut the top picture off of the box & recycled the rest.
  14. Very nice. I like both trucks.
  15. I recently purchased on of these cases for my LoneStar, and it is about 1/4" too short inside. The stacks hit the inside of the case. These cases should be ok for my other trucks, though. My LoneStar is just a little too tall.
  16. Nice looking International.
  17. Looks really nice. I like the modifications you did to the cab. Great looking fleet truck.
  18. You have a Big Horn? Where did you get the Big Horn? RMR?
