  1. Thanks for the info, guys. I'll have to check into the Revell Wrecker. Not sure where to find one. Again, this is a project for the distant future. As far as an aftermarket 12V71, I know that Bobby Griffen offers one. It's not on his Website, but I confirmed on another board that they are still available.
  2. Casey, Don't hold you breath! I suppose you coud say that it's a hypothetical truck right now. Currently I stuck on my Snap Pete because it's too darn cold to paint anything. Hasn't been above 20 for three weeks. Oh well! I guess I'll start a new project & paint when I can.
  3. Tim, Any time!
  4. I stumbled onto this video in You Tube the other day. Apparently it is a Kenworth W900-somthing-or-other with a Detroit Diesel 12V71 under the hood. Now on the top of Page 39 in the soft cover version of "Building Model Trucks" is a Peterbilt with a simillar paint scheme. I always thought it was a cool looking 359, but I wanted to do it as a Kenworth W925. Long prolog, but here is my question: the AMT KW W925 comes with a Cummins straight 6 engine, would I need a bigger radiator for the DD 12V71? Also, when did the DD come onto the market? Would I have to "update" the model to a W900B or W900L? Enjoy the video! Don't forget about the Dodge Bighorn!
  5. Kurt, STS caries a Hendrix Caterpillar 3406 for $12.50. I've never used it, but it looks ok. Looks cab deceiving though. You'll need to scratch pullies & belts.
  6. New York weather? Where in New York? I live near Syracuse. Jim
  7. Greg, I'll take whatever you've got: engine, sleeper (mine's the small 36", but I don't know what the walls are supposed to look like), cab. The engine on the model is a Cat 3406A. What's under the hood on your truck? I really appreciate it. You can PM me if you want to. Jim
  8. Well, that's two negatives on the BMF Ultra Bright. Guess I'll shick with the "chrome". What about the flat aluminum?
  9. Greg, Your photos of your dad's truck could not have come at a more opportune time for me. I'm working on the Revell Snap Peterbilt 395 which is a 1986-ish truck, and I'm planning on doing the Oxblood red interior. Your photos are great! Thank you, thank you thank you!
  10. Beautiful as always. Fantastic work, and the lines look straight to me! When you usa the Bare Metal Foil "chrome", do you use the "chrome" or the "bright chrome"? Have you ever used the flat aluminum?
  11. A 346. That's a big truck, kind of funny looking, though. I wonder if the front axle that far back gave it a better turning radius.
  12. Tim, Your avatar, what exactly is that you're hanging on? I'm guessing it's you.
  13. You can check with Daniel Gailloux from Plaskit. He doesn't have a Website, but his email is plaskit_resin@yahoo.ca and he has some Alcoa chrome plated resin wheels. Shoot him an email & he'll email you a catalog (at least he sent me one). You can also try Kit Form Services http://www.kitformservices.com/ , but since the prices are in British Pounds, be prepared to pay A LOT of US dollars. Good luck!
  14. Well, that's different! Where did you get the picture? Jim
  15. Jairus, That is my real name, but if you must know, my full name is James Bongiovanni. I'm 38 years old, and I live in Chittenango, NY (which is near Syracuse). Jim
  16. Welcome to the forum! I'm relatively new here as well, but here is the link to Spaulding Trading & Shipping that you wanted: http://www.stsmodeltrucks.com/ You also might want to check out Truckmodeler.com at http://tahlborn.web.aplus.net/TMC/tmc_title.htm He has a lot of links on his site for truck companies, modeling links, and other cool things. Also, if you have ANY Peterbilt questions, Tim's the man to ask. (Sorry, Tim, had to throw that one in there!) Jim
  17. I just looked up "Snapper" in a US dictionary, and found no offensive meanings. I don't know what they're talking about, unless they find fish offensive. Jim
