  1. That's ok uncle! Sometimes I like to play with people, don't take it too seriously.I have seen writing on forums that make me pull my hair out I tell you! It's just nice that people like you and me can communicate like this and tell what we think. As a matter of fact it would be nice if we could have separate sub-kits available from the same manufacturers as the kits they come from. You know, as limited editions that we could order only directly from them? Option packages to modify such and such a kit, a little like what Italeri has done with their 2 truck accessories kits. Well, we could always turn to the resin part suppliers. Maybe they could copy this and make these suspension bits available as single axle, tandem or 3 axle kits! I'm making this sound even better... Something to think about... Of course we all have to think about copyrights. Eric from P&P, What do you think about this?
  2. I didn't like the Diamond R until this! This is one NICE piece!
  3. I don't think you'll get into trouble replicating any Caterpillar or copyright protected product as long as you keep it for personal use only. You can even show it around if you want. You get into trouble as soon as you replicate their designs for business, be it a real truck, dozer or a model of these. People who replicate copyrighted designs have to be really careful when marketing these. Caterpillar seem to be a lot more self conscious about their name than their design though as AMT re-issued their Dozer without the Cat name anywhere on it. Same thing with Mack, the Italeri Superliner aka "American" Superliner has no nameplates at all. We could talk about Freightliner too. So that's why there are kits and trans-kits with no identification. We can figure out how to "correct" our own models though, can't we. Engineering and design of any product is called IP, intellectual property. These companies put a lot of money and energy in developing these products, so they want royalties if other companies use their designs. That is one reason why everybody is suing these days. By the way don't copy DVDs either... That's bad. ;o)
  4. Nice detailing! We can see the work that has gone into this, you see the "defects" more than we do! Nice!
  5. MAN! That is what I want! It looks great, love the woodwork! That is the exact same kit I have, thanks for posting the pictures Ray, it's really encouraging top see the result! Thanks Ben! I'll have to look up KFS, I'm pretty sure I'll have to order other stuff from them at the same time...
  6. That would be a good idea! I'd use these everywhere! And by the way, it's Moebius. if you want them to read, write it properly! It's like writing Peterbuilt... You know, doesn't look right.
  7. Thanks for the nice comments. I haven't worked on it for a while. I was trying to figure out how to make strap winders for this thing. I have two tool boxes from AITM I want to install on this as well. I also have round tail lights from KFS that will replace the square Australian issue units. I'll post as soon as I find what I'm going to do with the winders and straps. Still out for the color, but it might end up having an aluminum silver platform with a red underside. Thanks for the "yellow and well worn" Daniel, it would be kinda cool too. Finally, I have ordered some "wooden surface" decals designed for the AMT 40' Fruehauf van from Modeltruckin' for some of the top surface. I'll keep you posted.
  8. Impressive! And those eagles were PAINTED. Have you actually seen one of these trucks in Austria?? You did an excellent job on this Transtar!
  9. Wow! That's nice, you even caught a pic of an Australian spec truck! Thanks for sharing!
  10. Looking great up to now, I like the decals. good job!
  11. UPS (brown trucks...) are always good for a 40$ customs charge. But USPS (postal service) ships directly to Canada post. The only times I got to pay duty was when I ordered from outside the US, and even then, it happens that I'm not charged. But it did happen once when I bought an Italeri kit (Italian) product from a US store that I got duty charge. So, in theory, the Moebius kits are "American" products, so you shouldn't be paying more than you got charged at the store. Good luck!
  12. Half of that V12 is going to stick out the back! Could be interesting! by the way, how did you manage to cut that cab so straight?
  13. Let's just have something that is running or used to run here in North America. Even those old Trailways Eagles would do!
  14. Whatever it's going to be, I'm pretty sure it's going to be good! Still can't get over that FLD of yours Chuck, gotta start mine soon!
  15. Wow, that's a real custom! Very nice work.
  16. Oh that looks good! Very nice match with the Revell wrecker body. Nice fading paint too. Too bad you had to "part" with it. Hey, do another one with the same wrecker body and an LTL9000! Or maybe I'll do it!
  17. Really nice! Looks like an SAR. Which Western Star Italeri kit did you use to make your conversion?
  18. Nice, as usual, Also nice to see a built T600.
  19. A bit late to the party, but very nice in white and red.
  20. I know, I'm quoting myself but I just bought it on the A&N site with the North American conversion... The American conventional is going to be a late model, offered in almost any configuration. Some people are going to be mighty happy!
  21. KFS was supposed to carry the A&N conversions but I don't see them on their site anymore. Has anybody bought the "australian cabover" yet? I know A&N is still alive and they updated their site to be more customer friendly though.
  22. Love the stripe job on this, tasteful blend of colors. Nice cab stretch too. Like it a lot.
  23. "Pissed-Off Pete" has been renamed "Scared-Off Pete" after seeing this monster...
  24. Nice custom of a custom! I like the frame stretch and the cab stretch!
