  1. Brings back some memory's, my dad would take me there every weekend, I cant remember the guys name, but he had curly hair and wore glasses , but he always treated us very nice. Gorden's Hobby Lobby was the second name after it moved, and the reason why it was changed, was because of the chain Hobby Lobby coming to the valley, so they bought the rights to the name so they could open their stores here, well thats what I was told after the name change Edit- I visited Hobby Lobby today, and will go back tomorrow
  2. Ebay is another place to find alot of stuff as well
  3. I pre ordered mine at HLJ as well
  4. Tamiya is scheduled to release the LA Ferrari in Nov, price , well depending on where you order from, currently the pre order price at Hobby Search is 4080Yen, or about $42 US, and the at Hobby Link Japan , the current pre order price with the 20% off is 3840Yen or about $39 US http://www.hlj.com/product/tam24333 http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/10238910 Here are some photos from the Toyko Hobby Show
  5. It depends, but sometimes I go months between visits , and the only reason I shop at HL is becasue of the 40% off coupons.
  6. I echo what James said, I am spending more money at HLJ then I care to know what the dollar amount has added up to at this point Have fun spending your money at HLJ
  7. After three our four coats of Mr Hobby Clear, after the first two coats, I wetsanded with 4000 and 12000 and did the final wet coats
  8. I am planning on doing another TV live van , I might join this when that time comes to start it, I have no idea when I am going to start it
  9. I did order two kits from them once, and they never arrived, I did get my money back , that is the one time that I have ever not received an order from Japan, I am not saying who's fault it was, I didnt get a tracking number as it was shipped SAL, so there is chance that it did get lost.
  10. You are welcome Carl, I have been following this since the rumors started a year ago
  11. No it does not ,FOX still has to fulfill its contract obligations with BJ, the next BJA is next month and it will be shown on FS2 and the last day I believe is going to be aired on the National Geo Channel http://www.barrett-jackson.com/television-coverage/ Here is the TV listing for BJ Vegas Thursday September 26 2pm/8pm Fox Sports 2 Friday September 27 2pm/4pm Fox Sports 2 Friday September 27 4pm/8pm Fox Sports 1 Saturday September 28 12pm/8pm National Geographical Channel
  12. Good luck, I did not enjoy looking for a new one awhile back, and if you want a camera that does not use a battery pack, good luck, there are not a lot of camera's now that don't use battery packs, I did not want a camera that runs off a battery pack, so that meant either getting a cheap P&S, or going to the $150+ range to get a decent camera that runs off AA battery's . But of course it would fail now, this is the time that you need it
  13. I know what it is, I know what it is , curious in seeing how it builds up, I would ask some more question's but that would just give it away I think. You are doing a build thread for it? or just showing it off? sorry to hear about your camera going 10-7, that does suck, was it an expensive camera?, just asking some filler questions to pass the time

  15. If it is ture about the LB version, I will be getting that one as well, I know 81 did the resin transkit, and Thomas did a great job, I just can bring myself to pay the asking price, that is what's stopping me from buying the his R35 Ben Sopra kit, and I really want that one , maybe I will buy it for myself for Christmas Tim, you wont find to many Japanese kits with "full" engine detail, I guess you could say what 95% of the engines are top only detail, which, for me, is better then nothing. I can see the point for some , as with all newer cars, about the only thing you can see is the oil pan, and then when you factor in supercars , that have one piece bodys, it sort of makes sense for them not doing "full" engines, but again, it does suck, I agree.
  16. Checked my cloest HL, and they two had two cans of Tamiya Primer, as well as all the kits they pulled that are on clearence, now, lets hope no one finds the two that I hid before I can get back to buy them
  17. Here we go, a few shots of the engine in place and the bottom plate, as you can see, I had to open it up to let the engine sit further down And I started working on the interior, replacing the kit seats with these
  18. The engine for my 86 kit arrived today
  19. Very nice

  22. Those are nice wheels, but $90US is a lot of money for a set of wheels
  23. I agree, what Harry did makes the front look a lot better I wonder what the chance's of the concept car making it to production or will this one end up like so many at the concept grave yard
