Revell 1957 Chevrolet 150 Utility Sedan - Finished!
martinfan5 replied to RandyB.'s topic in WIP: Model Cars
Nice job so far, nice color choice -
Been waiting to start working on the Aoshima version of the Toyota FT86, the Aoshima kit gives you five different building options, you can build it as the Scion FRS (US) the Toyota 86(Japan) GT86(EU), plus you get ride height and camber options as well I am still unsure what version I am doing this one, but the color will be Toyota Hot Lave Met, (think orange), I have the paint on the way from Scale Finishes, so far not a lot as been done, just got the body and chassis in primer

Upsides and downsides to Lindberg kits?

The Charger police kits are decent kits, but for the most part, I believe they are reboxed Testors tooling, minus the tooling for the police equipment -
Galaxie trailer question
martinfan5 replied to MustangGuy23's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
There is a difference with the older kits, and the new ones, they change the trailer lengths, the first issued trailers , were 24 tag along, 32 goose-neck, I believe it was a 36 tag and then the 44 gooseneck They are no longer doing the 44 goose-neck , and the 24 tag-along is now 21, they stop doing the 32 goose-neck as well, so you can only get a 36 tag and 38 gooseneck The first run did not come with decals, the new issues do, plus, the new issues give you the options of what side you want the door to be on, and you have a choice of rear doors as well So when you see the trailers on ebay that are 24/32/36/44, those are from the first run from the 90s Some people may know they can buy direct from Galaxie -
Cool idea

Round 2 wants to know what you want!
martinfan5 replied to Blown03SVT's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Dont forget all the American stuff from the 70's-90's as well , I do hope by that time , that they will have kitted an Crown Vic (99-2011) by then And get off my lawn I think I dont express what I am wanting to say properly, yes, my interest in modeling is newer stuff, meaning cars that I grew up with (80s and up), just like the core age group wants to build stuff that they grew up with, nothing wrong with that, and there is stuff from the core age group that I would like to build, but my main interest is a little newer, again ,nothing wrong with that. -

I would of never known that if you didnt tell me I was not comparing the two ( US, Japan companys) all I was saying is I am glad that they tool the kits that they do, meaning newer stuff, vs here which is mostly older stuff. -

While it not be 100% correct, the light that comes in the Revell Caprice police/fire kit is a StreetHawk, its missing the takedowns/alley/rear flashers, or you can get from here as well http://www.policecarmodels.com/1stliformopo.html It all depends if you want the all dome version, or the speaker version, I which one Dave makes, I think he makes both.
