Tower Hobbies is awesome!
martinfan5 replied to Ben's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
That is some great customer service , I do like spending money at Tower Hobbies, although the only time I buy from them is when they are offering free shipping coupon's , I get my orders within a few days after they have been shipped, but I am sure it helps that one of there warehouses are one state away from me -

3D Printing....Instant Model update
martinfan5 replied to Ace-Garageguy's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I think we are all having a case of putting the gas engine before the gas (cart before the horse), no one knows the future of 3D printing and its impact on the hobby will be, we are going to find out at the same time when it happens. All this going back and fourth about everything is pointless, though some very good points have been made so far. 3D printing is here and advancing , its going to impact the hobby, but those are the only facts we know a the moment I am looking forward to see how 3D printing is going to impact the hobby, so lets all hurry and wait to see what happens -
Before any one can help, we need to know what kind of wrecker and car hauler you want to build

I will take two TATA please -
Have to agree with that As being one of the for Desert Scale this year, what we looked for, was a well built model, were mold lines removed, where trade marks on the chassis still there, glue spots, it was the overall finish and and did the builder take time the time build a clean model, it did not matter how much money was spent on after-market stuff, that did not matter to use. And I can tell you this, some very nice models that got passed up for the little things like glue spots or trade marks left on the chassis, and I mean a build that would of been considered for placing. You can throw all the money you want to at a build, but if its not a clean build and you dont remove sink marks, pin holes, trademarks and mold lines, 9 out 10 times, it wont win, and will lose out to a OOB that the builder took the time to remove above.

Before we moved, when we lived on 195th ave, the house was on the east side of 195th and that was county, on the west side of 195th was Buckeye FWIW, I did a test fit of the 2011/12 diecast Charger body to the Lindberg Charger chassis and its a perfect fit.

These are not easy to get, and not cheap either, I paid over $30 for mine with shipping, but have seen them go for a lot more then that

Go for it, just put the paint and glue in the box and it will build its self for you , its a blast to build, the only fit issues I have is the marker lights, everything is perfect I too have heard those same comments, and I have not yet had any problems with hobby design wheels yet, only have bought four sets so far, the one I used are AVS model F15 for the GTR R35 size 20

The one from a few years ago is the Brock Buster kit , its the same kit, different box art, and molded in yellow

I want to say I El Mirage has some, but I am not 100% sure , I have seen and do see Surprise PD 2011/12 Chargers all the time now. Dan, I have , but dont think I recall the antenna's on them, last I knew, PPD was using the the very short antenna on the trunk(pr two if stupidviser unit ) when they switch over to the Digital radio system back in the mid 2000's . I know for awhile they had the four low-jack spikes on the roof I am going to add the antenna's, and would love to replace the diecast wheels with the Police wheels from the Lindberg Charger, but dont have any , I am trying to decided on either going low porfile (UC style tube) or regular style antenna, the later will require me to get a new small bit, I broke the one I had drilling the holes for the spot lights End of novel here Edit start of of new novel, MCSO now has a new 2012 Chevy Caprice, its out here in District 3, saw one last week we were heading SB on Dysart
