  1. You are correct and both counts, and I agree, the cars/chassis are all the same, there is no room to try things out, be different. Its gotten to uniform, NASCAR is more and more like the old IROC series was, you really can call NASCAR a spec series, sure teams can do things, but nothing that alters the chassis or the body.
  2. Bernie, great job on this one, yep its true SHR and Office Depot are parting ways . Did you use one of the reisn nose peice's? or did you do the work yourself, whos decals?
  3. I will google Foose and see for myself Good point Casey, and to add to that, no matter what the subjects, ones we like or dont like, the bottom line is we should all hope that the new ( new reissued ) kits are a success sales wise, because in the long run, we the modelers will benefit the most, with the models company's taking more risk per say down the road on giving us newly tooled kits.
  4. Someone please tell me, what so special about this ?, all I see are some aftermarket wheels, someone point out why this guy is popular?
  5. Lets look at why alot of the smaller series are not around or do not get a lot coverage on Tv, and there is one simple reason why. Money, auto racing is dependent on money, and money alone, so when a race series or teams dont not get sponsorship, they dont race, end of story. NASCAR is the biggest race series in America, it gets the most viewer ship , there for its going to get the most money from corparte sponsors, because they know that they have much better chance of getting a return on their investment . I would love to see all the other smaller series get tv time all time, not just selected few race's, but its not going to happen, because it takes money for that to happen, money the company's are not willing to spend on the lower series. So if the Tv networks( Speed Tv) does not have the sponsor's to make up for paying for the television rights, they are not going to air the series on Tv. So you can blame NASCAR all you want, but only a small part of the blame really goes to them. So lets take a moment and think about something, the merger between series could infact be a good thing, with NASCAR taking over, there is a good chance that we might see more of both series on TV, better coverage, so lets wait and see what happens, but its not going to happen tell 2014 I think.
  6. Agreed, but some people love to complain and whine about things. I really dont think the Rolex series has changed all that much, but I am not a die hard follower so I could be wrong
  7. I bought the Toyota one from a seller on ebay, I cant tell you how much I shipping was, because I bought two kits so shipping was around $20 or so. If you buy from HLJ, its selling there for $32.64, and this just guess, but shipping will be around $14, thats what I paid for the last two kits I got from them. So you are looking at a total of $46. Or you can buy from Tokyo hobby on ebay, $32+$12
  8. The Speed channel still airs NASCAR race's the air all the Camping world truck series race's and the air the Gatorade duels and the All Star race
  9. I wonder what the price of the fooseball kits are going to be?, are they going to be more so Revell can give him his cut and Revell still make money ?
  10. They are several plus's for using wraps, and wraps are becoming very popular outside the racing world, but one, wraps weigh a lot less then paint does, and weight and speed are like oil and water, its cheaper to wrap a car then paint it. And in this new era of racing where teams have more then one primary sponsor , it make's sense. Heck, even police dept's are using wraps now to help the resale value You do know that wraping a race car is not just limited to NASCAR right?
  11. So I am not in the cool crowd Read, they dont thinks its a wise money investment to change tooling for the fooseball dudes cars So I am not in the cool crowd anymore, but who is the fooseball dude?, I can say I have never heard of him up intell reading about him getting a few kits. From what I have seen of the drawing's , I dont see the big deal, but again, I dont know anything. So yeah! another re release with some ugly wheels and different tires, cant wait.......................
  12. Oh probably, NASCAR knows it killed the Cup/Nationwide/truck series and those will soon be dead, they need another series to keep queen Brian France in the money. Its also the end of SPEED channel as well, its going to be some sad times for us motorsports fans over the next few years But least now the stock in NASCAR means something for the first time in 30-40 years
  13. NIce job
  14. I am pretty sure I will use Duplicolor clear coat
  15. Jaguar is owned by TATA motors, which is based in India
  16. Body is painted, I think there is three wet coats, up next will be the cleat coats, still waiting on the wheels to get here. I took the pic before the last round of wet coats were put on
  17. I believe that the C6 R was tooled from a die cast, hence the separate door's and hood, the kit is just a kit version of the diecast I built two of them, I did add a engine from a C5R but it took a lot of work , and added the rear axle as well, but its a lot of work for something that cant be seen when its finished Its getting hard to find the C6R kit for less $30
  18. So if paint will last a long time, does it not matter where its stored at?, or does that still come in to play and help it last a long time ?
  19. Not being mean, buts it called google and IMDB.com Thunderbolt and lightfoot
  20. James, thats what I was thinking, and think you are right
