  1. Mine keeps getting smaller, I have I think less then 20, I am building more then buying of late, I keep spending my hobby money on other things that I really dont need
  2. Thanks for the tip, I will try that next time
  3. Same here, if I had choice to spend $2million on car, it sure heck wouldnt be on this, its nice, but not 2mil nice, now a Veyron is 2 million nice
  4. If I am going to spend $30 or more on a Revell kit, it better be just as good as Japanese kit, including window mask ,mesh screen for the grills, no metal axles,or axle holes through engines blocks, ill fitting window glass, blank tire sidewalls, improper sized or wrong tires. I have no problem with spending $30 or more for most Japanese kits, as the old saying goes, you get what you pay for. My only gripe with spending the amount for a Japanese kit is most of time the kits are curbside , but I can live with that.
  5. Thats great Jameston, I know I will be placing an order for a lamborghini aventador color soon .
  6. Yeah! I got one right
  7. Not a bad idea, the only down fall would be if its a WIP thread that has a lot of pictures and for those with slower internet or older computers, it could be a painful process
  8. , I had too Simple, I dont care what scale, I just want the subjects to be accurate, I dont want to have to spend the time correcting something that should be correct out of the box
  9. Ebay is where I have seen them , in fact, I have on in my watch list
  10. Here is a link to the section on the forum that Harry was talking about http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showforum=13
  11. I dont either Greg, before we moved, I was going to the one on 99th and Mcdowell, I like that store, the only thing I like about the one Bell is they have a better selection of tools/and supplys the other one. I may start making the drive the other one
  12. I am not really sure if its any closer, but I was talking about the one on Bell Rd by Arrowhead, I was there today, I guess I was wrong, they restocked, they only seem to have a handful of new kits. They had Ford Phantom, Ecto 1A, Avanti, and few others that I can not remember right this moment
  13. Same with using coupons at Michaels
  14. Think of it like a primer for the primer, and if you think that is odd, you can put it on after you are done with the color coats to get a very nice shine. Read up, you will be amazed at what this stuff can
  15. Dont be cheap when using hot auto paint on plastic, you will ruin the bodys and or the rest of the parts if you use a hot paint with out a good primer I am not sure if you said you used a primer, but if you did, and you still had issues, that means that that primer is not going to hold up to auto paint If you want to use to automotive paint, you really need to use a automotive primers, just be on the safe side Or test the primer and paint on a piece of the kit sprue to see if its going to craze it
  16. Future is a floor wax that us modelers have found can be used as a clear coat, its very plastic friendly, smells good, can be applied with a foam brush, and it makes a great protective layer Here is a nice write about using it in the model world http://www.swannysmodels.com/TheCompleteFuture.html
  17. There are several things you can do to prevent damage One is do what Pat said, primer, but use a automotive primer like Plastikote or Duplicolor and the other thing you can do is, put a coat of Future on the body before you prime it, this will add one more layer of protection .
  18. Thats not what the bean counters think
  19. Remember , we are not as uptight about the that "other" magazine as they are
  20. No you wont , it will streak
  21. I couldnt have said it better either, ebay/paypal have their down faults but, this is a case where I will take the good over the bad, but I am more of a buyer then seller
  22. So it sounds like if the American model company's were to switch to 1/24th scale, they would all go out of business.
  23. All those lost sales of case's that people say they will buy if it was done in 1/24th instead of 1/25th So let get this straight, if a kit gets released that has be sought after to be done more accurate then ones already released, or a new tooled up that was another sought after subject was tooled in 1/24th, no one would buy it? I doubt that and call BS, I think that a accurate kit will sell regardless if its 1/24th/25 scale, but what do I know So lets say if the Hudson Hornet was tooled up in 1/24th, no one would of bought it?
  24. I am waiting for Hobby Lobby to start carrying the Caddy lowrider kit that just came out, I think one closest to me now is getting ready to start adding new kits, the last time I was there, there were a lot of empty space's and a good number of kits at the clearance rack
