  1. The wheels and tires came yesterday , and I picked up some white paint so I can get started on the body
  2. I agree that it would be better if the CBP was open to more racing class's , as there are so many great race car kits to be built out there. Paul, I sent you a friends request on Face Book
  3. You are welcome, some one will else will give you a much better answer then I can, only other thing I can add is , to test on a spare or scrap piece of plastic to see if the different paints will work with each other.
  4. Yes we are out here, but guess who isnt listening to us?
  5. I agree with what has already been said, nice to see some thinking outside the box
  6. I think it lookd great, you are off to a great start, I think it takes more to get the rusty look then to do shiny
  7. Its always good to stay with the same brands for all the stages, well from what I hear, I dont , and for the most part have no problems, I use duplicolor primer, then either tamyia or MM lacquer, and the MM clear coat. But I dont know about HOK, but I think you will be ok
  8. Just wanted to say what a great turn out for the Desert Scale show today, there were just over 330 entrys I think, (its late, dont recall the exact number), a lot, and I mean a lot of great builds, and that made the judging process very hard. MCM's very own Romell was on hand, with some of his build, very impressive in person, and it was a pleasure to meet him, and to get to talk with him a for a little bit. The BBQ at Danno's house was just as great, him and his wife put on one heck a BBQ, the food was great, thanks to Dan and his wife for the hard work they put in for it. MCM was on hand taking pics, and there are going to be some great builds going up for consideration for the magazine. Romell will be posting a group pic we all took at Dans house, as well as I know he was taking pics at the show, so he might post some eye candy, maybe if you ask him nicely lol It was a long day, but fun, and everyone from the Cactus Model Car Club, who puts this event on, Bernie, Dan, and Dale worked there butts off to put this show on, and rest of the club members as well.
  9. I would love to get at least one Rover kit, but they are fetching high price's, I have seen some in the three figures and then some around or starting $50 and up
  10. And that could happen lol, I found a few other kits that I could do, that I think are group c cars, the sauber merc c9 , jaguar xjr8 silk cut
  11. What ever you want to do is fine, just make sure that there are enough kits so we all arent building the same ones at the same time
  12. If you want to do that one, go ahead, I can find something else to start with, are you going to allow more then just c group cars? w
  13. Both of are you are right on the money, and I feel the same way, and I have nothing against them being kitted, but I just want the model company s to start looking at the 70s-90s a little more, for while they did, but now they seem to have forgotten all about that era of cars again. But intell the US model company's do that, most of my money for kits well go to the Japaneses company's, I am one of those person's that builds what I know and what I have been around or grew up with.
  14. I want to do the minolta first
  15. I will be ready say by May,
  16. Shh, dont say that to loud, you might upset someone , last time I checked, this is 2012, so why are the model companys still living in the 40s 50s 60s?, I could care less about the Hudson kit, or the 300 kits, are the great kits, yes, but not for me, I may get one of them at some time, just for the heck of it.
  17. So four of us is enough for a CBP
  18. So me and Rob both grew up during the same time, I grew up with both models and video games, but I can could and still only play video games for so long, then I need to do something else. Just like Rob, I was the only one out of all my friends that built models
  19. Very nice, what did Patto charge you to make the decals?, I buy all my NASCAR decals from him, and asked once about making a set, but a price never was said
  20. Check your clothes
  21. I have a sanding kit, I bought the testors one I think it is, and it came with 3600, but I stopped using it , and now I just 1000/2000 paper , I seem to get the same results with having to spend less time at it
  22. Nice work Dirk, yours looks alot better then the one I did
  23. Nice PD builds Wayne, I will say the Mustang kits were very popular there
