  1. Hi all, Here a link to a Dutch Modelsite. The links are about models I am building. Language unfortunately Dutch but photo's say more than words. http://modelbrouwers.nl/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=32&t=34773 http://modelbrouwers.nl/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=32&t=35038 hope you enjoy this. Hessel the Netherlands
  2. Three from me: And one Oldtimer Thanks, Hessel
  3. It is not a photoshop. Jansen is a company in Eindhoven who drives a 3300 NTT conventional from twenty years old and they wanted their new truck to be a conventional as well. I have not seen the real thing but I think the front step is, as you say, left there from the COE carriage and makes it easy to get access to the engine. Hessel
  4. Well, DAF is owned by Paccar, Maybe with the 'Kenworth' logo on it would do.... Hessel
  5. In fact there is a new DAF conventional. It was build for a firm called Jansen. Here in Holland they owned a 2800 NTT and wanted to replace it for another Torpedo (as we call them) So, this is no photo-shop. Hessel
  6. You wanted a hood on it?? They claim it is not a photoshopped model but I have my doubts. COE trucks are the major trucks in Europe as you all know. It's regulations that makes us making these trucks. They are very good and comfortable. I also like the conventionals better and only build American style models. thanks Hessel
  7. When you look on the back side of the steering box you will find a pin. It is also a solution to drill a hole in the steering rod and glue the steering rod to the back of the part. Maybe this makes the steering more accurate concerning the wheels touching these rods. Your solution is also OK offcourse. I started the Lonestar a couple of days ago. I agree with a lot of you guys saying the instructions are ###### but I find the model very nice. Lots of detailing. I'm converting it to a day cab and have shortened the chassis by about 7 cm (difficult for you: about three inches ;-)) Hessel the Netherlands
  8. My wife has also build this paper model. I will try to get some pics of it. Hessel
  9. Sorry, don't know what you mean by 1;1 section. I appreciate it a lot you will make some photo's for me. I found some films on youtube and other stuff would be helpful. I will try to draw some parts and try to make it with CNC milling. Hessel
  10. Looks like you could make a Japanese style truck. They put lights everywhere they can. In fact there is a Mitsubishi Fuso kit covered with all sorts of lights. I have this one stored, waiting to bee build. Quite rare with a complete chromed cab. Hessel
  11. Don't get me wrong. I like the reissues from AMT as well. Just would like something more modern. I agree, I would by a lot of stuff to let the market know I appreciate the fact they bring new stuff. As for a detachable.... I would like to know how these things work in the US. Here in Europe the coupling system is quite different with the US trailers. If anyone could help me with detailed information about the trailers... Thanks, Hessel
  12. I promised som pics from 1:25 trucks and stuff. Here they are. Hessel
  13. Also welcome to the forum. My wife also builds models from paper. There are quite a few models from trucks and stuff in scale 1:25. Also a lot of military stuff like a complete Dragon Wagon. I will look into some pics and post them Hessel
  14. I have already build a SAR. Here two photo's. Your build looks good so far Hessel
  15. Like many modelers I would like a granite as well. To be honest, I would like to have more 'new' trucks instead of the 'old' AMT releases. Don't get me wrong, I love the model and to build them but a KW T2000 also do. Resin or complete kit doesn't matter. Hessel
  16. Very nice to have a help like this. Will make it possible to make mine as good as possible. Thanks a lot !!!! Hessel
  17. Well, some issues mentioned I feel to react. First of all: Let's have some respect for one-another's building of models. Cars, Trucks, trains what ever. Everyone does a great job for them self. I personally have nothing with trains, plains or military but like to see beautiful models. Like some of you mention. The Lonestar is a lovely model for most of the truck builders. Here in Europe the reissues of Italeri and Revell or ok but really a lot of the same. Just a new decal does not make a new kit. The way the curb kits of Italeri were are not what I'm looking for. For that reason I bought two lonestars to convert one into a daycab. The model is with engine and everything which I like very much. I did not start with it jet but am looking forward to. I just finished a Freightliner DD by AMT and this is also a difficult kit as for fitting parts. I'm also working on a KW T600 by Revell, talking about a bad fitting kit.... I have already had several times the idea of putting it in the bin. Now I have decided to use the chassis for a Resin conversion kit an just trough the cab and sleeper away. The kit is already on my workbench for over a year and I just can't seem to finish it. My idea is to give Moebius some positive feedback to improve their future projects. I welcome them and will also buy the Prostar. The trailer might be mine but I'm not sure about that. I hope you, Gary, will finish this model as you want it. I will look forward to some photo's of itAnd remember, not al the build must have price-winning qualities. Hessel the Netherlands
  18. To spilt up the forum is a choice of everyone hem/herself. Here in Holland we have a forum with building reports and Photo's without a report. Both work but to be honest I'm always on the first forum. On the end of the building report is always a photo of a finished model. For me I would say, don't do it. People will be sorted out so the two forums will attract less people Hessel
  19. The bus kit comes with two engine types. One is a Leyland engine for models that were build until 1996. The second engine is a Scania for models build after 1996. There is also a large sheet with decals in the box. As a builder of trucks it is not really my cup of tea but it is for sure a wonderful model with Revell taking a gamble about sales. It has about 350 parts so no one should be out of work. Hessel
  20. The Krupp is a reissue indeed. I've build it quite a lot of years ago. It is a terrific kit together with the Büssing. Both trucks were the best in their days. Maybe it is possible to make some swap deals with one of you guys. I could sent and you sent something back. With announcing the package as a present it might safe import duties. The Lonestar is a release of 5000 by Revell Germany. One of my friends in the modeling world gave them a tip. Who knows they might start up developing new model them selves. A Mack Vision or KW 2000 would do for me. Hessel
  21. I think the trailer like that is a little straight forward. I know they are common in the US. I personally would like something more in the heavy haulage section. This trailer, forgive me if i'm wrong, could be made out of two Ertl grate dane trailers. Nothing new to me I say. Off course the quality of the kit might be Moebius standard so no worries about that. It is a personal opinion, no more than that. I have developed a drop-deck trailer which was CNC milled. For me OK. Hessel
  22. To be honest I'm a little bit disappointed about the trailer. The photo's on the Lonestar box suggest a sort of step trailer which this is not. Other photo's on the internet suggested a wide spread suspension. Let's wait and see the result. Chrome would likely change my opinion. Hessel
  23. There is a resin version of an Autocar halfcab. I would like more info about that. Will post some photo's Hessel
  24. Not a single one her in Holland, Europe  Hessel
  25. A friend of mine makes a lot of models for truckers. His prices are around € 800,- so $ 1000.- Sometimes he makes more models for the same company so he sprays several models in the same color scene. He says it make is holidays more payable. For me building is hobby. When I build for a trucker I will just let him pay my costs. If he wants to give more that's his choice. I understand you feeling guilty. Hessel
