  1. As a small club of enthusiast model builders of trucks we have developed a trailer for a 20ft container. It is a CNC-milled kit of en trailer which can make quite a nice model if you add wheels and other detail. Info and photo's can be found on: http://public.fotki....type-20ft-cont/ If you want to buy one it just wright an e-mail to the contact address on our website: http://dutchmodeltruck.com/ go to: more about us and you will find the e-mail us button. There is another e-mail possibility: http://dutchmodeltruck.com/containertrailer.html Thanks, Hessel
  2. This Mack would do just fine. What about Caterpillar?? It would be a good advertising for Cat Hessel
  3. Anyone out there who can guess what the future will bring?? Western star maybe....
  4. If you have any questions about the real truck just sent an e-mail to Claus Lassen. I'm sure he will answer all of them. I've build this model a long time ago and Claus saw it on the Intermodellbau in Dortmund, I believe it was the year 2000. The book he wrote about wreckers in America is also very nice but it is in German. Nice model though, this Bill signs Hessel
  5. This looks great, hope to see it in Jabbeke next year. Could you help me with details about the detachable gooseneck you have constructed ?? Hessel the Nerherlands
  6. Well, that is partly true. Günther is a high quality model builder who wants to have some new models as well. He scratch builds a lot of his models and often wins prices at the 'On the Road' show in Jabbeke, Belgium. He transfers his polls to Revell and Italeri and the last time he did they came with the dump trailer which is partly based on a, by Günther, converted Emek model. The reissue of the MAN Formel 6 is also a fact of Günther's poll from a few years ago and let us mot forget, the Volvo VN was also one of the model which had a high responds in his poll. So... if you do this survey in a serious way maybe your wishes will come true. Hessel
  7. Thanks to round 2 younger modelers (says someone of 45 ) are able to buy the wonderful kits of the old days. Here in Holland these kits were also then hard to find. To be honest I sometimes think the exclusivity gets lost. I think the case of looking for these old kits is part of the hobby, I know for me it is. But.... my list: White western star KW challenge mixer GMC astro with generator engine Massey Ferguson tractor International tractor Sorry, these tractor or very rare and as a load on our models very nice. 8. Thanks for that. But I think this is just a try and not anything like the real thing. I will look into this one. Other info is always welcome. Hessel
  9. Last year I have seen the color scene on a White road commander. The model was shown on the Jabbeke 'on the road' modelling show which is every year in march in Belgium. two pics. Hessel
  10. For some time I have tried to get information about detachable gooseneck trailer. The American trailers are very different to European one's and since I only build American trucks I would like to know how these trailer look like. Factory drawings would of course be wonderful but photo's or specification sheets would do. Could anyone of you help with this?? Project is for long term so no rush. Hessel the Netherlands Europe
  11. To remove paint from your model can also be done by putting the model in a box with brake fluid. After some time the paint starts blistering and you can remove it with an old tooth brush. I have done this several times and it works fine for me. Even resin models don't get damaged. Hessel
  12. If you or anybody has troubles finding these models. Sent me a mail. Here in Europe these kits are easy to find and who knows we can make swap deals. You help me, I will help you. Hessel the Netherlands Europe
  13. About a year ago I finished my Autocar 'Straight of the box' It is the original issue. Colors also like the box says. Other models still in progress. Hessel
  14. This trailer is build as a one-of but maybe I can cut a little more. I will have to think about that. To be honest, the trailer is build around wheels from a Imai kit (scale 1:28) the tires are therefor a little wide. Tires from AMT (the old, small ones) would do. I have drawn some new stuff as well. One of them is a cheetah heavy goods trailer. They still have to be milled. I do not have a machine of my own and also the poly-styreen has to be bought. I will try to keep you up with the possibilities. Hessel
  15. He is one of my best friends. He is de one who developed the container chassis I was talking about. I will make some photo's to post. Hessel
  16. Here in Holland we have founded a small group of modelers who want to promote the truck modeling as much as possible. We are only with five people but are working on a lot of things. Some of you might know the Fotki site with all kinds of info about model trucks and other stuff. Lately we have some other projects involving CNC milling. A friend of mine has drawn a container chassis for a 20ft container which we have milled in a number of about 20 kits. Personally I have drawn a step-deck trailer. On the internet I found a drawing of a Doonan trailer which helped me with the drawing. I made it to carry my Ertl Drag trucks. As a front truck there is a Pete 386, a resin conversion by Tim Ahlborn. enjoy Hessel
  17. Hello all, Being quite new to this forum I would like to show my Mack Superliner with dump trailer. Color scene is just fantasy with some help from the internet. I'm from the Netherlands, Europe and as you might know we have a complete different guidelines for trucks. For the small roads we have here compared to the highways in the US conventional trucks are quite rare over here. Most trucks are COE and US trucks are also rare. Seeing one makes my head turn. Anyway, there are some companies using US trucks like Mack, Peterbilt and Kenworth. It makes good advertising. In a few weeks we have a truck festival and a lot of these US trucks can be seen there. But now my Mack Hessel
  18. I'm looking for this Turbine kit for quite a while. To buy it in the US gives me a big amount of postage for sending it to Europe. Add the cost of the kit and you can imagine my "problem". Over here the kit is very rare and hard to find, and when found it is even more expensive. This build looks very nice. Keep on doing the good (modeling) work Hessel
  19. Hello all, In the early days of truck models in scale 1:25 AMT issued quite a lot of box sets, or Gift sets or sometimes called Gift box sets. Names were very confusing. In Holland we have quite a lot of information about the separate models which were put together to form the box sets but we do not have any photo's from the box art. Jeff a.k.a. Cornpatch stated a lot of the models with their number etc (thanks Jeff) so I know about the models. Now, to make the archive of kits as accurate as possible I would like to have photo's from the box-Art of these gift sets. There is always the possibility AMT just sealed the two boxes together but if that is the case I would like to have photo's of that. If there is anyone who could help me..... with regards, Hessel the Netherlands Europe
  20. Hi Jeff, On the bottom of this message you reply with a question mark about a number of a box you don not have. Do you have the other sets?? Hessel
