  1. The last AMT 50 3100 I bought had Multiple sets of instruction sheets also. I checked the parts and they were all there so I wasn't worried about it. Actually I bought two kits at the same time and only one of them had the multiple instruction sheets, of corse they both had the sheets for English, Spanish, French, and German. CHEERS! Tom
  2. That style of Tyre was only used from about 66 till Kenny went to the 500cc Gp class in 73, and brought his hanging off the bike style, that kept the bike more upright with him. He Totally Dominated GP Motor Cycle Racing with his style and the other riders soon copied him, ending the days when bikes were leaned over at extreme angles. That also ended the V Section tyres. If you want to see bikes with those tryes, search for GP bikes ran during that time. Here is a photo of a Honda with those tyres: CHEERS! Tom
  3. If you remove that awful Chrome From the Parts Pack Engines they build up quiet well, it is that Chrome that Keeps them from fitting together right. I would Like to see all of the Revell and AMT parts Packs reissued. I would also like to see The Badman, and Nomad Kits with the Gasser Straight axle and all of the rest of the Gasser Options reissued. The AMT Studebaker KIts Would also be nice to have reissued.   5. Those Tyres are Correct for The Period, They had a V cross section so they would put more tread area on the road when leaned into a turn. The Tyres were strictly Road Racing Tyres, and illegal for street use! I agree that is a Great Kit and it is accurate in Detail, and layout! I am a total Fan of GP Motorcycle racing! There was nothing like seeing Mike The Bike Hailwood Turning Laps on A Honda Six or the Honda 8, or Augustini on one of the Fabulous Agusta 3s. Until Kenny Roberts went to Europe and Taught All of the GP Riders a totally new way to ride. CHEERS! Tom
  6. In injection molding the licquid Plastic is blown into the molds at very high presure So that hopefully the plastic will completely fill the mold. Those round impressions you see on the inside of bodies are the locations of the injection nozels. Back in the Seventies when I was racing Slot Cars as a Pro I was taken on a tour of the Revell Factory and they showed me how the models were made. There was some talk of me being a spokesman for Revell's Slot Cars, But the Man I raced for shot it down, which was his right as I was Representing his Slot Car Company, and He was paying me to race for him. I will agree that the trophy series got a lot of people thinking about their builds, and helped to get more people thinking out of the box, and start Kit Bashing, because a lot of the parts were interchangable between kits. You could easily use a motor from one of the 32 Fords in an A Model, or the nailhead from the forty, or the Olds from the 39 in any of the other kits, as they all used the same motor mounts, also due to the metal axels all of the wheels from the differeht kits could be used on the other kits. I would still not call it the best series, for several reasons; The casting quality was hit or miss( I have two 32 Ford Roadsters from 1960, one is fairly well done with only minor flash and a few sink holes that are easy to fix, the other one from the same year has an area on the right door that came out of the mold with a hole in it. I only discovered the hole after I cleaned so much mold release agent of of the body that it turned the scrubing bath and my scrub brush black. In the same kit one side of the 241 Hemi Block is totally deformed. I found the same problem with the 241 in the AlaKart, Roadster twin kit I just cleaned up last week, another early AMT kit. If AMT had done better Quality Control, and if they had bothered to get the proportions of the cars a little better, I would agree with the Trophy series being the best series but I can't. even though I still enjoy using them to creat early Hot Rods. My vote for the Best Series has to go to the Revell 32 Ford Series because they are well made kits, with mostly accurate proportions, and the Arrived on the scene right when they were needed to rejuvinate the Model Car Hobby. I know they got me back to being enthusiastic about building. I will have to confess that two of the builds I am working on now use kits from the Trophy Series in them! There have been other good series issued over the years, and I don't want to just overlook them, but none of them had the empact on the Hobby that the Trophy Series, and Revells 32 Ford Series have!   9. I use most of the nethods Dr Cranky posted! For Bodies I use 1" cast Iron Pipe connecters, and ICB Root Beer Bottles with blue painters tape fixed across one end of the pipe connecters, and the mouth of the ICB bottles with the stickie side out. Just fold it across and then rap a piece of tape around the pipe connecter or bottle to hold it on. The nice thing about these is they are easy to place in my drying cabinet, they are stable enough not to fall over if i accidently bump the cabinet. CHEERS Tom
  10. I have always been a Collecter, I have a hard time parting with anything I have Built and/or Modified! At the time that I became disabled, and lost my ability to do any type of work that depended on mobility, and strength, I owned 26 1:1 Hot Rods and Muscle Cars. One of those cars Was an AV8 that I started Building when I was 12 years old. The Cars were: That first 29 Ford Roadster on the original frame boxed and strengthened, dropped front axel 40 Ford Brakes, 40 Ford Wheels, 46 Merc Flattie with Offy 8.5 Heads Two 97s on an Adapter, Isky 400 Camm, and the 46 Merc Trans had 39 Zypher Gears, it was painted with Black Primer from spray cans. I loved that old Rod, and kept it even though I built much better ones later. I finally parted with my 1:1 Rides because I couldn't take care of them, and we needed the money at the time! I'm also a Slot Car Racer and I still Have some of my Pro GRP7 Cars from the early seventies, I have over 800 Slot Cars, and a Large fully Terrained Track there are photographs of my track in the Model Racing section of this Forum. I only have about 200 Scale Model car kits. My hobbies take up two rooms and part of another room, but I only spend about $25 to $30 a week on them. I also still buy a lot of books, I love to learn, and if the day comes when I can't learn something, I will nolonger be me! When I was Healthy I would spend a couple hundred dollars every week on hobbies, plus the money I spent On My Wife and I going out, and taking our Children places they wanted to go. If I didn't have my Hobbies I wouldn't be able to make it from day to day with the amount of pain I have to live with, so neither my Wife or I think I spend to much on my hobbies! CHEERS! Tom
  11. On a Kit Car anything goes, the Cobra is an eye catcher with the snake skin strips. I would like it better if the snake skin was Ghosted on but then it is what the owner wanted on his car, and like I said it catches the eye, and makes that car stand out from the hundreds of other Cobra Replicas, that we see at Cruize ins and shows!   16. Now I want to build a T Model Speedster, and I already have 2 A Model Gow Jobs, and a 32 Gow Job on the Bench. At this rate I'll never get back to my Post WWII Hot Rods! CHEERS! Tom
  17. For Kits it is mostly Model Round-up, but I do buy from some others. I have several online Stores that I buy Tools, and supplies from, including Amason.com! For paints I like to use the Maker's site. CHEERS! Tom

The worst Kits I have bought are: 1: Lindberg 32 Ford Roadster Pickup, a TOTAL Desaster of a Kit! 2: Lindberg T roadster Pickup! 3: Lindberg 67 Chevell! 4: AMT General Lee! 5: AMT 34 Ford Sedan Terrible Body, but it does have a good Flathead for the Time period The kit came out! 6: AMT Chevy Caprice kit with the trailer, more like a toy than a serious model car kit! I have had other bad kits, but these are the ones I remember most for their poor quality! CHEERS! Tom
  19. Beautiful Alpine! You have done a good job on this little pocket rocket! I owned an Alpine Renault and it was a blast to drive, but I ended up selling it when my Daughter was born, I needed a car with more room in it. CHEERS! Tom

  21. Alcad is airbrush only. As far as I know there isn't a spray can paaint that will do chrome correctly. CHEERS! Tom

  24. I use Alcad Chrome sprayed in a couple of light coats over Gloss Black Enamel. Then sealed with Alcad Sealer, Do NOt Spray Clear over Alcad as it will kill the metal look. CHEERS! Tom
  25. Like I said else where this is one great build. I think your Sedan version is better than The Orignal Coupe that Came out in Rebel Rods Magazine, and the fact that it is only about two months since the Mag came out, makes what you have created truly AMAZING! VIVA el General! CHEERS! Tom
