lindberg 1/20 s10
mnwildpunk replied to gray07's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
I don't mean to steal a thread but seeing your lindberg S-10 it raises a question. I have a testor 2 car kit both 1/20 scale the first is a dodge stealth the second is an S-10 that appears to be the exact same as your lindberg. Are testor and lindberg related co.? -
1954 chevy panel truck

Well the picture of the hood doesn't show what is going on properly. As you can see there is the two gaps where the hinges are the hood lines up in the front but the hood gap gets bigger the farther you go back from the front it rises up and then in the picture you see the gap on the right side. -

I have also been working on the engine. I have most of it assembled but not detailed with wires and such which leads me to a question the wire for the alt where should that lead to? I know from the battery ground goes to the frame and positive leads to the starter but wouldn't the alternator also run to the battery? -

I got my new toy today an air compressor for my air brush. I just have to say WOW I'll never use spray paint again!!! I'll only hand paint tiny details from now on. I got it home and I was like a little kid I couldn't wait to paint something. Sadly the only thing I had ready for paint was my frame. Since it's a daily diver type of build I went with flat black I have a few things I need to learn with my badger 200 but over all it's great. -

Today is a great day to be an american!!! Probably my favorite day of the year. What are you doing to celebrate your countries independence? To any veterans on this site I want to say thank you for your service; without it this day may not of been possible! To everyone have a great day and be safe!! -

mnwildpunk replied to mnwildpunk's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I was an eletronics major in college I was almost finished when I had to drop out because of my transplant. Yes I know eletricity is nothing to p play with and you respect it. But,thank you for the warning -
What are the popular places you guys go to get tires, dizzies, carbs, interior parts flocking and things of that nature? I had one bookmarked on my old computer that had tons of stuff even people and buildings objects but for the life of me I can't remember what it was

Lightning McQueen

I wish I had a pic but a guy made a McQueen out of a dodge stealth here in the cities. Looks pretty good if you went off of that I would donate my stealth kit -

Mater looks to me to either be a 57 chevy P.U. Or a 55 I.H. -
I wish my disability check would come so I can get an air compressor for my airbrush. I know I will catch flack from some of you for where I'm going to buy it (harbor freight) for the rest of ya here is a question. I already have a badger airbrush which I love but I was wondering H.F. Sells just the compressor or for an extra $20 you can get the kit with an airbrush included. I think it would be handy to have an extra A.B. But I worry that is no good. Anybody used that airbrush? How is it working out for you?

What is a magneto?

Thank you gentleman now I have to ask is it akin to the old generators? also if I am reading out right it would be the exact opposite of an electromagnet? -
I'm putting together a 409 which in the kit can be built as a street version and a race version. On both versions it has no dizzy and uses a magneto. What is a magneto and how does one work?

Now for some reason I can't post two pics in one message. I'm in need of suggestions on how best to attack my hood problem? I was thinking of just using filler for the 2 holes where the hood meets the cowl but I'm clueless on how to attack the gap issue on the right hand side? I have been thinking of how one could make a frame rack like the ones we use at my job. In my opinion working on models is harder then the real thing lol. -

Not a whole bunch done pretty much prepping parts still while I wait for some $$ & time to grab my air compressor. I did do a little frame work I dremmeled a tiny bit off the front axle so the tires sit better in the frame. Removed the molded in gas tank. I need to figure out my crooked frame. I also want to drop the rear like I did my front. -

I owned a 78 red 1:1 luv pickup it didn't look this nice but I loved that little truck I haven't seen one around in years. if I found another one in stock form I would snatch it up. Very good job on the model I like the bow tie box cover -
Elmers glue for clear plastic parts don't use testor cement or super glue on clear parts!! You may already know this but that's my 2 cents

I tried the search feature with no luck. Are there are model clubs in the minneapolis area? If so dates and times if them thank you

Before assembling anything is there a jig or something a guy could make? As I'm test fitting parts I can tell something is warpedm but I can't tell if it's the frame that is all whack-a-doed or the floor pan maybe both?

Best Brushes for Detailing?
mnwildpunk replied to JohnnnyD's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
after replying last night I was thinking if it were me people tell me this and that and I'd still be lost when I went to the store. The upper brush is my favorite because of the soft grip and it's a 20/0 the lower is even finer at a 10/0 as you can see it has seen more then it's fair share of use and needs to be replaced. Both are great for dry brushing. The upper brush was just used to on the 1/25 scale hard hat that comes in the 65 Elky kit. There is a tiny J.H. on the hat which I was able to get N.P. Also I learned something tonight about the sable brushes and such thanks guys. Take care and hope this helped
