  1. I know the 50's-70's gassers used solid front axles and they ran normal gasoline I'm not positive but didn't they shift a lot of the car rear ward for better grip? I would like to know what was the class desigation? Why and how did they usually raise the front end. What ever else can you guys teach me about them I'd be happy to learn Also are there are any gasser models currently out that would be worth picking up? This is research for a project I have in mind and wikipedia and the internet failed in giving me answers except the basics of which I knew most of already
  2. What I did was glue a small piece of evergreen to the center to form a handle of sort then then used bondlene for were it needed to be. I placed the part and held it there with a tooth pick while I removed the handle. But please guys keep sharing because I know this won't be the last time I'll need to work with tiny parts I'm already going to steal a all your ideas
  3. I am wondering what hints or tips you have for when you have little tiny parts to deal with? Right now I'm dealing with a part that is 3mm long by 1mm wide and 1\3mm thick and I have to place it in an area the same size on the body. I'm not having any luck
  4. how is this cool? I'm still trying to figure out the thing under the grille is that for playing bumper cars later? Oh don't get me started on the hose on the fender
  5. There are two one piece at a time cadillacs that I've heard of this one was called the psychobilly-cadillac
  6. I'm working on a 54 sedan delivery. Well this whole model has been one step forward and six backwards. Have you ever had a model that fought you tooth and nail and what was it?
  7. Sorry I've been busy so not much to report . I feel a little silly about the frame issue; I was way over thinking things, all it took was two fingers and some light pressure to get it straight. I'm waiting for my pre-wired magneto to show up so I can finish up the engine. I'm still not real happy with the five blade fan that came in the kit. Thinking of finding a different one. I'm heading to my first M.C.C.M meeting tonight so I'm sure I'll get great tips from a model car club that has been around for 30 years. By the way I decided to go with a metallic blue body color. I'm also kicking around the idea of making script decals of my business Isle detail it! L.L.C on the sides. Testor makes a program that you can print your own decals right? Do you need special ink for that?
  8. You'll probably laugh but I'm color blind so I don't pay attention to color combinations. I'm building a 54 sedan delivery and I've been looking on the net and finding interior pictures is like finding hens teeth! I was going to do gray carpet and seats. The dash will be body color? (metallic blue) and b.m.f. door panels would be blue & gray with black armrests. Would any of these colors clash? I can't find a picture of the rear area would it be wood like a truck bed or carpet like the trunk of a sedan?
  9. Nice job! I like the stance a lot
  10. Awesome the paint looks a mile deep (or I guess 1.6 kilometers to you) I agree about who cares if it doesn't have mirrors or the engine is the wrong color. Although I did not know that the engines were painted body. Over all a terrific job
  11. I guess I'm crazy too because I really like the white tail light panel s also! Amazing work all around
  12. Great if d.c. Doesn't like humidity I'll have to wait until winter because MN summers are always humid
  13. It must of been the humidity because I did mist coats
  14. I just want to say thank you to every member of this web site. Ya'll make this my favorite place to go on the web! The knowledge that everybody shares here is making my models look much better then I ever thought they could! Thank you all so much
  15. Not sure if this is the right place for this question I have never used dull coat before. I bought model master acrylic dull coat and used it last night I loved the way it sprayed. Like I say I have never used it before so is it normal for a sort of cloudy look I don't know if you can see it in the pic. I like the look and I'm not complaining but just not totally sure this is how it is supposed to look
  16. Hey guys I need your opinion what would be a good color to paint my deliver? I have an idea but not sure if it's a good idea I was thinking of painting the top half white and then below the belt line I would have some other color? What do you guys think?
  17. wow they never even made a convertible during the second generation
  18. My question is why was he mixing paint near a potential ignition source? It's always sad to hear about someone losing a house to fire.
  19. Kenny thanks for calling me a youngin . You made my day. granted I'm not old but I certainly don't feel young anymore. As far as what you said I would much rather have the details on why you do things. It makes more sense to me that way.
  20. no that's ###### your thinking of I'm sorry I couldn't resist honestly I'd like an old flatty to put in a rod
  21. I have a badger 200 airbrush and I love how nice the the paint looks after spraying. I have a few questions though 1. I bought mine second hand unused so what should I set the air pressure at? 2. During my practicing I was using acrylic paint and after a few minutes I had to stop and clean the brush because I assumed paint dried on the needle is this common? 3. Can I use it to spray primers and clearcoats?
  22. My name is paul and this is between y'all. (quote from pulp fiction) anywho I originally was thinking I had to divide but like I said my brain was getting in my own way. Thank you all for the advice though
  23. I'm thinking of building a speaker box for my 1/25 54 sedan delivery and my brain is getting in my way. I want to build it to scale or close to. Please tell me if I'm on the right track? First I'd convert all measurements to inches (mm might be easier?) Then just multiply my measurement by .25? Is that correct? Next anybody built realistic looking speakers before? I'm looking to make 2 round 4", 2 6x9" and 1 10" subwoofer with box and amp.
