  1. Here are some modern funny cars. It probably won't take too long for folks to see that I'm a bit of a Prudhomme and Prudhomme racing fan so a lot of my builds revolve around that. Tommy Johnson, JR. Skoal Monte Carlo funny car. And a Ron Capps Copenhagen Camro funny car.
  2. I don't ever remember seeing this one done Dave. All your builds are great including this one. The only thing missing is the Chik Fil A sponsorship on the car, LOL!
  3. I am actually in the process of converting my pro mod research album into multiple albums to make it easier for folks to navigate through all of the pictures. The link above still works but slowly that album will be disolved as I transfer those pictures into seperate albums designated for specific parts of pro mods. Here is the link to all of those albums that have already been started. And as Dave stated above, it all depends on what era pro mod/top sportsman style car you are planning on building as to how far you go with the body work changes, and that's only if you want to be as detail specific as possible. How you do it is all up to you. http://public.fotki.com/1320wayne/model_research-1/pro-mod-research/
  4. It's on the list but I need the Willys body cast to convert into the 40 Ford first. Rommell, the Monte Carlo is awesome. If I recall I remember seeing this model pictured in some mags back in the day and it was always a wonder to look at.
  5. And a couple more.
  6. Now how's about some Top Fuelers?
  7. Not to sound like a self promotion but I am currently working on the revised version of this body for Chris with the modern shovel nose front end and the higher, peaked front fenders. It should be ready for casting within a month or so.
  8. I don't think I'd refer to this stuff as "feather light". I have a few pieces from being cut into sections of about 2"x2"x9" and each one of those weighs about 1 to 2 pounds.
  9. Superb job. I was never very impressed with these kits as the body proportions always seemed kind of chunky to me but these are two of the nicest builds from these kits that I have seen.
  10. I've been using it for about just more than a year now but I've only utilized it for making bucks for resin casting molds. Never have I tried to use it for some of the applications listed here and that link above is truely amazing with the Ford Tri Motor being scratchbuilt.
  11. I would be more than happy to if someone can explain to me how to attach a PDF article to a post where everyone can view it. Either way, (and I'm probably asking for it) anyone that wants this emailed to them can pm me your address and I will send it to you.
  12. I created a tutorial that you may be referring to. If you send me a pm with your email address I can send it to you in PDF format. It includes all of the CORRECT ways to adjust these kits with minimal effort and maximum results.
  13. Looking better and better with each update.
  14. Rob, the only thing I can tell you about this setup is that I was told that the builder took a Ford 429 and stretched it into a V-10. I'm not sure what the induction on top is.
  15. Here is a link to the pics. from the August meeting for the new club known as FAST. It stands for Florida Auto and Scale Truck builders. This is a newly formed club based out of the Ocala area (North of orlando along I-75). If I am correct this would probably be the second formal meeting of this new group. A good turnout with probably about 20 in attendance. Watch for more to transpire from this new club in future months. http://public.fotki.com/1320wayne/fast-club-meetings/august-fast-meeting/
  16. Nice job Roger. Yellow looks good. Are those decals from Decals by Lucas? If so how are they to work with?
  17. Yes, I received your email with the app. and the agenda.
  18. I think you went the right way with the rims to compliment the color scheme. Looks good so far.
  19. Jim, at this time I am planning on being there. When we find the store where do we go once we're inside?
  20. Guys, thanks for the comments. Jim, maybe I can show this off in person as I hope to be able to make the meeting this Saturday.
  21. Wow, I lost track of this one. So glad your back on it. Those wheels look great. Looks like the technique shown on the Straightliners site. Can't wait to see more.
  22. In amongst all of the other projects that I have ongoing I decided to pull one from the shelf and do another rebuild on it. This will be the second time that I have rebuilt this one as I just haven't been satisfied with the finished piece. This one started life as a Jimmy Flintstone "Cadzilla" style resin body that I picked up years ago and built years ago. It was originally done as a pro street 51 Chevy using a Revell kit for the chassis and interior. Not happy with that one, years ago I pulled it apart, cut the roof off, added a turtledeck and turned it into a roadster. I built it as a curbside with a late model Corvette interior, painted it transparent blue over blue with some green ghost flames. I messed up the paint so rather than start over I covered up the mistake with a blanket. Here is what it looked like after the first rebuild. Now, years later, I decided that I was still not happy with it so I tore it apart, sanded down the body, primed it and got it ready for it's new exterior look. When it's done it will still be a curbside with the same Vette interior, but the overall appearrance should look quite different. I decided that I wanted to use this build as a trial for my attempt at making more of my own decals on my home computer. The body has been painted with Valspar white and masked off with a silver base and Testors Transparent Blue sprayed over that. Once dry and a little wetsanding to smooth out any rough edges on the seperation, I added some barbed wire graphics from a Slixx sheet. From there the flames were done on my computer. They were a really good looking set of flames that I found on the net, exported them into a Word document and then stretched them to match the side profile of the car. This is where I'm at so far. I'm working on a new tire/wheel combination, although the rears don't really show at all. More to come.
  23. Impressive detail work.
  24. Thanks Ron for the links to your photos. They will come in handy to finish this project and for any future SS projects. As for the pulleys they are old Detail Master aluminum pulleys that I had in the parts drawer.
  25. Great job on the body Rickard. I'm sure that we'll be in for a treat once you really get into the build, especially after seeing what you did with the Nova.
