  1. A year or so after taking my wife to Boston and seeing a ballgame at Fenway Park I brought this little guy home to her for her birthday. As a result his name is Fenway. He brings joy and extra happiness to our lives each and every day.
  2. Superb looking build, John.
  3. After seeing this one already on another forum I believe what Tyrone did to achieve the green pinstriping was to leave the mask in place after painting the purple and then free handing the outline using the mask as a guide. It really is the easiest way to do this without wavering on your line work. Great job Tyrone.
  4. Tyrone builds some really great models. We have been seeing his builds for quite some time now over on the drag racing forum. Excellent builds Tyrone.
  5. The decals are aftermarket. They were from a company called Just Want to Build a Model. The decals may still be readily available on Ebay from time to time. They are awesome and went on great. Thanks for the comments.
  6. Here is my first 2011 completed project. It is the Revell Mopar Craftsman Nascar truck built primarily out of the box with a few additions or changes. The ride height has been lowered to better the stance and I used a Modern Motorsports resin exhaust in place of the kit part. The decals are from JWTBM.
  7. Some very interesting subjects lined up for 2011. Nice presentation as well.
  8. Dave, these are real rubber. And Chris has told me that if you put a small amount of downward pressure to them they actually wrinkle like a real tire. Also, for those of you commenting on the need for vintage style slicks. If these first styles are popular enough then I might get Chris to delve into other sizes and styles.
  9. The last time I checked this was model building in scale. It's pretty hard to make any aspect of a model look like the real 1:1 counterpart. If, as you say, this has been a problem with almost all model tires then maybe there's a reason for that. Personally I think that these tires look great. And I haven't even seen one up close and in person yet. And I'm sure that with the limited number of choices out there that these will be well received when they are in full production.
  10. Progress is coming along nicely.
  11. Hey Richard, the Firebird is done and ready to be shipped off to Chris for casting. It should be ready for release around the same time as the slicks.
  12. I don't want to commit to answering that question about the sanding of the mold line until I receive a set and find out for myself. From what I see they will be as easy (or difficult) however you feel, as sanding the mold lines from a set of the Pegasus (formerly So Real) slicks. You will most likely have to place your thumb or finger inside the tire to support the sanding process. They should be ready for sale sometime in January.
  13. So, what is one of the biggest areas of limited choices in available parts for modern style drag cars?............................................................................................... Tires and wheels! So, I wanted to show off the preliminary shots of the first rear slick that is being manufactured by Top End Miniatures. What you are seeing here is the first slick to be popped out of the mold. It is thin, hollow rubber and has all of the consistency of the real thing. This first version being created is the Pro Stock tire. There will also be sizes for modern funny car/top fuel, pro mod, sportsman and 10.5 racing. Top End Miniatures will be back in operational mode sometime during the month of January and these slicks will be available at that time. Something else to look forward to in the near future will be multiple wheel designs for both rear and front wheel configurations.
  14. That's a real standout paint scheme. Nice work.
  15. I have a few long term projects that were started wtihin the last few years that I would love to get finished but then there's always those new inspirations that interrupt that flow. Slixx has some new decals being released for the 68 Hemi Dart so that one will be squeezed in somewhere.
  16. For those of you that haven't ever seen the "Christmas Vacation" movie, this means Merry Christmas in Hawaiian.
  17. Great work on all of those.
  18. Very nice ride height. Looks cool! The tire detail is superb as well. Overall it looks great. Can't wait to see more.
  19. O.K., let the but kissing commence. My purist inspiration here is none other than Gregg, himself. I am proud to call Gregg a friend and I have to say that anyone that can endure the day to day pain, suffrering and discomfort that he has to go through with his back issues and keep a positive attitude each and every day and continue to do what he does to help move this hobby in a positive direction deserves credit as truely inspirational. Other than that I would also have to agree with most that have posted here and say that there are so many inspirational builders here on this forum that anyone of us could learn so much from when it comes to building skills.
  20. Checked the two here in the Daytona area. 32nd scale Lindberg kits at one and Mono. plane kits and Italeri tank kits at the other. I will have to start keeping track in the future.
  21. Very impressive finish.
  22. Cox was also a primary sponsor on Bill Schifsky's Pinto bodied funny car in the early 70's.
  23. Here was another stunner seen at the car show at the Daytona Speedway this past weekend. This is a 2010 Hemi Cuda convertible converted from a 2010 Challenger. It was absolutely incredible looking.
  24. Here are some pics. of the 2011 Charger, seen this weekend at the Turkey Rod Run car show at the Daytona International Speedway. It has some new styling changes to it that will give a bit of old school Charger identity. I believe this has already been talked about here but I still thought I would show off some more images of the updated body style.
  25. Great looking build. It's really hard to make an all white car look appealing but you did an outstanding job on this one.
