Do you still have any of the windshields? I am starting work on one of these and would be interested in one. How about the wheels...do you have any of those too? Your build turned out great! Very realistic looking. I am following you over at the Type 3 Ghia too. Kevin

V-Dub fan here and otta say this is a really nice build of a more unique subject. Excellent work! Kevin -
Got my V-Dubs in the mail yesterday. I am excited to have them. Now I just have to get some time to get one of them started. I will probably want to start on the Ghia first. They look good, but as you mentioned, will take a lot of work. My Ghia actually came with the front and rear windows so very happy about that. The Notch did not. I am about finished with my present project of a prehistoric Gastornis (terror bird) and Propaleotherium (small horse), so need to stay on them for the time being. Once I get going on this project I will post pics though. Thanks again for the info allowing me to get them ordered and in hand! Kevin

I ordered my Ghia and the Notchback yesterday. Hope to have them within the next couple weeks. Tapani was great and answered my e-mails very quickly and got the order moving right away. Great service! Kevin

I have made contact and hope to have enough money shortly to pick up the Ghia and Notch both. I am so looking forward to having these in hand. What was your source for the BRM's I know there is a guy making an amazing set of those but they are really expensive. Especially if you have him completely finish them paint and all. I am still trying to get my dual cab pick up body too, but have been struggling with that for over a year. Wish I could find someone with one they wanted to sell as my purchase source is not coming through for me. The first time I ordered from them they were out. I kept a standing oprder with them but when they got the next order in he did not send me mine and so now they are out again and I got screwed over. I still have a standing order as I do not know of another US source. Kevin

You are doing some beautiful work here! Love that turned brass piece you just added. It was well worth the time it took you to do it! Kevin -
Ingenious on how you made the rubber boots!!! That steering assembly is killer done.

About crapped when I saw your steering set up. Excellent concept and engineering of making that item up. This project just keeps getting better and better. Can't wait to see the completed car! Kevin

Looking great! Where is that first set of wheels you had on there from. I like those. They look pretty real and I think they would work on one of my Bug projects. Kevin

Beautiful paint work!!!

Are you sure you did not just shrink a real one? What scale are you working in here?
-
Did you build a jig to make the frame or were you just laying on that cutting board and soldering? Just curious how you wnet about it. I am going to be building some aircrfat fuselage interior framing and was wondering. I did a little bit in the past where I taped the pieces to a piece of tracing papaer and did it burning away the paper as I soldered. That actually worked pretty well.
