  1. Ok. I know it's only a Studebaker but let me apologize in advance to all the stock guys. I modified the chassis to lower it. Here's a mock up of where it will sit.
  2. Thanks Steven. It will certainly be different. I will tell you that I won't be able to build it stock. Just not in me to do so. So, for some of you, it's going to feel like I ruin it. We'll see what it stirs up but it's the way I want to see it on my display case. Maybe the next one I can go stock to calm the natives. Thanks for following and viewing, everyone.
  3. Haven't tackled the interior yet so tbd at this point. No updates yet but I wanted to share what it looks like in the sun. Less blurry too.
  4. Thanks for the comments guys. No updates yet but I did want to share it while the sun was setting.
  5. Always thought this car was odd looking but very Americana. Anyways, I just wanted a basic build to get the juices flowing again. Having a hard time staying focused on more advanced builds. This one is molded in black although I have the one molded in blue as well. Anyone know the difference other than the color? Anyways, I'd been wanting to try the Rootbeer Brown from Testor's One Coat Lacquer line. Here it is. Looks nice, I think. Laid down well. Waiting for the clear to dry, so on to the guts next.
  6. Got off work early to spend some extra time at the bench. Having fitting issues with the hearse. Grrrrrr Needed a break so I got to work on this one. The interior just needs the steering wheel. Test fit the engine also. I'm liking it, I'm liking it!!
  7. Alright. So I needed a change from the hearse and the 66 Nova. This started only as an experiment using Alclad paints. Coming out better than I thought so I decided to start a thread and continue the build. These are the Alclad colors I used in order. Silver candy base Candy lemon yellow Candy golden yellow on bottom half only Candy red bottom half heavy and light mist on the rest of the body. Aqua gloss All sprayed about 5 minutes apart
  8. Thanks for the comments Austin, Jeremy n Vince. Got a bit of work on it tonight. Added windows and curtains. Gave the engine a dark wash as well. This ain't no show car so, there!
  9. That's pretty cool. Pro street huh? I guess this is for folks that can't wait to move on after burying their significant other. Lol. Thanks for sharing it. Can't wait to finish mine.
  10. This looks great, Bruce. Always wondered what a finished one would look like.
  11. Great color choice. The wheels are a great touch.
  12. I did get a little work in for this one. The interior is pretty much done. Added some silver/chrome to the trim. Laid some nice glossy paint on the casket and finished the crypt. Here are some pics.
  13. Started with some packing material I had lying around. Added pieces of styrene to replicate concrete blocks. Added filler in between. Adding a statue Thought about pillars but not sure if they go with the entrance.
  14. Gloss black and engine work. Its the engine from the 59 Caddy kit Unfortunately the rear of the body was in rough shape so I ended up gluing the rear door shut. I really wanted the casket sticking out. So to make up for it, I will be building a crypt for it.
  15. Finally building a hearse. It's going to be my October entry over at our club. figured it was creepy enough. It's a resin copy of the Johan Hearse. Here are some pics of what I started with and where I'm at so far. opened the hood, added tabs and painted it flat black to start.
  16. If you were to build your kits so that OTHER people agreed with them, it would take all the fun out of it. Everyone has a different taste. Enjoy your builds and display them proudly. From the pics you've posted so far, it looks like you're going with the protour look. I think the second stance looks a lot better. I'm going to be following along, if you don't mind.
  17. Thanks Frank! I love when I get into a kit. It feels fun and not like I HAVE to finish it. I'm having fun, learning a few things and it's coming along great. I put in a couple of hours. The engine is almost done. I couldn't find the fuel pump in three kits I have. I checked the pro street ones and custom kit and nothing so I had to make shift one...sort of. At least the fuel line ends up somewhere now. Lol. The interior panels are also done.
  18. Thank you guys. The color is Testor's One Coat Lacquer Inca Gold.
  19. Small update on the engine for this one. The engine is starting to look pretty dressed up. The boots and the radiator hose are in place. The distributor should be the next step. The air cleaner is a Parts by Park piece. Polished it to a mirror finish.
  20. Decided on the engine. Going to go with a 327. Nothing too fancy.
  21. The front shouldn't really affect the channeling since it's the body that has to "hug" the rear of the chassis. I took one of my Revell 32s and if I lay the body over the chassis alone the body drops low enough to get the stance you're looking for. You just need to modified the interior to get it to do that. This chassis I posted is also extended? And of course chop the firewall since it's what also lays on the chassis.
  22. Getting the engine to sit as high as you want might require both spacers and channeling the body. I don't see the firewall installed and you have tires holding up the front end so I'm thinking you have not assembled it yet. It's still not a bad time to make he mods you want. The Revell kits require a little bit of work. Here's a modification I did to an older build of mine. The chassis comes from that same kit you're using. Then just add a floorboard to cover the chassis. I have a few more pics I can share with you if you want to PM me as well.
  23. No worries. Still not sure about the engine, though.
  24. It's J. Thanks Mike. Appreciate it!
  25. Today I worked on the interior. That red stripe seems a bit off so I want to tie in the interior with the same colors. First off a custom console. I'm flocking the interior but wanted to make sure the color pattern was going to work. I think it will. I did get to finish the dash, though.
